A good old grinding game, always a good time. I'm going to draw up a fighter/rogue who uses two-weapon fighting and sneak attacks for massive frontline damage. I should be back in a few hours with a character.

All right. I believe I'm done enough to begin. Spells are prepared on a day-to-day basis anyway, so I'll finalize the preparations in-game. No reason to fill all my slots even then either, I might need to pick up something specific during the day to respond to situations.

I really wouldn't mind at all if I could be put in a party consisting exclusively of good characters - I plan to fiddle around with Holy Word, and that one gets iffy with neutral characters.

If that doesn't work out, that's okay though - it just means I'll have to shuffle some things around to get Magical Lineage and Selective Spell in there.


I have returned with my character crunch complete. I humbly present Lucian Threl, half-elf fighter/rogue. In combat he is a front-liner who can deal damage and take it in return, although focuses more on dealing damage than taking it. He will use both acrobatics and feinting to get his sneak attack damage out. Out of combat he is a very good scout and trap finder, as well as a decent face with high bluff and sense motive checks. I have an idea for his personality that I will be adding in the next day or so. I always appreciate feedback!

Guided is not a valid PF weapon enhancement. It comes from one of their 3.5 modules.

I'm not very inclined to allow prestige classes, though as I already have once, it is something I'll consider once I see the build. I don't recall dragon disciple being all that broken, so give it shot.

Right now looks like we're on schedule for 2 tables of 6. I'd like to get them both going soon, but I can simply start the first table with the six ready presently.


Alright, I am finished properly. I might change a few things when actual play starts for my own convinience or adding different wildshape forms. Anyways what changed is I added familiar and 3 wildshape forms.


One thing I should note- you cannot shapeshift or polymorph into a form outside of the bestiaries (basically based on someone always using the 4 armed gargoyle form).


I am reconsidering my build, on the basis that even Mooks will not be that easy to kill on Mythic and a Blaster really is only there for the Mooks.

It won't take much to adapt my build to a more combat-orientated role, so I'll basically be Arcanist//Magus (Kensai), though I may add Something More Martial to the magus side, and I may pick an archetype for the Arcanist. The idea is to be like an Eldritch Knight, with 9th level Spells at 20th level from the Arcanist and the magus Arcana Broad Study enabling me to cast them via Spell Combat. I will end up as a BBF (Big Buffed Fighter), some buffs having long duration (e.g. Mage armor, Greater Magic Weapon) being cast at the beginning of the day while others (Haste, Mirror Image or Greater Invisibility) being cast during combat to enhance my Fighting (via Spell combat or quicken)

That would have been nice to know before hand. Well finishing that part of the sheet will have to wait for tomorrow, it has all the relevant info anyways.

That's no problem for me. If I polymorph it is most likely to be into an Air Elemental as I plan to go for DEX based combat.


@The Dragon - Oh dang, I'm sorry. I forgot that I changed his archetype from knife master to scout. That's my bad, I didn't make the change in his header.


It's quite all right. I can't edit it though. I'll need to mess around with my character too, just noted that guided weapons aren't allowed.

There are a number of ways to deal with this:
-I already have a strength-focused version floating around. It had full plate, and it was glorious. Dunno if I'll go back to it though.
-Guided Hand. This will require messing around with feats, but that's just how it goes. Will still need to do something else for damage.
-Make something else. Always a valid option.

Edit: Hmm. As for that last one, I've wanted to play a paladin//monk ever since I started reading this. No reason it couldn't work out. And sohei get to flurry in armor, so that could be fun. It's a shame I can't put Champion of Irori in there as well, but there you go.

Yes, it is a downloadable option. Searching for it on the site will get you instructions in downloading and installing it.

It is a checkbox when you are choosing character options. Once you have selected that, there will be a gestalt tab. The way it works if you take a level of gestalt, then the levels of the two other classes. Then you go to the gestalt tab and select the two classes you've taken so they gestalt together.

I assume you imported the download into Herolab already.

You get used to it. Even if there's a fair bit of tedium involved, it's still a lot easier than making the character by hand.


Also ready to begin whenever. We may not have a strong arcanist as of yet, but hopefully we'll be okay.

Also, I don't know if you've looked, but I didn't bother to list all the mundane adventuring gear that Aramus has on him and his horse. If you want me to go through a list, I can do so, but I figured it'd be easier to avoid the tedium of picking out little things like that if it wasn't necessary.


At 13th level I'll assume you have the normal stuff (deluxe dungeoneering kit).


In today's news

Legendary adventuring party kills lich-dragon-warlord in brilliant six hour battle and destroys his entire undead demon army. Then was found starved to death due to lack of mundane equipment, like trail rations.

They are made to go together. I realize I did it the most cheesy way :) If I do them as they are intended (i.e. on the same side of gestalt), would that be acceptable? That means I don't double up on defensive parry and I lose the fighter feats of levels 8-13.


Well I wont be able to do it tonight, but I think It would be neat to see how this guy fares when cranked up to eleven :)

He is an alchemist (mindchemist) bard (archivist), he is absolutely BRILLIANT as he adds his Int check to his knowledge skills twice and knows just about everything :P
He is also a mad bomber with really poor eyesight, high grade explosives and near nearsightedness go hand in hand it seems :P

I have a few questions about him tho,
1: can I take the Oblivious drawback without gaining an extra trait just because? (minor, but really fits his concept)
2: He has some troubles with the racial specific options :( Can I use any of the following?
He is a Human alchemist with a focus on bombs.
Alchemical Trapper is koblold only, but lets me place bombs on the ground as mines (minor, lets me have another option)
Rocket Bombs are goblin only but can turn your bombs into missiles >:) (Cool! this one I care about the most)

Lastly, Breadth of Experience is a dwarf only feat, but I had been using it on him and reflavoring it as College Experience.

Would it be ok if I used any of these? If not, I would probably take Racial Heritage: Goblin and get the rocket bomb discovery.

Next question. Firearms. The Explosive Missile discovery looks like a fun one. Are firearms allowed, and if so, how prevalent?


Question:

If I'm a Hunter/Shaman, can I somehow grant my animal companion the benefits of a my spirit? Ie, the familiar stats and abilities?

At 16th level, a Nature Shaman can do this as they get an animal companion then, so I was wondering if with Gestalt, you would allow me a way to do this at our level instead.
