Congrats... I concur that San Antonio would benefit from its own VO!

Nothing personal against you Mr. Caldwell, but the venture captain for San Antonio should have been picked from amongst the gamers in San Antonio. I hope that you're up to the challenge of advocating for us and securing prize support for us from afar.

Braeden and Dave Woodfin (VC of Austin) are both available to help San Antonio. When a qualified candidate steps up to become VC of San Antonio, then you will have someone picked from amongst the gamers of San Antonio. Until that time, if you want prize support from afar, you will need to work with one of these two VCs. There is a reason Braeden's title is listed as Corpus Christi and not San Antonio.

Congratulations.

Please select just one person. i had 2 VC's that were suppose to be helping me, one would tell me one thing, the other the say the opposite. It was very confusing. I then would have to ask the only person i knew who would give me the correct info, Mr. Brock.

I've selectd both to help San Antonio since we don't have a VC there yet. Luckily, since you live in Eastern WA, this won't affect you.

@Aurum Currently in Victoria we play every other week at All for One Games, we have a facebook group as well as a warhorn page for scheduling.
The store is open every day so any other time that people want to run games is available as well.

And in response to people asking about when I will make it up to San Antonio, it will be as soon as I get in contact with stores in the area to schedule an event. Same goes for Corpus Christi, I plan on making headway on this task within the next week.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Braeden, we already have venues in San Antonio. The VLs we had until recent events did a wonderful job setting everything up.

Shadow Lodge 1/5

Our previous VO's were doing an outstanding job with event coordination and new player recruitment. We also had a really good showing at San Antonio's Chimercon thanks to Steve Lau's hard work! Our local group regularly fills 4-6 tables every other Saturday and several tables during the week. I was puzzled and disturbed by the inexplicable removable of our VOs by leadership. I hope that the Pathfinder Society leadership (including both Austin and Corpus Christi VCs) find ways of supporting a mature, established and growing player base in San Antonio.

Congratulations Braeden!

I have the utmost respect for all of the players and, apparently, former officers of San Antonio. They have all been great to game with in my experience. However, let's realize that Braeden has nothing to do with whatever happened in San Antonio and not bring the politics down on him. I will fill him in on the Obsidian Portal information and get him in contact with Dave (if he isn't already) so that he can attempt to come in and make a seamless, temporary transition.

Once upon a time we had no Venture Captains at all. We still coordinated conventions, ran games, and had fun. There's no reason that the people of San Antonio can't continue in the same voluntary capacity. The only thing that changes is prize support, and I'm sure Braeden will do a fine job of helping you in any area that you need. At the very worst, I'll be right here helping him until he's completely up to speed on the way we've done things for the past five years. The good news is that this means I'll be travelling to San Antonio and Corpus Christi for game days much more often, like I had always intended to do but never found the time for.

Also, Dave Woodfin was one of the first Venture Captains in this game, and the very first in Texas. I'm sure there will be no problem with miscommunication, because Dave has plenty of experience dealing with these things by now.

Grand Lodge 2/5

Demoyn, as you apparently do not reside or play in San Antonio, you probably have no idea what the situation is in San Antonio because of 'politics'. Perhaps you should venture here and determine what the situation is currently. Braedons desire to be in the politics is rather irrelivent as he is going to be in partial control of the region. He is going to have to be part of it simply because of his position.

Everyone in San Antonio, thanks for the support in voicing our want of our own VO but let's not bring our complaints into the public, as mentioned Braeden is not actually our VO both him and Dave in Austin will be acting to assisit us.

And to Braeden I would suggest instead of trying to contact local stores here in San Antoinio for setting up Events, you contact myself or Jen and PJ since we have been organizing events at all the stores and conventions in San Antoinio for years now. No reason for you to try to re-create a wheel here that is already been rolling for years.

What we can use from you as we do from Dave in Austin is for Prize support for events and your presence once in awhile so people can bring up PFS concerns to you in private instead of the forums.

Like I said looking forward to your visit!

Edit: *laugh* that last statement by me made it seem that I was looking forward to meeting Braeden so I can bring my complaints to him, that is not what I meant. As Mike can confirm I already bring my complaints directly to his inbox or in person when I meet him ;)

With that in mind, I was actually planning to take a trip up to San Antonio next Saturday to drop in and introduce myself if there is anything planned (and to play a little if the opportunity presents itself).

Go ahead and email me or shoot me a message to my account here so I can get my bearings of where I should be headed.
