Once again the fates have conspired to keep me from PaizoCon. They work in mysterious ways blessing one of the project managers that could cover my absence with a new baby and afflicting the other with Mayo clinic level kidney surgery. To add injury to insult I have contracted a mucus spewing joyride of a cold. Knowing now that the universe seeks to prevent my attendance only serves to harden my resolve for next year.

In the mean time I have an unused pass and banquet ticket. I accept many forms of payment including good deeds, good stories, boons, gold, etc. I would hate to see it go to waste.

Its not a matter of whether the gnome can be carried its a matter of whether or not the baby battle bjorn (tm) is a feasible mechanism of fighting. if there was ever a group that specialized in that mode of combat I'm really not surprised they didn't last long enough to leave a historical record....

Show me a historical record where 25 pound people could launch fireballs

So what if the the first season of PFS2 was finding, assembling and figuring out an artifact called "The Wayback Machine" or something that would allow pathfinders to travel back into the past experience old scenarios. Players/GMs could earn trips back in time to replay old scenarios. There would be some ratio of characters or characters levels to number of replays of old scenarios. I think I read somewhere that converting from old to new is easy. There is a volunteer army that would happily do the conversions. The converting process would provide great experience for players and GMs getting used to the new system. Players and GMs that want to play more than twice a month wouldn't lose interest waiting for new content. Maybe two old scenarios could be re-released each month to limit things. I don't want to just abandon PFS1 and feel this would be a good way for us all to move on but still have a connection to the past.

The Exchange 3/5

How about a fame/prestige system?

Fame- This would be a pool of spendable points that would start at zero after each reboot. This would provide bonuses, items, etc to keep the power curve flat between new and old players.

Prestige - This would be a cumulative total between reboots that would allow for a motivated new GMs to catch up to those with years under their belts. This number would offer more flavor boons- titles, unlocks, etc.

We would all be both starting fresh and building on the tens, hundreds or thousands of hours invested.

Was that the day only two of us got burgers because we had eaten all the rest of their food?

Correction: Ironbound Schism has 2 spots left. I currently have Wei Ji, James Risner, TOZ and Fromper in there. I think that is 2 Paladins, 1 Barbarian and 1 very taciturn Bolt Ace / Freebooter. We could probably use someone arcane... Maybe a bard or a skald or someone with knowledge skills?

I've got a skald low tier skald named Roscoe that would like to join this table. I promise we will behave ourselves better this time.

Don't you know? That is the next database project to be coded in Netherlands: "The Free Time Finder." You type in your name and your schedule and it manufactures an hour of free time plus stroopwafels for you.

Hmm

Is this on Kickstarter? This is the best idea ever. Indiegogo? Please. Gofundme? Can I just start sending money to you?

I do have an in with the Waffle Queen if you can handle the time part.

Nordic Waffles

Hey, you're right, we should have waffles at Skalcon. I'll look into it.

First, marvel heroes in Pathfinder with Mark Moreland (we posted a lot of pics from that one)!

A totally enjoyable game with mister slanky doing what he does, with Tineke, Pirate Rob, Kevin Willis among others. We saved those wayangs (however you pronounce the race's name)

Then, met up with Andy Christian and the mustering line. Thorval son of Thorval son of Thorval... and his Cardinal tengu met up for the first time since last year in order to race n Sargava. Thank you David Montgomery for making it a great experience in spite of some difficulty

No just chilling a bit before i see what the other Yahoo!'s are doing.

How many Thorval son of Thorval son of Thorval son of Thorval does it take to get from PFS to SFS?

We played this party in Sliverhex at a con last summer after the scheduled tables didn't go off. There was an unwritten rule that "Harsk" was the only word spoken. We sounded like a dwarven Hodor SWAT team.

If this book does not have alchemical Vigilante Shark Repellant or a spell that convinces dolphins to take one for the team and blow themselves up, I will be disappointed. Sorely disappointed, I tell you.

Porpoise Detonation (Druid 1, sorcerer/wizard 4, Witch 4, vigilante 1)
Casting time: Full round
Components: V, M (a bit of salmon)
Effect: one dolphin
Range: Close (25' +5'/ level)
Duration: One round per level
Save: Will, Spell Resistance: No

You convince a conveniently near by dolphin to sacrifice itself to save a bunch of underserving people. The GM may increase the DC if the caster uses really good salmon. Using smoked salmon will lower the DC by 2.

I can only assume the one round per level duration means this is in slow motion.

If I started a fresh character today I could get to 19.2 by then. I would have to play almost every day. It may be viewed as excessive to not take off Christmas and New Years. I wouldn't see my family and would likely lose my job, but doable.

We are fortunate to have such passionate leadership in Minnesota.

Skal Con is shining example of the best of what a Con can be and should be supported as such.

To those that say don't go tier 1-2 for your first try at GenCon I say it worked great for me. Have had a blast the last two years, and expect it only to get better!

If I wanted to get our of sagamore I have the opportunity (2 slots) but for some reason I decided to play. Huh, go figure.

Now, this year, maybe I will try something else (but probably not).

You mean you are not going to set the alarm at an ungodly hour of the accursed morning?

THUNDERLIPS! be praised.

Ungoadly hour meaning 7AM? I will probably be getting up by then, yes. But, then again, so will AJ.

OF course, that's when Ray will probably just be getting back.

Lucius will ride again (at Gen Con this time)

WHO IS THIS RAY OF WHICH YOU SPEAK? HE SOUNDS LIKE A RIGHT AND TRUE ULFEN WARRIOR WITH WHOM THUNDERLIPS! WOULD BE PROUD TO BURN INDEEANNAPOLICE DOWN.

TRULY, THERE IS MUCH JACK BROWN COULD LEARN FROM THIS RAY OF RAYS.

I have always aspired to be a cautionary tale.

As a Minnesota sports fan this sounds perfect for me.

All the promise of putting together the right pieces to build a team that should be a contender, with stars in my eyes and butterflies in my stomach I wait for this to come to fruition, I berate everyone with explanations about how good it could be and why this time is different, I believe in the potential to the exclusion of all others and reason... then I am crushed and hit the bottle when it all falls apart.

The Exchange 3/5

That was awesome. Clinton Boomer running Hands of the Muted God was a real treat. I'm going to sleep well tonight.
