Lamb is often my preferred dish at a nice restaurant. Palomino in Indianapolis makes a nice braised lamb shank, for those who like such things and go to GenCon.

Dear me that sounds good. But the timing/location of most american cons simply make them utterly innacessible.

Butterflied leg of lamb for me please marinated in rosemary and garlic olive oil and red wine vinegar served up with fresh pita and tatziki. YUM or just carved and served with mint jelly and roasted potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise.

Damn your sultry orcish temptations gruumash. I shall have to eat you instead. Orcs go well with rosemary & garlic olive oil right?

I have always wondered why do lumberjacks like pancakes sooo much...?

during the "green gold" of Michigan the lumberjacks eat pancakes of flashbacks because it was cheep to cook and very filling. it was also difficult to make bread in a lumberjacks camps.

Just finished off a big batch of Irish stew with lamb. Slow-roasted a couple of shanks first, then boiled the meat off the bone to make the stock. Made a great dinner and kept me set for lunch for over a week.

Yes Shout we go well with about anything preferably marinate us though as our meat is tough. If you want fine meat that is tender and juicy I would suggest elvish meat or Halfling is pretty good.

Human kind of tastes like chicken. Dwarf is old and tough. Gnome is really gamey. For my money, since I'm on a budget and all, you can't go wrong with a bit of young tiefling. Naturally savory with a bit of a kick, and you can get a variety of parts.

This thread should be renamed "stop it, you're making me hungry"

{levitates into view wearing apron & tidy moustache, and carrying notepad} Ah, the Donner Party has arrived. Allow us a minute to push some tables together, and then we can get you all seated.

{begins to panic} Oh dear, I seem to have forgotten my snooty French accent in my other uniform.

So lucky. I must have been chanelling my earlier desire for lamb, because when I went to see some friends, they were making lamb. Yum.

Or, just imagine the unasked question of the thread title to be "what should I eat today".

Tonight I'm having tom yum/miso soup, to help warm me in between sessions of shoveling.

According to those in the know, it actually tastes like veal.

My family owns a greek restaurant, and roast lamb on a spit in the front yard with herbs and lemon periodically sprinkled on it (that's often my job) it is insanely delicious...yes the movie had that stereotype correct.

Not a huge fan of Greek but I'll put feta cheese on anything.

you are good people.

I took Latin in HS (a thousand years ago) and as our senior outing Mr Countryman took us to an old greek restaurant in Greektown in Chicago. I loved it all: the lamb, the stuffed grape leaves, the onion-salad thing. That kicked off a life-long love of all Mediterranean food for me.

The only thing I didn't get into for some reason was baklava. I can't explain it other than to say I'm not much for sweets and honey is insanely sweet to me for some reason.

Seriously though, if anyone knows how to do seafood or lamb correctly its Greek cuisine.

In an unrelated note... SNOW! I spent all night snowblowing AND shoveling, then had to blow out the drive this morning again. I'm short so the drift on one side was as tall as me. This...is...RIDICULOUS!

As a dweller of the socialist dominion of Canada, I walk out the door and "snowglide" through the impossibly high snow banks.

Greek food, and Mediterranean in general, is some of my favorite.
There's this place in Madison called Mediterranean Cafe, and it makes THE BEST moussaka. It's almost always sold out by the time I get there though :(

I want it to be spring right now. I miss farmer's markets. CL's talk of pepper jelly reminded me of the many F.M's around our house here and how awesome fresh produce and preserves taste. I'm so sick and tired of comfort-food dinners and being stuck in our house.

This reminds me of how much I tend to associate people's avatars with random gender/size/age/etc, especially when it is identifiable. It becomes especially confusing when there are individuals who have a female avatar but a very masculine name (Chris could go either way, but I would rather not assume and offend someone).

A wonder how many people inavertently start thinking that way. Do people think of me as a blank void?

This Chris is indeed female. (You'll see a lot of people quick to correct when someone gets that wrong) The other Chris (Chris Self) is male, but he doesn't post down here quite as much. Hope that helps.

That's good to know. There are a few folks here with fairly masculine sounding names & female representations, so it does get confusing sometimes. Cant remeber anyone at the moment though.

You know we do. :)

All this talk of horseradish has me wanting some prime rib. With the Atomic Hot horseradish. Wish I knew where to buy it. Stores around here only sell weaksauce.

To treat myself, I'm gonna have a poutine tonight. Great fries covered in cheese & sauce... Heaven. I've even gotten my hands on some lamb, so I'll mix some in.

Tonight I carb loaded with jalapeño focaccia bread. JUST DANCE 2014 WORLD DANCE FLOOR IT IS ON O_O.

I still want to know who's the Paizo anti-Chris.

Also - freshly baked mini-baguette with butter and a cup of tea is a nice breakfast.

Though I may make one more and see if it doesn't get even better with Nutella instead of butter.

My friend's 9 year old daughter likes to call me "Christosterone." It's equal parts alarming, adorable and confusing.

Add sprinkles or 100s&1000s to the Nutella for amazeness

Favorite way to eat Nutella:

Two Pizzelle, one with Nutella and the other with good raspberry jam (preferably made by my father). Make a sandwich.

It will blow you away.

So far this morning I've said the phrase "I am totally qualified to do this to your computer I swear", almost fell down flight of stairs (but didn't!), and found my pretzels. I'd call this successful.

PS: The pretzels are covered in dark chocolate >.>

why is that computer full of pretzels and dark chocolate

I've never hear of a pezzle before.

Abd apprently it has it's own tool.

Is it a fried cookie or am I ready that recipe wrong?

Can I substitute with a choc chip cookie?

It's like a wafer thin waffle cookie. You wouldn't want anything with a strong taste on its own. Pizzelle is mildly anise flavored.

This reminds me that I need to buy a waffle iron. Frozen ones just don't cut it anymore
