I got a really good shot in just now, Sir Knight, but that bastard has already burned half the city. STUPID DRAGONS!

Taket |

Slight retcon if that is ok DM Mathpro - I forgot I had bought a magical whip :P Will cast Divine Favor instead.
"From my father's side of the family, I hear they are good baked over a hot fire - don't think it would agree with my delicate palate though" - Garrosh snarls back with a smile - "And that's half" - he finishes, wading in on the closest giant.
Once he is one step behind and to the left of Skarn, his whip lashes out at the giant they are facing, attempting to bring the massive creature down.
Going for a Trip attempt.
[dice=Trip]d20+29
If he falls, I get an AoO due to Greater Trip:
[dice=Whip, 2H]d20+8+5+3+3+1+3+1+4-3 +4 is from Paired opportunists if it applies.
[dice=Damage if it hits]d10+21** spoiler omitted **
Please do check my math as I have never played a character that trips :P
If you have greater trip next succeed everyone threatening gets an AOO, not just you.

Round 2 Wrap up
Boran you are unable to move into flanking position but are able to attack the Giant. Garrosh your attempt to trip the giant succeeds and he looks awfully surprised you were able to take him off his feet with your whip. Lashing out with your whip a second time you feel it bite into the skin and tare through it. Those that are adjacent to the Giant(Boran at this point) will get attacks of opprotunity(check my math please on the rolls in the DM rolls spoiler). Borans swing goes wide as some blood drips into his eyes. Skarn lays into the giant with his heavy pick after moving into position. The Dragon is still flying but bites himself. Taket moves into position and attacks the prone giant and strikes another killing blow. Just as you begin to celebrate a little bit Skarn you feel a heavy metal object try to pierce your armor in the back but the weapon skips off of it just as another giant blinks into existence. He swears as the attack wasn't successful and gave away his position. Taket tries to demoralize him but it does not work. Wren you start casting summon monster 6. Nadezdha you unleash your deluge of arrows into the sky and one of them lands in the dragons tail releasing a spray of blood. Two others land in its body but he still flies.
Boran AOO:1d20 + 11 + 5 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 5 + 1 - 3 = 212d4 + 5 + 1 + 9 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 + 1 + 9 = 20

Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Totally clueless about who this giant might be Taker rages at the audacity of the attack he just witnessed. What type of cowardly giant sneaks up and attacks people from invisibility?!? He says in Giant as he steps adjacent to the giant and into a flank if possible and and opens up on him.

Guys, I don't want to spoil the fun but, even though I love the design, I'm not making heads or tails of the map. Where is the giant who just attacked Skarn? Is the one next to all of us dead? If so, why is he still in the map? ;)

Wren summons 1d3 ⇒ 1 dire lions into the map. Only one lion appeared, but he brought it into existence flanking with the powerful barbarian.

It's up here, called "Nadi's Maps"! GM hasn't put a link on the thread yet but that's okay cause you can always find a Nadezdha post nearby;)

Skarn Hornfels |

I'm unable to view the map from here, but I gather there's a giant on me, so at worst, I'll 5' step and start whipping up on him!
My weapon is still a Giant-bane weapon. I am Power Attacking, and this is "big Game" and a giant. And I have the two judgements going.

Taket |

As Akarn's heavy pick strikes the giant a second time Taket comments through clenched but smiling teeth You fight well, for a dwarf. I am a little surprised you can reach high enough up to reach the vital spots.

Skarn Hornfels |

Skarn hears Taket over the din of battle and responds, "how ironic, I was just thinking that you fight as well as a female elf I knew one night."

Yee gadz, Master Dwarf, save some for the rest-of-us!

Ha! he yells at the dwarf's taunt as he attacks. I think I like you master dwarf. About that elf girl... Did you bed her, or she you?

Wren Chavali |

"Shut up, you lot, or I'll turn all of you into toads! We still have a dragon and more giants than I can shake a wand at here to deal with," Wren gripes at the others.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Garrosh simply chuckles at the apparently casual exchange going on between his old and new fighting companions.
"You're welcome" - he nods as they make short work of the giant as he falls down between them. His eyes are fixed on the dragon however.

Skarn Hornfels |

Skarn gestures towards Wren, "that one? By the First Vault, no. She talks too much, and complains too. Here now, the story isn't free, it will cost you at least a dozen draughts at a decent bar before you get even the name of the horse!"

