Magical Beast Animal Companions

How come the Dragonne is the only Magical Beast that can be an Animal Companion from the Bonus Bestiary. When the Bestiary and Bestiary 2 came out none of the Magical Beasts had stat blocks for being Animal companions? Do they have some Magical beasts some where else i don't know about that can be Animal companions?

Allowing the Draggone to be an animal companion was something that happened BEFORE the final animal companion rules were locked in. Keep in mind the Bonus Bestiary came out prior to the Core Rules official release. Officially, the draggone CAN'T be an animal companion (the Bonus Bestiary is not 'canon'). Only animals can be animal companions - that's why you don't see any magical beast animal companions listed in the Bestiaries.

For something kind of along these lines, however, you should pick up the new, summer issue of Kobold Quarterly when it comes out in a month or two - I have it on very good authority that there will be an article that you just might find very useful! :)

Even the Dragonne isn't an animal companion. It's a cohort that follows the animal companion rules.

There is a blog post for Rangers of Korvosa being a member of Sable company i believe it is and getting a Hippogryph mount. but I dont know how cannon it is.

There's an epic feat for having magical beasts as companions. You need to rely on that.
