Hello Paizo, and in particular Hello Pathfinder 2e. I'm a D&D 5e orphan. I've bonded with my kids playing 5e, but now I'm looking for a safe harbour in the Sh!+ Sh0w storm that is WotC's attempt to force all 5e players into a subscription-based monopoly under the D&D Beyond banner.
What. A. Betrayal. I felt that we were all toiling away in a communal orchard, tending to our trees and eating their fruits. Now WotC shows up and reassures us that the trees are still ours, only WotC get to eat their fill for free, and they can sell our fruits to others with no compensation to us. It's time to put this orchard to the torch and create our own orchard.
I'm looking for something very 5e-like, with its attendant oversimplifications. Hopefully something akin to PF2e, albeit simpler, will arise from the ORC process. If not, perhaps my players will migrate to PF2e.
