If you want to catch up, they've been going on here
I'll move them to this thread from now on for easier visibility

And now "The Vigilant" have moved up into 27th place, bumping a bunch of people down. and Pushing "Reading between the lines" out of the settlements

There are three groups with pending applicants who, if only they'd check in and approve them, would improve their selection-order by three, five, and seven places. It's the power, in this first week, of one or two votes.
Sadly, I'm not one of them. My maple syrup strategy seems to be failing me.

"I hope you don't mind if an old pathfinder pulls up a chair, waits with you all?"
Damocles places an impressive bag of Pathfinder Chronicles down. "I figured these might come in handy, they're a collection on political processes and land grants both here and abroad. They might give us some guidance on the process."

Thanks for the space at your table. You still have to learn a lot! - In the last moment he bites down the 'young lad' that is on his tongue - this after all being an elf'
History is written slowly - it has happened around us for a while now. This moment if just a snapshot - it needs what has happened before and will feed into what will come - otherwise it won't make sense.
Yes - one day we will claim it was this precise moment when history was written - well - that might be the case because I have 'written' it - but to be able to chronicle this precise moment in time I have been watching for the build up and even afterwards I will have to make inquiries and check my facts to ensure what I write is as precise as possible.
Yes - there is power in this quill - power that one day might lay the first stone to a kingdom to be build - or causes the first cracks in a kingdom to crumble.

Theodum nods to the newcomer. His eyes light up when he sees the chronicles.
Thanks - these are very useful. The history as written will never be perfectly accurate and objective. Dictators employ chroniclers to ensure history is written in the way they like. Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. It depends if these stories are picked up - as other scribes pay less attention to these 'bought' scribes.
At the same time it is easy to copy - easier as to write yourself - so much too often a misguided history finds it's way into the books.
The more subtle way is to have a chronicler in high esteem and feed him information - sometimes that can buy you what gold never would be able to.

Sheesh, 5 guilds that were 1 vote away from landing a week 1 draft. That is gonna sting. Lots of room for maneuvering next week though!
Even worse. Five only missed out because they they didn't apply soon enough. Losing a spot to someone with one more vote than you isn't as bad as loosing a spot to someone because they set up their banner an hour earlier.

Well it is called a land-rush. It's not quite the same as traveling west as fast as you can to plan a flag in the ground before someone else, but it is pretty comparable.

@Bluddwolf that is what we were hoping for Aragon the whole time you have been ahead of us. ;)
Our top pick is in SW, you?
Not there, so as far as we both know our first picks are safe. Once the announcement and all of the picks are known, let the negotiations begin!
I'm at work so unless they post the results here, I won't know until I can access GW site. Even then, The Goodfellow will get the official notice, he started the settlement.

Phantasmagoria just got an icon.
The importance of that - they have been the only guild in the top 33 (according to my bookkeeping - there are multiple ties at 6) who didn't have one.
The Lion Council - also 6 but behind Phantasmorgia still doesn't have an icon.
First signs something is happening at GW behind the scenes.

It depends on when the guild was formed, that is how ties are broken. No conspiracy theory.

Presumably the 9:00AMers at GW on PDT will be starting work in a few minutes. With a bit of luck, we're a bit over an hour away from some news.
Sadly for me, I have to go do some real life stuff. I hope people will keep this thread active, and, more importantly, be nice to each other. If we don't, who will?
Good luck everybody, and catch you in a while.
