Thanks Paizo for doing this great humble bundle deal. I've been playing pathfinder for a long time now, but never actually had the chance to buy so many books so cheap. I hope you, as a company, exist for a long time, because I just love this openness with material compared to a certain other company. Really, best d20 game out there, even if not quite the easiest to get into. :)

I'm sure you will, ShinsouBlue.
BTW paizopeeps, is there a basic guide for creating a character or starting to play PF? I think it'd be very handy for the new players.
Or has Know Direction or another podcast done one?
I think you can look at the strategy guide. Me looking through it, it explains some of the concepts in the game and features a part which explains how each class works.

Strategy guide is good. There's some decent youtube videos too. Sorry I don't have any links.
I don't know if the following is what you're refering to, but there's the DawnForged Pathfinder Basics and Saving Throw's How to Play Pathfinder.

Oh, and since no one has mentioned it yet, a funny thing happens to your avatar when you use the word "Smurf" in a post on these boards. There is a thread for trying this out HERE. Please don't do it on this thread, as it will add clutter.
:D

Here is the extremely simple character creation guide from d20pfsrd.com.

Hi, I just want to praise Paizo for joining the Humble Bundle initiative. Thanks to that many new gamers will have the opportunity to play this RPG. Even with the download problems, this is very worthwile.
Also, THANKS for putting so much care in all the manuals and guides - they are very captivating and easy to follow. You are the best - please keep on! Best wishes.

Also, in case you newcomers feel like getting to know the cool characters featured in the artwork throughout the Pathfinder books (the iconics, as we call them), you can find their stories HERE.
Keep in mind that the entries are listed with the most recent at the top, so to get to the classics, just scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Hi there, I'm another newcomer via the fantastic Humble Bundle you lovely lot at Paizo ran.
Someone also suggested I look at the free stuff to go along with it, the Dungeon Bash 1 & 2 and the GM and Player kits which look like they are excellent additions to the Beginners Box, which I will be using for the first few games I run.

Hello, Silverfoxdmt73,
If you're after some free stuff, be sure to check out the fan-created material, HERE, which expands on the setting of Golarion.
Many of the creators are active on these boards, and will probably become familiar faces in no time at all; some have already popped into this thread to say hello, including our first editor, in post #1.
Most of the content is designed to support the standard game, but includes a fair amount of edition neutral material like traveller's guides, fiction, and songs.
In the later issues, we began including some material specifically for the players of the Beginners Box, like the scenario in issue ten.
Enjoy!

Thanks everyone, Peebo & I were helping a new person in paizo chat go through the basics of the game & it was taking us a couple of hours.

I was wondering, if I want to run a Pathfinder game, and I buy an adventure path, what other product or products are necessary in order to run the campaign? I assume I need to buy the Pathfinder rulebook? Anything else is necessary to run any particular adventure path? Or does each path contain all the rules outside the main rule book needed to run that path?
I assume the original poster has already moved beyond this thread, but for anyone who plans to run a Pathfinder Adventure Path, I strongly suggest checking out the AP area of the message boards. I've found the GM Reference threads for each book to be very helpful, and full of cool ideas for customizing the adventures.
