Okaaayy...

So I have an epic suggestion for an adventure Path!

For Length:

Book One begins in Galt, during yet another revolution. The party is a group of folks that JUST managed to escape meeting the Final Blade. The entire first book is finding some way to escape. They find a door that takes them Somewhere Else.

Book Two The somewhere else is the heartland of Tian Xia, and the party has to figure out why they were whisked there, and how to survive in a strange culture.

Book Three The players discover that there are ancient manipulations afoot that hint towards the south, and there's a trip through lovely scenic Najajor(sp?) as they head south.

Book Four Their journey takes them to the lost lands of Sarusan, where an ancient prophecy claims they are the chosen ones (Wait, prophecy? Didn't that go out with Aroden??)

Book Five The party discovers the true manipulator behind the scenes -- themselves. They now have to stop their future selves from manipulating events so that the world does not collapse into a paradox of ungainly proportions!

Book Six The final confrontation...with the party finding themselves flung back to Galt, and braving not only the current revolution but attempting to find those that escaped the results of Book Five.

It hits several different areas and ties different things in, and keeps mobility important. This is probably not the sort of AP for 'settling down' or 'building kingdoms/rebellions/etc...'

^Actually, a globe-trotting AP like that could be pretty cool.

Edit: Added link to Iron Horses AP in my previous post.

Liberty's Edge

Shame to hear that Tian Xia sounds like it ain't gonna get love. Such a wide range of stories that could be told out there.

Maybe first come out with a reverse Jade Regent and some modules/scenarios to prime the market some more?

I'd prefer a second Tian-Xia based AP stay in Tian-Xia the whole time, with perhaps a planar diversion to a conterminous plane like Ethereal or Shadow version of whatever location.

Honestly, I think Iron Fang Invasion would have been better as Tian Xia based AP with Kaoling looking to expand.

Oh my god yes! I will do this! Someday....

While I would love to do another Tian Xia AP, there are other stories as well that have had even less attention than Tian Xia, believe it or not. And I'm not the one who makes the final decisions anyway.

I've seen threads asking for many of those other things. But sheesh, you'd think being Creative Director would get you a few perks. ;)

It does. Turns out there's other APs I've longed to do as well. Iron Gods. Hell's Rebels. Strange Aeons (even thoguh that ended up being Adam's show to run). And the upcoming Return of the Runelords.

I would still love to do another Tian Xia AP, but nowhere did I say that's the one I'm doing next or even the one I WANT to do next.

I would still love a Vudra AP.

Psychics, Asuras, Manasaputras, and a Rakshasas or two, dancing ladies with swords balanced on their heads. Other cool stuff. :)

I know it won't happen but that's what I would want. :)

Creative Director dinosaurs should just eat folks, not tease them. ;)

Is there at least a flavor of thing you'd want to do next you can share?

This has already been mentioned, but I don't think folks have really picked up on it yet...

Has that been done before? I seem to recall something about it in

Second Darkness, but I also recall it wasn't exactly like that and had some issues?

I suppose you could make the argument that 1918/1922 in Reign of Winter/Strange Aeons could be construed as "that"...but in a purely technical sense I suppose it wasn't.

There are elements of it in Rise of the Runelords and in Shattered Star; yet another theme that the three Adventure Paths share as part of a trilogy.

I love interplanar stories. The First World would be cool, with the PC’s engaged in the power struggles of the strange Eldest, or a Tour of the Elemental Planes with an attempt to free the remaining Good Elemental Lords.

I likewise think poor Vudra could use some love, as an Indian-themed AP has not occurred yet.

Maybe a Draconic conflict involving Apsu and his Enemies?

I would love to return to Osiron and do a proper AP that focuses more on the Osiron Pantheon :/

I asked if you had plans to do a

AP plot spoiler:
Time Travel AP
at Gen Con 2015s panel. I was told that there were to many moving parts for it and that you would probably never see one happen.

I was tricking you, and didn't want to spoil years in advance what I'd had planned for Return of the Runelords. Time Travel hints have appeared in the two Adventure Paths leading up to this one (In Rise of the Runelords and a bit more in Shattered Star), and Return of the Runelords goes fully into the time travel thing.

I doubt we'll do much more with time travel ever again, though, and indeed there are a LOT of moving parts that really need something on the scale of an Adventure Path to properly work with.

But yeah... sometimes, knowing what we've got planned years in advance means that when folks ask about that type of thing, we have to be evasive or misleading in our responses. For example, you'll note I said "probably never see one" and not "never see one"... ;-)

I'm confused, what are the time travel elements in Shattered Star? Or for that matter, in Rise of the Runelords?

In RotR its the Karzoug's master plan.

In short::
Leng Device was intended to open portal to the past he could bring his giant army to the present

Time travel is always something tricky to work with, you do it poorly you have paradox after paradox, and if you do it well you then have to explain how the time travel actually works, and also deal with a bunch of stupid questions. "Do the gods exist outside of time? if they don't then how come Aroden is dead?" I also remember that there is an artifact that uses time travel in one book, so it's not just the adventure paths that time travel has been mentioned in, it's just the runelords that it's been ever implemented in

CorvusMask highlighted the Rise one... For Shattered Star...

Spoiler:
The PCs use a device to send a message back in time from Adventure 6 to inform/warn/aid them in Adventure 3 using a device called a timeglass (see page 61 of Pathfinder #66) to contact the troll auger Augustille in adventure 3. Plus in both APs, there are encounters with the Hounds of Tindalos, who get involved when time travel stuff happens...

Ah, it all makes sense now, your plan all along.

Spoiler:
You made an AP just to use the Hounds again :3

Kobolum wrote:

Which is by no means inherently a problem; it's possible to get some great campaigns out of that as a premise.

Return of the Runelords part 6: In the epic conclusion, the PCs must travel back in time to assassinate Aroden, preventing the destruction of Golarion and thus finally answering the mystery that has plagued us all for so long!?!?!?!

:p

I'd personally love to see an AP specifically focusing on Occult Adventure stuff, but I figure that's pretty much a pipe dream.

I'd love to see a planar AP! I don't know where to find anyone totally obsessed with the planes who would be willing to write anything in equally obsessive details about it though...

;)

Or even a 'Planar' AP!

That'd be really cool.

We could get that guy who wrote The Great Beyond and Book of the Damned: Vol 3 -- you know, the guy who invented Proteans, to oversee the Planar AP.

;)

Technically Strange Aeons is an Occult Adventure type AP. But I am all for a non-Mythos Occult/Psychic based AP.

A Planar AP would be awesome especially if you could get to level 20 like the Rise of Runelords one.

Ah, yeah, it might just be my lack of knowledge with Strange Aeons, but I've considered it mostly to be The Cthulhu Mythos Path as opposed to The Occult Path. Might be worth a closer look, though...

Planar adventuring would be reaaaaally cool as well!

ironfang did a really cool job imagining part of the Plane of Earth. I would be down with more planar stuff - maybe just focused on one plane rather than a plane hopping one though.
