WU TANG FOREVER!
fast forward to about 3:14 ...but I dont know where the sample is from, but I can guess it might be a Shaw Brothers flick?

(Voiceover) "This great evil. Where does it come from? How'd it steal into the world? What seed, what root did it grow from? Who's doin' this?"
This one's still on the table but I'd like to offer another from a different movie;
Man: "Hey boss. Got a question for you. Why did you make so many suckers? You say, 'love never endeth.' I say love never started. You say 'the meek shall inherit the earth.' And I say all the meek can count on is getting the short end of the stick. You say, 'is there one among you who is pure of heart?' and I say not one."
These are two of my favourite non-nerd movies.

Wow - can't believe I didn't get this one on my first pass by it (I think the 1st quote was messing me up :D ) but the second quote is right from a towering classic in 50s sci-fi movies
The Thing from Another World (or just The Thing more commonly. Later remade in 1982 by John Carpenter of course). Truly a fantastic movie any fan of horror and sci-fi owes it to themselves to watch.

You are correct. Also whole heartly agree with you on this classic. There is still one scene in it that I think is scarier than 99.9% of scenes from any horror movie since.

Yep. The Scorpion informs a guilt-ridden Snake of that fact in the best martial arts flick ever, The Five Deadly Venoms.
In addition, that's the first 30 seconds or so of a Wu Tang Clan song I've ever voluntarily heard. Just not into rap or hip hop.
At least the sample was cool. :)

drunken_nomad |

Maybe I chose too obscure a quote?
Maybe. I dont know. I think a lot of these would be guessed faster if we could hear the audio sample. Sometimes its hard to imagine even the scene or if its a man or woman or robot saying the line. Some of the ones Ive put on here I thought would be gobbled up faster than a hobo on a ham sandwich. Put another on here and see what happens.
Speaking of that...and the last thing I posted on Jaelithes quote, what about:
Even if one's head were to be suddenly cut off, he should be able to do one more action with certainty. With martial valor, if one becomes like a revengeful ghost and shows great determination, though his head is cut off, he should not die.
or what about:
There is only one god, and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to Death: 'Not today'.

Man: I called Mama. She was so happy she cried! She wants you to have her wedding gown. It's white lace.
Woman: Yeah, Osgood. I can't get married in your mother's dress. Ha ha. That-she and I, we are not built the same way.
Man: We can have it altered.
Woman: Oh no you don't! Osgood, I'm gonna level with you. We can't get married at all.
Man: Why not?
Woman: Well, in the first place, I'm not a natural blonde.
Man: Doesn't matter.
Woman: I smoke! I smoke all the time!
Man: I don't care.
Woman: Well, I have a terrible past. For three years now, I've been living with a saxophone player.
Man: I forgive you.
Woman: [Tragically] I can never have children!
Man: We can adopt some.
Woman: But you don't understand, Osgood! [Whips off his wig, exasperated, and changes to a manly voice.] Uhhh, I'm a man!
Man: [Looks at him then turns back, unperturbed]: Well, nobody's perfect!