DM Mathpro |
Round 3 wrap up
Boran you are able to 5' step and attack the giant but all three of your attacks bounce off his armor. You are also unable to recognize him. Garrosh lashes out with his whip and is just able to wrap the tip of it around the Giants foot and pull him from his feet. Lashing out two more times with his whip both attacks connect. Skarn all three of your attacks land with your pick. You also recognize the Giant as the one your looking for, Terakinus, the leader of the giant army. Taket you are also about to turn and get an AOE on the giant, which lands soundly. Boran you also lash out with your blade as the giant falls, scoring a hit. The dragon bites its self again for 13 damage. Taket you take your mighty swings at the now prone giant and your blows strike true but fail to finish the mighty giant off. He cries out "RETREAT" before muttering a word and poofing out of existance. The remaining stone giants begin to pull out of the city. You are free to attack if you wish but they are leaving now. The dragon however is to confused to follow the command.
Boran AOO:1d20 + 11 + 5 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (11) + 11 + 5 + 1 - 3 = 252d4 + 5 + 1 + 9 ⇒ (1, 2) + 5 + 1 + 9 = 18
Dragon Action:1d100 ⇒ 57 Really...fricken confusion
Dragon attack on self:2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 1) + 9 = 13

Wren Chavali |

Did the giant cast defensively or would there be AoO's on him?
"Finish the dragon! Don't let it flee...we might not have this good a chance again!" Wren calls out as she sees the Giants moving away.
The Mage casts Suggestion on the dragon, asking it to come down to the ground, so the group might be able to better speak with it.
DC 22 Will to resist.

Skarn Hornfels |

That dragon is confused anyways, so it should want to keep attacking whomever attacked it last, right? No need for it to roll if it has been attacked.
As near as I can figure, we did over 200hp of damage to that giant, so he's a badass! With respect to his readied action, the fact that it is readied, or not, is not the determining factor on whether or not an AOO is provoked. The determining factor is what the action was. If the action was to cast a spell, use a spell-like ability, or most uses of an item, then it provokes. The chart in the CRB will tell you if it would provoke or not.

Boran |

Forgot takets attacks...yeah...he's dead. Well done guys you killed the leader of the giant army. He doesn't call for retreat so the stone giants are still pillaging the village.
Not sure if that's good or bad...
Unsure of the giant's importance, only that he took more of a beating than the others to bring down, Boran turns away from the corpse and surveys the battle.

![]() |

Mr. Orc (Garrosh), would you be a dear and cut off their leader's head, and show the rest of these giant pansies he's dead?

Taket |

Taket calls out again at the defeat of the giant leader, bellowing his rage and victory, but alas there are no enemies close enough to demoralize. He his new companions. Well fought. he offers. But there are still rampaging giants to be rounded up. Shall we?
If the other giants are too far away to reach in a round or two he lets his rage drop as he begins to work out a plan with this new group on how to take out the giants.

Skarn Hornfels |

"Any giants we kill today, are giants we won't need to face again in the future. Which one next?"
Skarn will move with the group to take out more giants. If this looks like it's gonna take a bit of hustling to get to the next one, Skarn will throw down expeditious retreat so he can keep up.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Mr. Orc (Garrosh), would you be a dear and cut off their leader's head, and show the rest of these giant pansies he's dead?
"And why not miss Fairy?" - Garrosh snarls, then moves on to cu off the leader's head, drawing a dagger from his waist and setting to the grim task - "Is that dragon done with?" - he adds.
We may be taking just too much a risk by ignoring the dragon?

Skarn Hornfels |

So are there giants near us? Is the dragon attacking itself or our archer? I imagine the answers to these questions will help determine our course of action. If there are no giants near us, I could switch to my crossbow and start helping on the dragon. Otherwise, I could handle giants while the archer handles the dragon.

![]() |

My thought was that the Giants would quit fighting if they knew their leader was dead, and our scary Orc was the best person to "convince" them...but if that fails, then *shrug*

DM Mathpro |
Dragon will be attacking the archer and there are a group of 3 giants with in 30 feet of you if you wish to take on that challenge. I'd say you guys need to concentrait on that dragon. Mind if I act out of init order for a sec to set this right?
After becoming a pincushion with the archers arrows he snaps out of his confusion. Seeing Garrosh cutting off the head of his master set him into a rage and he swings back over the group breathing fire on them and then lands next to the archer, letting out a menacing roar or challenge.
Dragons breath attack:8d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 6, 5, 6, 2, 4) = 38
Everyone post their actions against the dragon or the group of giants if you don't wish to take on the dragon and those not under protection from energy can make me a reflex save.
