Antipaladin - Ganondorf

Advice

So, I want to make a 'totally-not-Ganondorf' one-shot villain for a campaign, and I want to make him an Antipaladin.

I know nothing about Paladins or Antipaladins or anything else, so help me out. I'm thinking Twilight Princess style, armor, magic, longsword, and potential transformation. Maybe.

What do?

First off provide information on what level the party should fight him at, and which materials (books, SRDs) you use.

Second, if you really know nothing about paladins/antipaladins, go read the classes.

Ganondorf strikes me more as a sorcerer type than Anti Paladin really. But, giving him Anti Paladin and Sorcerer levels would be a great blend for him. Give him transformation spells also, that's a thing Ganondorf does often.

Not sure what the bloodline would be, perhaps shadow. Sorry for the brief piece of advice, I'm sure others will give lots more.

All documents, presumably level 12-13, and I know enough about Paladins, just not the optimal build ideas for them.

I dunno, he strikes me as either a Magus or a Sorceror rather than an antipaladin. Unless you do a gestalt?

Have you played the fight against him in Twilight Princess, though? He rides in on a horse, summons ghost riders to run you down, uses limited magic, and dismounts to fight you blade-to-blade.

No sorcerer in their right mind is going to use a sword against a sword-and-board fighter in an on-foot 1v1 battle.

And an Eldritch Knight will do that.

Would you have him as a Teifling? or half orc?

But Magus or eldritch knight works great for him.

Not saying you're wrong, but isn't Twilight Princess set after Ocarina of Time? Ganondorf is definitely a mage in OoT.

Shadow Sorcerer/Antipaladin/Eldritch Knight or something sounds good, but you could also go Eldritch Scion Magus all the way. He really really needs some strong transmutation spells though. I can't remember the last time he had less than 3 forms in a boss fight.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd also equip him with some wall spells. You always fight him in a caged off area.

If the party is fighting him at 12-13th level, then you could easily make him a 15th level character with some Bublin (reskinned Orcs? Bugbears?) minions who have class levels. Maybe Antipaladin 2/Sorcerer 6/ Eldritch Knight 7? He'd be a 12th level caster, giving him one 5th level spell. Monstrous Physique 3? At 4th level spells, give him Communal Phantom Steed, Wall of Fire, and Lesser Simulacrum (for Phantom Ganons).

could also go with a bloodrager--medium armor, good at swords, loads of transformation stuff...

could also go the hyrule warriors route and make him a horseless dual-greatsword wielding engine of destruction (dip 2 in titan mauler barbarian, continue the rest in antipaladin).

Eldritch scion magus would be my go-to option. Not sure which bloodline. Arcane, maybe.
