Tekko Kagi Build ideas

Advice

Anyone got any? i personally am a fan of the idea of iron claws for a weapon. Thinking of either Brawler, fighter.

Tekko-Kagi

Tekko-kagi (iron claw) 2 gp 1d2 1d3 ×2 P disarm

Also known as the iron claw, this device consists of a fanlike structure of five 10-inch blades secured to a sturdy handle strapped to the forearm of the off-hand.

Benefit: A tekko-kagi can be used an offensive weapon, defensively like a buckler, or to disarm an opponent’s weapon without provoking an attack of opportunity. It provides its owner with a +2 circumstance bonus on attempts to disarm or sunder swords or other slender-bladed weapons.

Yea it kind of sucks, but i want to try building and working with it

I think the idea is to work with the fighting defensively thing and disarming thing. though i'm really not sure

Grand Lodge

My PFS Brawler uses a Mithril Tekko-Kagi to great effectiveness, he is able to improve the damage dice on it, uses it with his maneuvers for a small bonus to disarm and has a great magical silver weapon for DR.

Brawler or Ascetic Style UnMonk are your best choices for sure.

Scarab Sages

Fighter with AWTs would work well too. Mutation Warrior in particular.

A weapon which leaves your hand free is useful for a spellcaster who wants to use TWF in melee. I could see a warpriest using it - fervor is a workaround with limited uses. Or an eldritch scoundrel rogue perhaps.

Not really, TWF is still a thing you need to qualify for.

It doesn't leave your hand free. It doesn't say it works exactly like a buckler, and it describes that it has a handle. If you want a weapon that leaves your hand free, try a cestus.

I'm not sure. It's described similarly (and functions a lot like) a light shield and you can definitely cast with a light shield.

The handle is 'strapped to the forearm', not in your hand. Seems clear enough.

A warpriest has enough feats to disarm and do TWF, and it has a slight edge over a cestus in doing so. Or, yes, a fighter or brawler could do the same, but they put less importance on having a hand free.

Free hands are awesome for Brawlers. Shields for AC or the hand for grappling is a great thing to have.

Yeah, I second Warpriest. It's the quintessential "I wanna use this crappy/weird/obscure weapon but I also want to be good in combat" class.

Okay so next is getting proficiency with the Tekko Kagi as the warpriest.

From what i can find 1 diety has it as a favored weapon Bastet

if i go human or half elf i can get exotic weapon proficiency that way as well

Should be it though i'm probably missing something
