Hello Paizo, and in particular Hello Pathfinder 2e. I'm a D&D 5e orphan. I've bonded with my kids playing 5e, but now I'm looking for a safe harbour in the Sh!+ Sh0w storm that is WotC's attempt to force all 5e players into a subscription-based monopoly under the D&D Beyond banner.
What. A. Betrayal. I felt that we were all toiling away in a communal orchard, tending to our trees and eating their fruits. Now WotC shows up and reassures us that the trees are still ours, only WotC get to eat their fill for free, and they can sell our fruits to others with no compensation to us. It's time to put this orchard to the torch and create our own orchard.
I'm looking for something very 5e-like, with its attendant oversimplifications. Hopefully something akin to PF2e, albeit simpler, will arise from the ORC process. If not, perhaps my players will migrate to PF2e.

Welcome!
To get started, why don't you grab the [url=https://paizo.com/products/btq026dl?Pathfinder-Beginner-Box]Beginner Box [/b](which has a 25% discount if you use the code OpenGaming code when you check out).
It's an easy to understand version of the PF2 rules that lets you transition to the full ruleset very quickly.
If you're very experienced with 5e rules, then you might want to jump right in with the Core Rulebook

Just fixing the url coding.
And welcome!

Oh, gosh, yeah, there are a lot of options. Just take it one step at a time. There are virtually no trap options in PF2. I find making shortlists helps (like, "these are the top feats I might want").
Also, a very good habit for Backgrounds? Pick two abilities you want to boost, and narrow your choices down to "any background that offers at least one of them". That basically cuts your options by, like, two-thirds.

Hey everyone! I'm a long-time fan and lurker, but I hope to change that with the times changing with the OGL fiasco.
I'm currently trying to change the adventure path I was creating initially for D&D, and change it to fall under the ORC and Pathfinder 2e system instead. A vast, sprawling adventure path inspired by 1940's early pulp adventure, film noir, sword and sorcery, and eldritch horror themes to make a wonderful adventure to explore! Crime lords, dinosaurs, train heists, auctioneer battles mysterious cults, liches... So much more that I'd hate to spoil but hope to share someday! I felt that Numeria remained untapped in its potential for adventures like this, and could fit it in the setting.
My problem at this point is trying to navigate where I take my plotted-out AP to get it to a publishing process after editing and formatting. Any recommended publishers I would be able to work with, or would I be able to communicate with someone internally? I was originally planning on attending Paizocon in hopes to communicate in person with more internal members or 3rd party publishers, but with it being online this year, I felt would greatly reduce my chances of meeting with these individuals. So I turned to the forums in hopes of trying to find my next steps to make. I've reached out to Dreamscarred Press and Open Gaming Network via email, and hope that bodes well.
Sorry if this isn't the best place for a post like this, but checking online with search engines has yielded more direct answers to my questions.

@vallum12100 - Dreamscarred Press are functionally…absent. Their Starfinder Kickstarter is either failed or so massively delayed by the creator’s personal problems that it amounts to same.
That I was not aware of, and is a true shame.
I must confess to having stopped following their work of late, but Path of War has consistently been a big hit in our PF1 games for years.

Hello again, everyone. I used to be a regular here a looooong time ago, starting back when Paizo was still publishing Dungeon (in print!) during the 3.5 days. I was just in high school, learning to be a netizen by posting in these boards, right when Age of Worms came out. As I was moving off to college and had less time for gaming or posting, WotC was canceling Paizo's contract so they could chase digital subscriptions for an online publication (how did that work out?), and Paizo was using the OGL to launch Pathfinder. Years later, life got more stable, I got a new gaming group, but we played 5e.
Now, here we are again, WotC back to its old bad habits, launching a divisive new "edition" (???), still chasing online subscription revenue, splitting the community, and I find myself turning back to Paizo. Everything feels like it's coming full-circle. But I thought I'd say hi, and see if anyone is still around from a long time ago.

@Oceanshieldwolf - That's a shame to hear, I enjoyed with pf1e material. Would explain why I have yet to hear anything from the email Jeremy posted on DSP site. Would you know of any solid 3rd party peeps to reach out to that have been doing good work for pf2e so far?
Owen K C Stephens runs Rogue Genius Game and is incredibly knowledgeable about 3rd party matters, and a thoroughly nice person to boot.
Also, Mark Seifter, ex of this parish, is now a developer for Battlezoo and runs a discord channel, Arcane Mark, where he has regular video calls and discusses design.
