Is Winter Coming?

Recruitment

Sorry for the cheesy tag line, but I felt it was quite fitting. The purpose of this thread is to see if there is anyone out there interested in playing/running the Reign of Winter adventure path. The reasons are twofold:

1. After doing a quick search of the recruitment forum, there hasn't been a (non-mythic) RoW open recruitment in almost a year.

2. According to this thread there are quite a few others who also would love to play Reign of Winter.

So, please feel free to reply and make your voices heard and hopefully together we can get one of the fine GMs on this forum to answer our heartfelt plea.

It doesn't have to be today, or even this week. But hopefully we'll get something going for the betterment of all. Thanks for your time.

Ehh, what the hell, I've run the first chapter of it for my group before. I could GM a game of it here if people don't mind a casual posting rate(2-4 times a week or so.).

I'll commit to GMing through the first book, then we'll see. I figure I'll avoid drowning everything in variants and run the game pretty much by the book.

As for character creation;
-There's a player's guide here.
-2 traits, one of which is a campaign trait from the above.
-Roll a set of stats with 4d6, best 3 dice. If you dislike the results, you may take a 20 point buy.
-All characters get point blank shot, deadly aim, power attack, weapon finesse & combat expertise for free.
-Average starting gold for your class.
-All characters get 1 extra skill point per level. We're not using background skills.
-Standard experience track.
-No third party material.
-4 players total.

YES!!!!!!

4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 4) = 16 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 2) = 8 7
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 1) = 7 6
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 5) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 1) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6) = 18 16

Dang. I like rolling, but two -2 stats would make it tough. I'll give it some thought

Dotting for interest.

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 6) = 14 - 2 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 4) = 20 - 4 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 2) = 15 - 2 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 6) = 14 - 1 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 5) = 16 - 2 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 2) = 7 - 1 = 6

Oof, that 6 is going to hurt. And actually that's less than 20 point buy.
So I guess never mind that, then.

Um, wow. That was fast. Are you sure? I really wasn't expecting someone to bite so quickly. Hmm, one set of rolls? I can almost guarantee I'll be taking the 20 PB, but let's give a whirl.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 6) = 20 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 3) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 1) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 1) = 15 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 3) = 11 9
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 4) = 14 13

Huh, 19 point buy. That was closer than I expected! Nonetheless, 20 PB it is.

Edit: the two character ideas I have in mind for this game are a two weapon fighting witch hunter inquisitor or an eldritch archer magus. I am concerned about the fact that a lot of eldritch archer bread and butter spells are cold-based. Plus a magus is waaay outside of my wheelhouse, but also something I've always wanted to try. Decisions.

I'd be down for trying RoW. I'll roll the dice and see what happens!

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 5) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 6) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 6) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 2) = 18 16
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 6) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 4) = 16 13

Oh boy! Lovin' those rolls. I'll get to work!

EDIT: Almost forgot about dropping the least die. Still better than a 20 point buy. Also, going Vigilante Witch Hunter, so rolling a d4 for hex nails

1d4 ⇒ 3

Hmm. I'm waiting to hear back on another recruitment thread. Still new to PBP, not sure I want to do more than one at a time. But if I don't make the cut for the other one I think I'll apply here. Should know within the week.

@TPFP: You might want to create an actual recruitment thread for this, to ensure maximum visibility.

@DM ST: Remember to drop the lowest die! Still a decent set of rolls, though. :P

Remember, you have to drop the lowest die, sadly.

@16BC, sure. I know just what to call it too.
