There's somebody on this planet who isn't Sincubs and hasn't seen Neon Genesis Evangelion?

I know a few, yeah. I'd fix it, but there's other anime I need to make them watch first.

It's kind of like all these awesome APs that Paizo keeps making (see what I did there, with the relevance and on-topicness).

Errrr...

But, on the bright side, I'm more likely to watch it now. :D

If this AP includes power armor, I may suffer an awesome-induced stroke.

Yes. I blame Mikaze, he set up a mind control device at Paizo booth and linked it to the customer database. He has now ASSUMED TOTAL CONTROL.

Hmmz bad news for me, I hope Bestiary 5 that same year will make it up for me, and in that bestiary not only Numeria stuff of course.

I haven't seen Evangelion. Evidently many of my homebrew plots overlap with theirs. It's really annoying.

It's because Eva is a 40-car pileup of plots.

If you're to watch one anime series in your life, make sure it's the one with the best mecha on mecha action ever.

What little of Evangelion I've seen has made me dislike it enough to avoid seeing the rest. I loved Gurren Lagann though and I've been highly recommended FLCL for a crash course of weirdness, so it's not the creator, just the specific product I don't care for.

But that's not important right now =)

Ya know, I love Paizo and I hope this AP is super popular, super successful and I wish nothing but the best, but ...

Personally, this is the first AP that holds literally no interest for me. Sure, I loved Expedition to the Barrier Peaks when I was a kid, but I just have no interest in lasers, robots or space ships in my game. Heck, in my version of Golarian, Numeria does not even exist at all.

Don't get me wrong - if we're playing a Start Trek, Star Wars, Gamma World etc RPG, then sure! Bring on the robots and lasers! But in my D&D/fantasy game? Nope, not for me. Sadly, I think this will be the first AP that I will have 0 interest in playing in.

Like I said though, more power to Paizo for doing this AP and I really do wish nothing but the best to them on this. I'm just personally not even a little excited about it (or the supplimental material, including maybe even the Numeria-centric Bestiary that might be on the horizon :(

So I have gathered. I probably will never see it because I somehow managed to spoil it for myself even though I've never seen it. Bah! Humbug.

After 14 more-or-less traditional fantasy APs, I think it's about time for a turn to the wild side :)

Well then you must be a terrible person with no appreciation for the finer things in gaming life. ;-)

[^ Yes, this is a joke. Let's not take the thread down the badwrongfun path we explored with The Mummy's Mask. Deal?]

At least there are plenty of other great APs for you to play in the meantime! :-)

Structure is going to be a bit more Rise of the Runelords.

Spoiler:
there will be new mechanical gods. Some good, some bad, some that haven't decided what they are yet

Brain collectors/Dominion of the Black will come into play in at least one adventure

Brigh is pretty much a lock for a god article

Zephus and Sivannah are strong contenders IIRC

The last book is titled "The Divinity Engine". I can't be certain I'd recall the others accurately.

The correct pronunciation of Brigh was a matter that came up. ;)

Also, I think Mummy's Mask is getting god articles for the real world Egyptian deities worshipped in Osirion. (someone tell Set!!)

Well duh, The Rebuild is not a remake but the sequel. I thought Anno made it clear by making someone with white hair say it something like what... 5 times now?

So yeah, it would be pretty dumb to watch the Rebuild before the original serie, you won't cry and shout at your screen if you just watch Rebuild.

I happen to find that a plus not a minus. :P

Anyway, enough fanboying about off-topic stuff!

Edit: Seriously, when has Anno made anything clear? Well except for

Spoiler:
Kaji being dead.

Does this plot remind anyone else vaguely of Dream Pod 9's Tribe 8?

If so, you're a cool person for knowing about that game.

Hmmm, that last book really seems interesting... When did the starstone fell on golarion again?

Maybe there are no gods, but only very powerful robots, and you get turned into an android when succeeding the trial @_@

TriOmegaZero wrote:

Spoiler about Anno being clear about Evangelion:

Spoiler:
Kaworu is always talking about "this time", or that it seems like shinji is always the same and "we'll see each other again", and stuff like that... but that is only one of the many proof that the rebuilds take place after the end of evangelion...

Grand Lodge

I know, I'm being facetious.

What kind of person are you if you know of the game, but always thought it symbolized the worst of the pretentious alt-gaming trend that arose in the late 90s/early 00s?

What a wonderful year 2014 will be!
Between "The mummy's mask" and "Iron gods" we have two very exciting APs!

I suspect we will get NPC Codex 2 in 2014, and if they do a bestiary instead it's probably going to draw heavily on sci-fi to support the AP (see Bestiary 4 with mythic monsters to support Mythic adventures, and Bestiary 3 with Asian monsters to support Jade Regent)

The sort of person who can look forward to seeing what was cool about that idea redone in a fresh and better way that isn't pretentious but really fun?

Though if you found nothing cool about it, then I suppose we have to hope for the best and that it is nothing like that.

Ah, that. I actually tried it once, but I think I didn't get farther in than about 10 minutes. Mecha robots is an absolute NO-GO. The silliest science fiction concept ever imagined. I could never take anything serious that has stuff like that.

I double checked Wikipedia to see how crazy I was for hating that game, and the introductory paragraph was an extreme version of the old White Wolf Capitalize Normal Words and Create a Lexicon for Every Single Game. After that was a list of Important Sounding Gods and then I got bored and came back here to remind you that you're a bad person for liking this game.

Ok, maybe not, but I'm not too worried that Pathfinder will jump into the deep end of the storyteller pool on this AP. That was the element I found least compelling in Tribe 8.

I like to think I found the good in those games, and many others besides (Rifts?)

The wonder of youth.

Right back at you Jim - I never actually read the game, so my opinion is more smoke and noise than informed commentary. I have a similar, but much deeper, hatred for Exalted.

But I do love me some Mage (original flavor, not the Atlantis version).

Its pretty daring of Paizo to release a Tech-Fantasy AP to coincide with the launch of D&DNext.

It could be a + or - for them.

TECHNOCRACY FOR THE WIN!

This will be my last derail, but I am so excited about the Mage 20th Anniversary edition that is being written right now. For those who don't know, an update clean-up of owod Mage with the original author as primary developer.
