~grimaces~ Well, to repeat my earlier words, "Cancer sucks!!!"

My mom went in to have her lungs looked at yesterday. After that, the doctor came and talked to me. There is a lump the size of a dime on one of her main airways. It is not blocking any major airways, but it might be blocking some minor ones. Sadly, once that tumor is killed, it will make a hole in her airway that will not heal much, if at all. He said that because of what is going on, we need to think of this as the end stages of cancer. There are three reasons.

One - The cancer has spread to several areas and might spread further.

Two - They are now on secondary treatments. Secondary treatments are secondary for a reason.

Three - The area in the lung that has the tumor will compromise her body and leave an open area for infection to enter her body.

So yea! Cancer sucks.

On the plus side, my brother is starting to step up to the plate, finally. Sort of. Maybe.

I'm very sorry to hear that your mother has taken a turn for the worse. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cancer, indeed, sucketh. Big time. :(

My prayers and thoughts go with you and your family during this time Sharoth.

Bad news: it's gonna cost me $1400 to get my car fixed.
Good news: It's *only* gonna cost me $1400.

Brake lines rotted out. :-(

My car hasn't been running since March. Today I noticed a huge black stain underneath it. Might as well say goodbye to mobile independence.

DM Cal,

I can't say that. I need it for work and you know, so I can leave the house to go do gaming.

*has no idea how much it will cost to get his car fixed so the side mirror stops hanging off the passenger side door...and you know dents*

Man some real depressing news around here lately. :-(

Sharoth, any thought on alternative treatments for your Mom?

Wow, Time for some 'Extreme Vehicular Maintenance'

Or as it is otherwise known; 'Car repairs via flamethrower!'
;D

Sorry to hear about your cars guys, hope you get up and running soon!

Sharoth, Still praying for your mom and your family, Hang in there.

Well, they are doing chemotherapy right now, but they are using different drugs. Sadly, it is a type of breast cancer that is difficult to treat. Plus it has spread. On the plus side, no one has given up. I will ask the doctor about other treatments when we see him in two weeks.

DMC, I do hope that the car troubles are easy to fix. Being without a car does suck.

Good luck with the car, Ed.

Thanks, Sharoth! Tell your mom a total stranger says, "Hello and to fight the good fight. Never give up! Never surrender!"

My car is still running...it's just not as pretty as it should be...with the scrapes, the dents, the rust and passenger side mirror hanging by just bare wire...

Yeah. What Cal said.

Thanks you all!

So...much like the old philosophical question "If a tree falls in a forest", I made a one shot...and NO ONE came. :(

But plus side is I'm at least getting $375 for one's client's extended work stuff. That's on top of already depositing over a thousand dollars yesterday.

Sorry to hear that Sharoth,

On the plus side, my own mother has had breast cancer twice, two different types. First time was one of the 'triple-threat' types, meaning it was resistant to the normal 3 types of treatments normally used. ;P

And she has totally kicked it both times. Chemo, radiation, Yeah my mom is a tough cookie. Probably tougher than I am! :P

Short version, Tell her not to give up! It is a tough fight but she can do it! We'll keep praying for her!
:)

At least yours is running.. lol. Mine is dead with a huge black stain underneath it. I live on a dinky little disability check and there's no way I could ever fix it. So here I am, dependent upon the indulgence of others for rides.

I'd help you out Cal...but you live to far away. :p :)

Also today; Got my paladin of Ragathiel squared away. Now just need to get him into the mountains...

Thanks! The offer is appreciated as much as the act!

If you have title, DMCal, you might be able to donate it. At least you won't have a couple tons of rusting, leaking junk squatting in front of your house.

That's true. I'll consider that.

Mad,

That's how my brother got rid of a truck he no longer wanted...

Quick update:

Lost 45 pounds, quit band, shut down art business for good, promoted to manager at work, applying to the paper engineering program at SUNY ESF in the hopes of making a whole pile of money before I hit 40.

My 20-year-old self is rolling in its grave.

Peace out.

My guess is some really cool stuff. Papers for various purposes: bags, writing stock, folding stock (origami, pop-up books), packaging, wrapping, all kinds of cool things are made from various papers.

Hope you don't have to visit pulp mills. They smell bad.

Also, they are good places to murder people.

I only murder people in sewers.

Also paper models are hard to keep.

LOL!

That is on my list of things to watch. Soon. :P

It is on netflix, and i picked up a cheap copy of it at the store. Only excuse is I keep watching other things instead,... ;P

Judging by the previews, there are so many worse things you could be than Kubo!
:D

I read about that over the weekend. It's either going to really cool to open it or really, really bad.

Speaking from experience? Both in regard to the smell and... the other part?

I suspect the pendulum will swing the other way at some point, where you find room in your life for creative pursuits that mean something to you.

One of the toughest things I have ever done! And something I would have never agreed to even one year ago. But as it happened, I think my endurance on it was better than John’s!
