No spots have been taken yet, just seeing if there was enough interest to even form a recruitment thread.
Answer: There is!
So there'll be a recruitment thread sometime in late June or maybe early July (as I have the whole first week off of work), depending on the prep work I get done in advance.
Any chance you could send out PMs to people who've posted in this thread once the recruitment thread is up? I don't usually hang out on that forum, and I don't want to miss it.

I can certainly do that, yeah.

Excellent. I look forward to it!

Any updates? I'm really looking forward to playing this. I was actually thinking of playing such a game before Ultimate Campaign was even announced, but there was no easy way to do such before.
I have some thoughts. To actually get migrants to our fortress, we'll need some kind of trail for them to blaze. That might be a part of the caravan portion of the campaign, but we'd have to do it fairly early on or it should be quite difficult to get the numbers of people that are necessary to claim hexes or build settlements. Also, it's likely that there will be a time between establishing our first outpost and getting enough people to actually start a kingdom. At that point we'd just be dealing with one fortress. Fortunately Ultimate Campaign has rules for constructing buildings. We might have to decide if we can start with different types of capital, and perhaps we could gather them while still in the caravan stage.

I assume Summoner will be banned (since it always is, despite my strong desire to try one), so I'll likely submit a Bard or Druid?
Rob allowed a Merfolk Synthesist Summoner in his other campaign (One I'm in as well), so don't necessarily think that. More likely, your background and roleplaying skill will determine if you get in or not, not your class. I mean that Merfolk mentioned above is in a Reign of Winter Campaign. :P
(Also can't wait for this campaign to start up meself)

That excites me, I really hope that's the case. I've had a Summoner in mind for a while that would be perfect for this. I may even multiclass it a bit, which would further negate the absurd power that the Summoner supposedly has.

Definitely interested. Have had thoughts of doing something like this for a while.
Love Dwarf Fortress. Have two Vampires locked in rooms in my current fort. One's my Bookkeeper, and the other's my Manager. No need to eat, drink, sleep, or go on break, so they can work 24/7. ;)
If I had a pair of vampires, I'd have both of them constantly extracting Adamantine Strands. Stuff takes forever to extract..

Hey guys, for those interested in playing or modding Dwarf Fortress itself, theres a neat little community project going on in which they are creating the world (and whats in it) from scratch.
So far it looks like Halflings will be replacing Dwarves, though I hope to introduce a playable enemy race to the Halflings - Vegipygmies! >:D

This is madness. I approve.

Crustypeanut, I shall do that now. Thank-you :)
Edit : Right I have just read a couple of the links to the Dwarf Fortress and all I have to say about it is this, It looks very confusing to get the hang of, but it also sounds very appealing. When everyone said it was insane I didn't even think it could be that insane, but I think I am just overwhelmed with the "maps". I am even more curious to see how a campaign based on that would be done, but it looks like my Paladin fits in this campaign even better than I thought.
