Hey Everyone,

I have a bazillion prestige right now after a long period of slow advancement + Borderland Keep (generates +1 prestige in place of day job).

Aside from Pathfinder Society Field Guide and the the Pathfinder Society Primer, are there are any other sources of vanities or prestige purchases? I have a whole lotta' prestige I need to spend.

[edit]

p.s. Thank you for the responses!

3/5

This was actually something I was looking into and really havent gotten too much of a response other than the resources you just mentioned. I wanted to create a real-estate baron and see all the prestigue point items I could buy. Ive not seen too many new options for this.

Note, there are some scenarios that let you spend prestigue points for various items, feats, etc.

I think that's underutilized because it jumps to 6 PP if you're outside a settlement with 5000+ inhabitants.

What book is The Borderland Keep vanity in? (At first I thought you got a boon from playing a PFS version of the old skool D&D Keep on the Borderlands!) Lol.

Ah, ok. Thanks.

Not to spoil the party, but if you are on slow advancement everything gets halved - including Prestige Points.

Dark Archive 3/5

Would it still get halved if it is like a day job? I can see the arguments for and against. On one hand, it could lead to huge amounts of prestige saved up and nothing to do with them. On the other hand, if you are on slow advancement you are assumed to be using more consumables throughout your career.

Dark Archive 3/5

Also, something to use your prestige on that I mentioned above, cheap consumables. My magus has wand wielder and about 5 wands purchased via PP so he never runs out of things he can spell combat with.

The boon he has very likely works at full effect even when on the Slow Track.

5?

and here I was worried that I was falling behind the wand race with only 16 - I did just make 10th level though...

for a while I was trying to be sure to get at least 2 wands every level... but I slacked off these last two levels...

(not all paid for with PP though - the partially charged ones are easier to get with money, and PP won't buy ones over 750GP)

Dark Archive 3/5

He is only level 3.1
All I really need for now are vanish, true strike, unseen servant, clw, and shield. I will try and pick up a few more utilities later once I have a raise saved for.
The character is a blast to play while using the wand of vanish. Attack, wand, then five foot step in a random direction while invisible. This keeps them guessing. Eventually, when I have an imp familiar, I will have even better wand action economy because I can do this and metamagic shocking grasp or defensive buff every round.

As mentioned, Don, the prestige point granted by that boon wouldn't be halved by being on slow advancement, as it is in place of the PC's Day Job.

As a matter of fact, that boon is about the best reason to go slow track, especially since it costs 15 PP to buy it...

For those who want to know:
The boon is from the chronicle for the Fangwood Keep module.

I can see no use for the boon if it doesn't work at full speed on the slow track. It might in fact be useless, but that would be kinda cruel.

Keep in mind you can't end up gaining more prestige than your fame using this boon, so if you are going to start hiting your fame, you'd best start spending it. My slowtrack character buys a lot of vanities. Currently: Armiger of the Order of the Chain, Squire Follower, upgraded personal physician follower, herald follower, Eagle Knight [available to her from a different boon], going to be gaining Hellknight as soon as she has enough fame. She also has spend PP on a few wands and potions (fly, oil of daylight).

It still works in normal track, but you gain half the extra prestige per level you do in slow mode(max 3/lvl normal vs max 6/lvl slow). I have this boon on my level 4 Magus and he will be going slow as soon as he can, when I hit level 5.

Someone message me the scenario that has the Eagle Knight boon. I thought those were just for Andorans.

An Eagle knight-hellknight, Kigvan? How does this work. You are breaking logic man.

Silver Crusade 4/5 5/55/55/5 RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

There is a Cheliax boon this season which allows you to purchase a prestige award from another faction (within limits).

5/5 *****

There is and the idea of a Hellknight Andoran Captain tickles me pink. I quite like the idea of a Taldan noble title as well.

Dark Archive 3/5

Well, my sorcerer is already a CN armiger, let's see how crazy he will be by when he retires.

Dark Archive 5/5

I am steadily rising towards the ranks of the Hellknights, but at some point I plan on offering my healing services to both the Eagle Knights and the Lion Blades. After all, the Midnight Lord delights in your suffering, regardless of where you were born or who you serve.

There is a boon from a particular module that I have used to become an Eagle Knight, with that character.

Micheal, I look forward to that, hopefully I can earn it.

Define work?

The earliest you can play it is 3rd level.

each level you get back (at best) 3 prestige.

12-3= 9 3= 27.

The way you're reading it at BEST, through your entire career you can get out of this thing is net gain of 7 prestige. 4 prestige if you play at 4th and and hopping 1 prestige if you play at 5th- at the cost of all your dayjob checks.

I didn't do the math, but you are correct, it would be pointless at 5th if I was keeping him on normal track. Unless you are running a pregen and applying it as a 1st level chronicle, the character needs to be 3rd to receive credit for the module, so would be 4th after applying it. At best, he will need to be 3.1 to have the prestige as a pregen/GM baby since he only gets 4 prestige for one level from the module.

In any case, I am going slow with him, due to the boon and as I like playing him. He also needs 1 more prestige and will be level 5 before I can use the boon anyway.

I read somewhere that you can get a wayfinder for 1 prestige, but I cannot find it in any book. Anyone know about this?

4/5 * Venture-Captain, Pennsylvania—Pittsburgh

Wayfinders cost 250 gold. You can spend 1 prestige to purchase an item valued up to 375 gold. The Guide to Organized Play has more details.

4/5 *

Wayfinders are only 250gp for Pathfinder Society members, as per the Guide to Organized Play. You can spend 1 PP to get a free item of 150gp, so not a wayfinder, but there is a Chronicle that has a special arrangement.

Wrong numbers there...

Notwithstanding buying one outright with gold or prestige in the traditional sense, it's listed on a chronicle. Since you have "read" it somewhere, I believe this is the option you are referring to.

I recommend asking Janira Gavrix, as she is known to impart monogrammed Wayfinders on up-and-coming Pathfinders for 1 PP in one of the re-playable scenarios.

Note that with that boon that you are not gaining prestige, but regaining them... maxing them at your fame, not above... this is of course assuming my memory is correct...

Actually, the max is your current Fame, but you can go above it, by 1 from the Boon, then spend it immediately, so you end with your PP no higher than your Fame at the end of reporting, or so it has been explained to me.

It's gonna be a while before my PC with that boon gets back that high on his PP, assuming he manages to not need any major payment in the interim, like a raise dead or some such...

Has someone made a consolidated list of all the vanities/items/etc that can be purchased with prestige points?
