How to gain immortality

Advice

In my current campaign, we have set about taking over a large city (think city state/country) and have employed devils to help us, through the mix I have ended up seducing one of the devils, not quiet a pitlord but not far from it. Any ideas on how to use this to gain immortality for my character, either through means of the conquest or the devils in general, our dm has stressed that most of the devilss we've encountered are basically 9th level spellcasters. The highest level devil we've talked to is asmodeus, but we can't communicate with him directly nor would I like to try and negotiate with him.

Edit: meant devils, not demons, sorry for confusion.

Um, do you mean demons or devils? Big difference.

Well, first, Asmodeus isn't a demon, if you're using the Golarion setting. He's an archdevil turned true deity.

As for immortality, I don't think any demon would make that trade unless you have it a large quantity of souls in exchange, as the whole point of demons is to corrupt things.
And if they don't get your soul because you live forever, well then you better have something else they want.

For actually getting immortality, if this is within the realistic expectations of your class and campaign, I'd suggest the undead route. Lichdom is quite nice, and comes with many perks.

Edit: through your use of Asmodeus and "pitlord" (which I take to mean Pit Fiend), you may be talking about devils, in which case the deal becomes even trickier. Devils (my favorite outsider "race") are a tricky sort, not often known for letting anyone who does a deal with them off on the fair side of things. If you barter for immortality, you may get it, but only from old age. And then the devil kills you, taking your soul to burn in Hell.

I'd suggest talking to your GM about whether this is even possible, and then drawing up an actual written contract (after getting in touch with a contract devil, of course), using that as the official legal copy for your bargain.
You would need to be very, very detailed in this bargain, including every possible phrase of protection against the devil itself and Hell's minions in it.

Of course, the cost would still likely be very high, as if you aren't willing to give your soul away for immortality (and I'm assuming no devil would make that trade, ever), then you'll either have to provide Hell with enough good souls to corrupt so as to make it worth the "power expense", or proof yourself capable of furthering Hell's goals on the Material Plane so that you earn your reward.

Whatever happens, dealing with demons and devils is a dangerous prospect, and I wish you the best of luck.

Meant devils, my mistake.

Impossible to say, since Asmodeus isn't a demon in the Golarion setting, and he doesn't even employ them, being more into devils. Since your setting seems unique and custom, it is difficult to determine exactly what these things can do.

Immortality is beyond the power of a single ninth level spell, that takes a 20th level wizard discovery or something more complex and expensive like becoming a lich. I would expect powerful demons or devils to be able to give you pretty good lich making instructions, if you could convince them to do so.

I would personally assume that any immortality gained from evil powers would have strings attached or downsides that would make it less than worth it, but best of luck.

The 5th volume of Hell's Rebels has an example infernal contract that gives 1,000 years of unaging, but it's not immortality.

my two cents,

You could go with the immortaly and a kingdom forever way.

Devils/Demons love's corruption and destruction. Unless the city you took was a pile of ashes...the interested party could offer this:

You have my soul and the ''city'' in exchange of immortality.

Now you just gave them a big nice place to settle to and attack from. And in exchange your character won't age as long as he stay inside of it (or near the hellish gate that would open).

And if you like to mess up your groups, he could ask for the lives of your ''friends'' and the ''city'' to be is and their.

Then you have the lichdom path kind of nice but your still just a undead and lich can be destroyed (it take a lot but it can be done).

Another option would be the demonisation of your soul. Put the city ''au feu et a sang'' (meaning kill and burn everything).
That action will put a spot on your character, both from the forces of evil and of good... rest to see witch one will get you first (can be great for some more role play).

Send your charater against them you'll get immortality but as a lemure or something like that, can be quite funny for the gm.

Or have him enter in service in hell (depending of it's job), get a nice job and get immortality (as long as you don't leave the plane).

He could try to contact the soul doll maker (if need be pm me about that option, be ready for a ''tought fight'').

There is also the gem way... nice for a demon/devil not for a character. I don't remember the exat name of the object/spell but it's a marvelous gem set on a nice chain or something of the same kind. When the ''target'' look at the gem it's essence get caught in it. Tadam now your both nice to look at and you have gained immortality... kind off.

Try to find a way to mass produce elexir of youth (but a the price they cost to produce...)

Lastly would be for them to reach lv 30. then they would count as a minor godling (depending of how you play those and how your characters played to get there).

well that's more of less that.

Well, I don't know how you would gain actual immortality. But as a GM I know what I would do.

The devil would likely pull a fast one on you and have the contract specify that it grants you your own timeless permanent demiplane. You will live forever, as long as you stay in there. But eventually you will be unable to leave. It's not necessarily a problem if you're the type of character that has access to Astral Projection...but anyone who doesn't is probably going to regret their choice eventually.

20th level Wizard or Imperious Bloodline Sorcerer (much cooler).
