Unarmed Fighter gains DR/X while grappling, Brawler fighter can stop foes from moving without actually grappling, and the Tetori Monk gets grab, constrict, and the ability to block grappled creatures from changing form or teleporting/planeshifting out. All are very useful abilities, it just depends on exactly what flavor you are going for.

Perhaps a sweet multiclass of the two would be in order :)

Lore Warden 3 is almost certainly going to be the best; lots of feats and +2 to CMD.
Str: 8 Int: 13 Wis: 12 Dex: 22 Con: 12 Chr: 5
Fighter 1: Improved Unarmed Strike, Agile Manuevers
Fighter 2: Improved Grapple
Fighter 3: Weapon Focus: Grapple
For 2 PP you can get an armband that gives you +1 to grapple.
So your CMB for grapple:
-1 (size) +1 (item) +6 (Dex) +3 (level) +2 (Lore Warden) +2 (Improved Grapple) = +13... not bad for a small creature at level 3 with no "expensive item" access. And with a mithril chain shirt (that will be brawling once you can afford it), you're looking at an AC of 21 with no magic.
