So I played Bid for Alabastrine with Alex Augunas. Hands down top 5 PFS experience and in the discussion for #1. Alex was as prepared as I've seen a GM. And he really made an effort to let us all shine, get through a heavy RP scenario well on time and made it feel meaningful for the players. And this gamut of awesomeness was really expounded upon by an awesome group of random players!
I love hearing that my local GM's go out and give people awesome GM jobs! And he is definitely one of the best.

Breaking News: Congratulations to Ray Diaz, our newest Campaign Service Coin recipient. He is number 755!!!!
Can we circle back to his guy again? I had a chance to introduce myself to Ray as he was standing in line for the banquet. I wanted to not only congratulate him but also meet him. I know too few people on the East Coast.
Let me say this: Ray is pretty much the nicest, most humble guy I've ever met. He beams earnestness and niceness. If you know me (and the assorted goonery that can tolerate me), I'm sarcastic with a bit of snark most of the time.
Not Ray. Ray is 100% pure and nice and awesome. Damn. It's striking how real he is. I'm a fan.

I didn't attend the Trivia Contest (other things called, including a fun convo with Wei Ji the Learner), but believe JCompton will get me the questions and answers so I can transcribe later.

Yesterday, I played a slew more ACG - Season of the Runelord (a set I really like) before hitting the gym before attending the Banquet.
Played a bit more with Buell, Doc76, & Bryan. Today, I hope to get into some games with Sarah Bull and Todd Freakin' Morgan (assuming Todd Freakin' Morgan will loosen his death grip on his HQ chair).
I have tix to the Goblins ACG game at noon, and Serpent's Ire game tonight. I consider blowing off the Ire game for more ACG. I ponder. I don't need to play when I can be in the same room watching the chaos safely from a few tables away.

They are miscreants, but delightful ones! Now let's find out how trustworthy they are. They told me that it is possible that you might come out to our little SkalCon. Is that rumor true? I'd be delighted to have a chance to meet you!
It was your guide to PbP that made me decide to give it a try, and eventually to GM.
Hmm
Hmm. It's possible, but not likely. While I'll pretty much say anything to get out of conversation with Leg'oLamb, Mr.Stanky, & the rest of your local riffraff, there are elements of truth in what I consider.
Hey Painlord --
Ask Keith Apperson...embrace chaos....stare into the darkness...do it....
Hmm
I'll see what I can do. Talking to Keith involves staring into that 'beard'. I promise nothing.

Random Thoughts:
1) Starfinder: it sounds pretty cool. Not sure how well I described it last night in my furious rush to type everything as best I could as it was unfolding, but I liked the idea of having a potential future wherein Golarion is 'just gone' and there is Absalom Station in its place in the cosmos. Also, the new AI God? Awesome. And how/why the AI God's gift is faster than light travel? Sweet too. I like the set up.
2) PSA - Pathfinder Society Academy: I like this idea. We always want the next generation of gamers around. However, will need to see if one of the lessons focuses on RP and character backstory, rather than solely focusing on mechanics. Truly, at least half the game should be focused on RP and your character's drives, desires, story rather than focusing solely on mechanics and crunch. If the PSA is only about mechanics, then we're just training a bunch of youth to play the game badly and incompletely rather than focusing on the entire, bigger game where character & story are MUCH more important than crunch. I hope that lesson exists.

I sat down for the post-banquet trivia contest for the first time. Our team was
myself
Del Collins
Matt Polkowsky
Jim Price
Rafael Taramona
Anthony Bowen
Raymond Sullivan
and our ringer Joshua Hennington, who answered most of the questions correctly
Team name: "John Compton's Children"
We actually won the contest and John begrudgingly accepted us as his illegitimate offspring.
flexes brain
it was a pleasure to meet you guys - the trivia was really fun!

That is Ray in a nut shell.

I was at Ray's table for Bonekeep 1 a few years back... Sole survivor, as I recall, and only because someone threw my unconscious body onto their goat animal companion and sent me up the stairs... Still have the goat, and still treasure that game. Well deserved, Ray!

Slot 4 is alive and well. Big shout out to our musterers today--everyone was seated at 5 minutes after the slot started. That's outstanding.
Other news is that nearly every sheet that has been turned in as of this post has been reported. The only ones that remain are some of the 1 PM pick up slots that weren't one of the listed scenarios for reporting. We'll add those later once all the 1 PM slots are completed.
Thanks to Bob for making the coffee run for HQ this morning! I know that we all appreciate it.
And as a quick announcement: the 1 PM games will be in the Grand Ballroom today (there's no banquet so we don't have to kick anyone out!)

