Undines What are they good for?

Advice

Silver Crusade

An Ifrit makes a good Sorcerer with the elemental fire bloodline

A Sylph makes a good Wizard.

An Oread seems to make a good Monk

So what are Undines good for?

Any advice would be helpful thanks.

Probably a caster Druid, possibly Cleric, could do fairly well as a dex-based Monk with an agile amulet of mighty fists, I'd imagine.

To join up with the other three (+ a cleric of Shax) to become captain Planet?

I was thinking of making mine a Waves Shaman and focusing on snowball for comedic effect but I'm waiting for the final version of the ACG and I tedn to drop comedic gimmicks somewhere between thinking they might be funny and actually playing the character.

- Dex agile monk
- Caster druid/cleric
- Dervish dancer inquisitor

I rolled a Gunslinger that doesn't have a problem going for a swim.

What do you mean? They're delicious!

With a swim speed and Amphibious, they're great in any game that has a lot of water travel. Empyreal sorcerer.

An undine PC is cleaning house as a monk in my Razor Coast campaign.

Aside from the two builds that the race itself tells you, they'd make good Soul Archers, or any flavor of Soulknife with the Focused Offense blade skill to mitigate the Strength loss, especially a Gifted Blade.

Don't forget oreads make good melee fighters in general, but Aquaman-with-guns, and a casting-focused Cleric/Druid seem like your best options. Undines also make better Rogues than Halflings (the "Iconic" race for the class, solely due to Darkvision and a Wis boost.

Though 7 rp feels disproportionally low for what I assume wasn't meant as a joke option (Unlike, say, Kobolds). The Oreads are in a similar boat, too.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (dammit ninja'd by ciaran)

Agree with most of the other posters. Monk, gunslinger and Caster Druid/Cleric tend to be their best output classes.

I have a caster druid for the skull and shackles adventure path and it is working out quite well. Swim speed has saved more than one party member.

They can use Hydraulic Push to perform a variety of combat maneuvers from several feet away. So that's a thing.

I've had good fun playing one as a dagger-wielding Swashbuckler (the ACG playtest class). Piercing weapon and swim speed? I'm ready for aquatic combat any time.
