So I'm in a thread and a bunch of people get bent out of shape/calling each other names over how one does or doesn't justify limiting playable races in their game.
Really?
I know the snarky sarcasticon response: that's what these boards are for or whatever. But c'mon, REALLY? Are gamers more sensitive or prone to outbursts than anyone else? Is this what WE are as a collective group?
Please: read the rules for the boards, there's ONLY 3. Otherwise remember what our parents/schoolteachers/guardian types taught us: be kind, or be quiet.

I find this offensive.

You know what get's my goat? The use of REALLY. The proper adverb to use is SERIOUSLY. As in "Are you seriously telling me this?" reduced to a word. Put REALLY in there and you begin questioning a reality that you are actually responding to. It doesn't make much sense. ;)
So without further ado: Ok now...SERIOUSLY? You think this area of the internet is worse than others? Have you SEEN what is out there? This is a blessed garden of Eden compared to most boards.
EDIT: Oh I know where you are coming from, but people have been declaring that others are having "wrong-bad-fun" since gamer messageboards were created.

The thread doesn't seem that bad... but it's just moving SO FAST I can't chime in at all. Everytime I refresh the page there are at least 20 replies.
That's because like many of these threads there are people that aren't reading what is being written, they are latching onto something to post angrily about.

Shenanigans. Implicit Shenanigans.
If you only read the censored ones, you people are missing the [censored] point.
p.s. How many times do we have to ask for a sarcasm font before somebody gives us one? doesn't the internet have a FAQ or something?

everything I type IS sarcasm...I was a Drill sgt (for a couple rotations), I can't get that out of my programming now. :)
Better you than me, mate. I could never get the hang of talking in ALL CAPS every day. I just did the AIT cadre bit, we got to do the subtle sarcasm.

Knox drill and Sill AIT, but I was the only Drill Sgt. in my cadre with combat deployments, and I was kinda a softy on the guys..no reindeer games, unless they REALLY pissed me off, then it was smokehouse time, till 3 inches of sweat on the killzone. :)
Anyway battle..there are civilians watching....:)

The first thing my drill sergeant [Training Instructor..Air Force] told us was that I will remember his name until the day I die...
Tech Sergeant Balmer and Staff Sergeant Rodriguez...1983 Lackland AFB.
I've forgotten my own mother's birthday...but I will NEVER forget their names.
