And now for an anti-climatic announcement! This is my blog. Just as work has sucked away all the time I used to spend on Paizo, it has also taken most of the time I spent blogging.
RPG Superstar 2012 Mike Welham stepped in and began a Friday creature feature, then he put the pedal to the mental metal and created a monster for each day of the A-Z blogging challenge. Here you will find some wonderful offerings for your Pathfinder game, many with some surprising extras tied-in at the end.

These are definitely worth checking out. There are many real gems in these, not just in the A-Z feature, but in his weekly "Frightful Fridays" contributions, as well.
One thing that I particularly enjoy about Mike's work is that he almost always tries to find a way to make the monsters useful as more than just something to hit. Whether it's the addition of a fun magic item, or a way in which the monster can be useful or interesting for PCs, he manages to expand the value of monsters beyond the realm of creatures not meant to survive a single encounter.
I should also add that, when he's adding his own material, Mairkurion has some thought-provoking and entertaining content of his own, so you should come for the monsters but stay for the mythopoeia!

This has been a lot of fun. When Mairkurion not so subtly initiated a challenge to stat up monsters based on an illustration, I couldn't resist. Six months and 51 monsters later, I'm grateful to Mairkurion for prodding me to do this and for providing me a platform for some of my wackier ideas.
I'm hoping that the end of the school year will mean more provocative posts from Mairkurion, but I'll be continuing on with my Friday creations.

+1 for awesome stuff coming out of this. I wish I had the drive and endurance to pull off this kind of stuff at the rate Mike does, and even that quickly he always kicks out something of exceptional quality. Nothing less than would be expected of someone Superstar =)

I've always kept up with the Mythopoeic Rambling blog, but Friday's are the day I read it slow, see... slow. Because Friday is where the monsters live. Mike's time releases what amounts to a free bestiary. It may take 26 weeks, but then there's your book's worth of inspired and entirely-usable creatures and for free.
Many of these monsters derived from crazy art, photos and photo mash-ups paizonians threw at him, screaming "Shallonge!" and yet Mike always rose to the challenge... even when it meant statting up a small blue and white wing'd kitten made interesting enough to want to drop into an adventure.

Mike's work is truly amazing! I eagerly await Fridays as I am always keen to see what monstrous creation he has made out of the random pics we throw at him (and as one who has thrown more than my fair share his way I am super interested to see how his vision take my mundane thoughts for the pic and transforms them into the perfection I've come to expect from him. :D
But of course you're quite welcome to stay for the regular blog as well. Mairkurion's occasional insights are worth the wait. :)

Even the cute ones? They're furballs of hate. Just waiting to take my hit points.
Mike also likes to (in)directly kill my PCs in real life.

Yeah, I hear you...if it's being added to on any regular or even irregular bot not rare basis...there's more goodness to come. I SO appreciate that.
It's just that I don't always expect to have internet access wherever I might game...and it would be a sweet thing to have...and use. :)

The slug is a newly discovered species found in Australia, and that is its actual color. Here is the link to the story.
What would constitute "proper precautions" for using a Hemorrhagic Slug? The drow bit gives me terrible ideas.
Something like elemental body III or troll oil to prevent bleed or discontinue bleed after it starts should do the trick.

oh they live...how else would I throw the next terrifying thing at them. heh wait until my slenderman game starts, many of these creatures just scream madness driven apparitions.