Pathfinder Swat sat down for Bid for Alabastrine this morning. 56 minutes later we make it out of the briefing. The Gm has lowered his head in laughter/pain/joy/disgust a dozen times.
58 minutes later, the first combat is over, the Perp's handcuffed and it is time for the union break. When the coffee and donuts landed on the table the gm was just speechless and started laughing again.

So after the trivia contest and risking my position by needling the Decemvirate, we retired to the Cascade room for late night Cards Against Humanity with Cosmo, Sara, Chris, and a whole plethora of yahoos. Tim Nightengale getting the country club card and reading the answers in the Howell(?) voice was classic. Also, some of the staff REALLY know me too well.
This morning, I trundled down to the morning slot and got to sit down for about half an hour. Every time a group of players approached, I looked at them with hopeful eyes, only to have them veer off to another table. I guess no one wants to compact with consortiums on the third morning of the con. So I got to wander around scavenging for fun.
A table of the delve with Linda saw Kyra behead Chief Ripnugget in a gory display for the win. (Hold Person + stupid gecko mount + CdG = BLOOD EXPLOSION EXTRAORDINAIRE) Then I wandered over to the Trapdoor Technologies booth and learned how I can implement the Playbook for my games. Hopefully they'll have my scenarios ready for GenCon. Finally, I grabbed a Gunslinger pregen deck and exploded some goblins in Season of the Runelords, rounding out my chronicle for this year. Pity I can't use it today, what with Serpent's Ire not involving wayfinder-carrying agents.
About time to be getting lunch, maybe slumming it across the way at Denny's. Then back to gaming with the master of disaster, Nicolas Logue!

Well just finished my morning slot for day 3. After another run of the Mummy's Mask demo and a quick instruction on how to set up a character from the class deck, I was able to continue the run of Season 2 Adventure 1 with a couple of guys from Idaho and get more time with the Alchemist Class Deck (2 more scenarios to go).
Got to run an get lunch for the family and then head back down to get a game or two more in before my evening shift.
...and who is messing with the time stream! Today seems to be flying by way too fast.

Playing Mark Moreland's excellent Marvel/Pathfinder mashup. In the first round we've had Wolverine do a flying crit off a roof, spider man has been flying across the battlefield and Doctor Strange (played by yours truly) just got four doombots (robots) in perfect lightning bolt formation. Black widow then popped out of invisibility to devastate another before one hit by the lighning bolt crewed through my arcane barrier. Iron man finished it up with a missile barrage and Captain America Vaught another with a sheield bash!

The evening Special has been sat (again, within 5 minutes of start time). We were able to sit all ticketed players and most of the non-ticketed players. One table-worth of non-ticketed players had to to be turned away due to lack of GMs, unfortunately, but they retired upstairs to try and start a pickup game of Society.
The prize table will be open to the the end of the slot and then re-open tomorrow morning.
In personal news, I was able to enjoy a second ACG table this morning with Painlord, played in a delve ran by James Jacobs (a personal dream/goal of mine), and played a PFS table with Bob Jonquet and the Pullman crew ran by Bobby Pepka. There was 3D terrain. It was high-tier 7-11 scenario. I played a paladin and killed lots of undead and evil outsiders :)
Very few player or GM complaints at this convention. Either people are afraid of us, or not much annoying stuff is taking place. I'll take it as a win either way.
Also Painlord, I appreciate you taking time from your high level ACG table to help me learn more tricks with the card game. Next time we play, I will be the Master.

Ha!
Fortunately, my kitsune have maxed disguise skill, the sneaky little kits...
Hmm *hugs* her kitsune close. (Hey, I've always been a foxy lady, right?)
I've been so worried that they'd be retired on me... Now I can love my furry rascals for one more year.

Alex Greenshields (author of Dalsine Affair and the one famous for introducing PFS to the murderous magus class) was just crit by a spellstriking shocking grasp.
Karma is real!
OMG. This makes me much more happy than all the ACG play and scotch put together.
Ahhh...man, best PaizoCon ever.

Bar time on sunday night. Painlord sits down. Eric Brittain and Darren Caldemeyer sit down and its a few awesome hours of banter.
And Swat's good friend Alistair Rigg joins us and declares the beautiful virtues of Swat to Rand who is "poopoo" about Swat. Beautiful night of conversation.
Did i mention these words from Painlord? "I made a mistake."
