Animal Companion + Eldritch Heritage?

Rules Questions

So if you have an animal companion with Eldritch Heritage, would you count HD as level, or would it be your druid level -2?

how is your animal companion getting eldritch heritage? and it probably would be 0 since they don't have character levels.

It is unlikely an animal companion will have sufficient Charisma to ever acquire that feat. Beyond that, it's unclear--probably zero.

Monstrous Mount Hippocampus, +2 to cha from druid levels, +1 to int same source, skill focus, and Eldritch Heritage.

Or you know just give it a headband for the +2 cha.

Or a wolf that is a Vampiric Animal Companion, with a +2 headband, +1 to cha, and +1 to int?

Well I was just curious if animal companion was a class since it does have archetypes, features, feats, etc.

Archetypes are simply modifications to the animal companion class feature. Feats and the like are awarded based on hit dice. "Animal companion" is not a class.

Welcome to the grey area my friend. While I do not see anything that specifically says you can, I also do not see anything that says you can not.

While Hit Dice are not Character Level, Character Level is Hit Dice. IMO, as long as you can get to the required CHA, I would approve it. However, this is a grey area in the rules, so do not expect every GM to agree with it. There are some inherent problems, thematically, with bloodlines for animals.

Probably the most accurate description of "Animal Companion" is to call it a +1 CR Template applied to an Animal.

This is brilliant, I've so wandered what I could use the 14 charisma of the Velociraptor/Deinonychus. Now he he can have his own Compsognathus familiar hahahaha.
