I actually asked them to lock my "Krump Farewell" thread, so I had no problem with that.

A few were locked. A few more are *poufed*. Weird.

Well, they weren't really "digital heartburn" anymore -- more like "digital xenomorph blood IVs" . . . . Sure, I was a rotten jerk usually always on the political stuff, and always will be, but I'm not gonna miss those threads. AT ALL.

Not a fan of my posts gettin' ghosted, but of a thread locked? Meh.

I don't care about threadlocks - they're locked for good cause most of the time. The disappeared ones though, are puzzling and highly out of character for Paizo.

True.

Depending on what the material and topic was in the thread, though.

Several of those post-election threads were... exceptionally inflammatory.

Agreed. The threads that the mods decided to delete in their entirety really deserved to go, IMAO.

Honestly, I've just been hiding the purely political threads. If I want to get fired up/rant about politics, there's always Facebook. I come to gaming boards to escape from reality.

IDK, I find I have a much better discussion here at Paizo than on FB about......anything. Clearly YMMV.

Meme fests on FB are way more entertaining, though.

I wouldn't know, never been to Facebook personally.

I do not Fakebook.

I'd be posting every five minutes, would be late for work, miss work, get fired from work, lose the Internet, in very quick order.

IN ADDITION:

When the *head of the company* attempts to prevent his information getting out into the *company*'s offering, that's a decided show of lack of faith in the product.

I know of one of the deleted threads. It was designed to start a flamewar. Frankly, the poster should have been banned for that, but I think Paizo's walking on eggshells for now.

I hope they're not. If I'm being a jerk and don't realize, I fully expect one of the mods to slap me and say, "Stop being a jerk!"

They can consider this post my consent to do that. I may not like it, but I'd rather have that than destroy the community.

Walking on eggshells isn't good.

Oh, I'm sure they slapped him up good.

Metaphorically.

I know of whom you speak. Retribution was swift.

Boy howdy, wasn't it?!!

And . . . thorough.

Reminds me of the definition of "nemesis" from the movie Snatch.

Never saw it. Enlightenment, please?

The quotes page for the movie on IMDB has the answer. Can't copy and paste it here. Little too vulgar.

Now I'm confused.

Guys stop. If you really want to know something, PM it. Definitely don't bring up other posters by name.

This is good advice.

I just assumed it's none of my business. I find I don't get myself in a lot of trouble that way.

Tracked that tidbit down. An . . . extreme definition, to be sure.

And I haven't read any name-drops. Nor typed any.

That was me.

Kobold Cleaver was right, so I deleted it. :-)

Ah. Been too wrapped up in PbP and adjusting to new work ownership to catch more of your self-edits, cap. :)

I think the point is not to keep up with it. :-)

Sometimes it's fun. Perhaps less so in this specific instance, but --

I'm keepin' mah eyes on you!

Yeah there were a few posters over the last year who drilled down on the minutae or seemed to enjoy pointing out some sentence in some random product that seemed to contradict some earlier statement of James or question his creative control. I don't know if its a RAW mentality creeping into how some folks view the setting or what.

I hope I never got that bad with all my Sorshen questions.

I think PFS fosters that. With so many things banned or unusable, people rely on their RAW definitions to play what they want. So, they milk it for all it is worth. Obviously not all PFS players are like this...

One of the best lines from Rift (the MMORPG):
Defiant-but-inebriated minion: You're not the boss of me!!
Frustrated overlord: I am very specifically the boss of you!

Unfortunately, there are enough of them that they've pretty much turned me off PFS.

On a different note, I'm really bummed that the trolls chased the Creative Directosaur out of his AMA thread. That said, he really went above-and-beyond to keep up with that monster and keep things civil. I haven't met him personally, but Mr. J. really seems like a true mensch.

Pathfinder Rulebook Subscriber

Is he done with it for good, or taking a hiatus?
I hope it's the latter. He had some great info in there.

I wish I knew exactly what happened. Hopefully, it's just "bummed about election, annoyed at snarky posters, taking a break for a while." One of the parting comments expressed about James' seemingly declining creative control, but now we're getting into rumor territory...

I'm not sure it was trolls. No inflammatory posts were obviously deleted, but it could have happened by stealth overnight, I guess.

I imagine it was the election and a seemingly growing dissatisfaction or disillusionment at work. He replied to a few how are you questions in a negative way the past few weeks, and seemed to take the revelation of some elf culture bits in Strange Aeons really badly. I hope he feels better and he doesn't rush it.

Think I may have gotten the "The Republic" thread locked. My apologies and a shout-out to BNW, CBD, TJ and others for my indiscretions - love you all madly and hope to engage in a gaming specific and more fun thread in future!

Might have been me as well. I mean, take a look at some of my posts...

Honestly and IMHO I think all you two were trying to do was try to bring some sanity to peoples viewpoint and say "Hey, the other guy may have a point. Don't totally disregard them. Listen and put yourself in their shoes."
