Polymorph spell - material component cost advice

Advice

Since i'm gonna have an alchemist in the campaign i was wondering how can i handle the cost and rarity of the material component cost (a piece of the creature whose form you plan to assume) that most polymorph spell require.

Is it something that can be "fixed" with eschew material ?

Or the more powerful a monster is the more rare are is pieces?

So basically how do you deal with this with your local alchemist/polymorpher?

Thanks in advance for any help

Eschew material eliminate only cheapest material...like Guano etc

Technically, it eliminates materials without a listed value. So the king's toenails are covered.

Would the king's toenails be any more valuable than any other humans?

Unless otherwise noted, polymorph spells cannot be used to change into specific individuals. Although many of the fine details can be controlled, your appearance is always that of a generic member of that creature's type.

And, yeah, I'd say elven toenails are pretty valueless. As written, generic body parts have no value, and you have what you need in your spell component pouch. Eschew materials just means you don't need the pouch.

I have a bizarre image of a king making cast-off bits of his body (hair, toenails etc.) into part of the currency of the kingdom and worth an absurdly high amount of gold, just to stop those pesky wizards and sorcerers from polymorphing into him.

Sovereign Court

It would have to be more than 100gp
