Thanks, DMK! Grim is going to spend 2,000 gp to have his masterwork adamantine greatsword magically enchanted to be a +1 Adamantine Greatsword! This sets him up for his next purchase - adding the shock special ability! (At least, once he's accumulated another 6,ooo gp!)

Yes, congratulations for another great game.
So, has all 100 games been online?
Not all of them. I did manage to gather 90 of my credits from PbP games. I've tracked the start and end date of my games as well, and I've put them in a nice little graph.
I've got a secret agenda where I'll be using my consistency as an argument to be able to run bonekeep and such on the boards :)
Marra follower of Dawnflower |
Nice graph, it's not surprising that first steps is the longest since it is a longer scenario usually they take twice as long as the regular ones.
looks like the second longest one is may be a longer scenario too.
Are we playing part 2 of the scions of the sky key in the same message board?
DM Kludde |
The other long one was a really slow-moving library of the lion game. I've been a bit more aggressive at kicking games along since july, the only really long games I've had since then were a Veteran's Vault game, and the Beacon Below (which was just insanely long).
Yes, we can do Scions II and III in the same thread. Saves electrons :)

Not sure if you saw my comment on your Year of the Sky Key spreadsheet, so I'll repost here.
Concerning the #6-15 scenario "The Overflow Archives" that will be made available on Thursday, I'd really like to play it with Skarn, but I also wanted to play another scenario with him on Sunday (a tabletop one). So would it be possible to start 6-15 on Sunday, please? Or at least to allow me to join the scenario properly at that time?
DM Kludde |
Looks like we haven't rolled for day jobs yet in 6-13. So let's do that now...
Regarding the start of 6-15: That would suit me better as well. I'm starting quite a few games this week. I'll start with Scion II today, when it comes out, and set up the other one over the weekend so we can start on monday.

Day Job (Craft (Alchemy)): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 Pre-gen's skill, can we do that?
DM Kludde |
I've updated the chronicles (link)
Thanks all for playing again. We'll start the next game (5-15) on monday. I'll set up a thread before then.
DM Kludde |
I've put up the link for _6_-15 here (link), so you can already get used to the surroundings.
DM Kludde |
@Shifty: you can always bring a pregen if you don't want to build a new character.
Also, posted elsewhere on the web (shameless plug for a side project):
Barmy as a spire god
If you've ever wondered what life on the 'other side' is like, this is for you. I'm starting a planescape (the good old 2nd ed Ad&d setting) pilot module, just to get back to my DM-ing roots. This setting is much less battle-heavy than Golarion/PFS, and very much philosophy based. If you want to know more, look here (link), and give me a shout or a pm if you're interested. I'm looking for people who enjoy a nice bit of roleplaying, and it doesn't matter to me at all if you're unfamiliar with the setting.
Rhanloi Ehlyss |
Oohhh...a good role-play?!!? If I wasn't at capacity already I'd join for sure! I had the Planescape computer game =) ...you wake up in the morgue, a scar-covered figure with no memory of your own but a message tattooed on your back...
DM Kludde |
I'm really enjoying the 6-15 game, but you guys should let me know if I get a little too carried away at some point :-)
Shifty |
6-15, It's pretty trippy.
When we got the animal mash-ups I gathered this was going to be oddball, and frankly it has delivered because I'm still totally confused :p
That said, the Kavaa trilogy is so far showing itself to be loads of fun, and I hope they make more like it. I'm getting my head around the Delays mechanic (I think) and it seems to be linked to some GM narrtive, if X time, Y effect - and thats awesome.
DM Kludde |
We're nearing the end of 6-14 (is it me, or is this one incredibly short?), so can I have the usual rolls and information?
Pitbull |
Dunno, it was a bit short, but at a tabletop that chase scene would have chewed a fair bit of time in rolls and resolutions. Still, it was a cool instalment and I am really keen to see the third one and the resolution!

Yes, the chase scene would have been half the adventure.

I can see the chase scene being a great role-playing / story-telling opportunity! Can't wait for Part III =)

I've put up the 6-14 chronicles. I wonder what the last episode is like.
I've put up the planning for the games up to 6-23. I don't know how much access I'll have to the specials/exclusive (I think I should get at least one of them), or whether I'll be allowed to run them as PbP, but I'll keep you posted...
Grimaldus |
Grimaldus advances to 5th level!
- Gained 10 hp (HD+Con+Favored class)
- Improved Sunder
- Weapons Training
- Added 1 rank to Perception, Kn(Dungeoneering), and Kn(Engineering)
Purchased potion of bull's strength from chronicle sheet.
DM Kludde |
I've only run them on the boards, once. They should be a cool intro to new players, and there's a nice mix there: some combat, some role-playing, and there's even a somewhat coherent story to it (you've got to explain the setting a bit - your players will have to know what kind of place Galt is, Razmiran, etc.). Existing players might enjoy as well (if they can get over the whole 'running a pregen' thing).
The advantage of the quest is that you don't have to mind time so much. The disadvantage is that people will like to do all of them, and there may not be time for that (the PbP ran quite a bit longer than other scenarios, so I'm guessing this is not different in F2F).
The quests are a free download, so you might just want to have a glance through and see if they work for you.
As for reporting: the reporting systems doesn't really care about how many quests you've ran. I had a group that went through all quests, with a single player joining halfway through (he had already done two quests). I've reported everything as a single group. Depending on the setting in which you'll do this,
If anything, they're pretty easy to run, so you should have your hands free for guiding new players and building a good story.
Did anyone else run it?
Shifty |
As a F2F game it might be good for running them split over a couple of sessions perhaps. They might be good for a bit of beer and pretzels session playing... I can't see any brand n00b sitting down for a 6 hour session and grinding away - so I'm guessing a bit of spread was the thought.
I was tossing up running them as PbP, but in pairs - so that I didn't just run it as one continuous session necessarily, so that players could drop in or out at whatever time...
It almost sounds less convincing the more I look at it as a PbP proposition - the story goes its supposed to be 1 session reported for every four hours play (which would be notionally 3-4 quests in F2F) but that doesn't easily equate in this medium.
Hmmm, ponder ponder...
Anyone else interested in playing through? (general question)
I might just give it a crack and see what happens.
DM Kludde |
We're almost at the end of - by far - the trippiest scenario I've ever seen. I'm looking for the usual PFS#, day job, faction info, while I mellow out...
Skarn Moonbane |
I'm really sorry about remaining in the background of that scenario, but as a non-native speaker I'm having real difficulties understanding what's going on. I'm enjoying it, but I must admit I'm also very frustrated by not being able to interact as well as I would like to with those strange NPCs...
That being said, the tooth fairy part I did get, and found it hilarious!
Anyway, here goes:
Skarn Moonbane

Thanks a lot for running it!

Here's the scenario translated - I think there must have been mushrooms involved, but it was a lot of fun!

(...) as a non-native speaker I'm having real difficulties understanding what's going on.
I'm sorry to hear that now. Just out of interest, can you pin-point the parts that confused you, or where you were unsure?
Also, as a non-native speaker myself, I think I got most of what was going on, but perhaps someone can fill me in on the really subtle things.
Also, props if you manage to guess the answer to the riddle. It's a hard one (though fair).
DM Kludde |
Can somebody fill me in: is there any particular reason to call the fish the 'big sleeper'? Is that from some kind of nursery rhyme?
