After five rounds of intensive competition, amateur game designer Mike Welham has won RPG Superstar 2012!
RPG Superstar is the largest annual tabletop roleplaying design contest. The popular vote of paizo.com's more than 200,000-strong fan community chose Mike Welham's Doom Comes to Dustpawn Pathfinder Module proposal. Welham will receive a contract to write the full adventure for Doom Comes to Dustpawn, which will be released in January, 2013.
On behalf of the judges and Paizo Publishing, as well as the many voters, congratulations again to the rest of our Top 4 contestants Steve Miller, James Olchak, and Tom Phillips.
Congrats, Mike! I look forward to working with you on Dustpawn.
To the runners-up, if you want to write for Paizo and accept a forthcoming offer to write a Pathfinder Society Scenario, then I look forward to working with each of you as well.
Great contest, folks! You should all be really proud.

Congratulations Mike!
Commiserations to the other three, especially Tom - it was really close between you and Mike for me, but I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities for you to do other stuff for Paizo
The name of the module isn't in flux... I've been a fan of the title from the start, so it's got no fear of being changed, now that I've decided I actually do like the adventure being set in Dustpawn... ;-P
I know this is Mike's moment, but I also know he is a magnanimous badger...
Big congrats go out to Tom, Steve, and James too!!! We also eagerly await your Pathfinder Society scenarios and more freelancing projects from you all (Paizo and/or 3pp)!

It wasn't just tough for you. This was the closest RPG Superstar contest to date, and less than 2% of total votes broke a neck-and-neck tie in the final counting. So while Mike may have come out on top for writing this module, what that means is that we know folks are interested in all four of these authors, and you'll likely see all their names on other products, including Tom's.
Oh wait...no it's not...this is pretty damn awesome. Congratulations and nice work, badger. This may be enough to put you over the top of the enemies list and onto the admired and respected list.
Congrats all, most of all Mike. I look forward to seeing the module. As for the others, I look forward to other spectacular work, congratulations for making it this far.
Spectacular showing, everybody! I'm looking forward to releasing your future works through Paizo's webstore.
I'm also going to give a shameless plug for everybody to submit articles for Wayfinder. If you want a taste of what it's like to write for the RPG industry, it's a great way to get your foot in the door and get some writing credit. :D
And to the others! It was a long hard road - getting this far says a lot.

I am not surprised the voting was close, but I will say I am happy with how it turned out. And I get to keep the adventure in Dustpawn? That is sooooo cool! Thanks, James!

I can't agree more. One of my very first RPG writing credits appears in the inaugural issue of Wayfinder.
Congratulations, Mike and thank you to all the participants this year. It was amazing to follow along and I'm looking forward to seeing all of your future work.
Hey, Mike. Congratulations! It's pretty cool to see another NC guy take the prize and you had a lot of adversity to overcome during your run. I told you to turn awesome dial all the way up and then break it off...and you did...right when you needed it most. Good luck on your upcoming writing opportunity with the 32-page module. Not to put any undue pressure on you or anything, but it doesn't get any easier from here. Doom Comes to Dustpawn had better rock...or else. After all, I know where you live. ;-)
Congrats, Mike! The folks you'll be working with in the development process will shepherd you along the way of creating your module and it will be a blast!
Congrats Steve, Tom and James--developing a PFS scenario will be equally rewarding.
Congratulations, Mike! Good luck, and speed with all that's ahead!

I don't know if I can possibly be in the same rarefied company as Kobold Cleaver and Sharoth.
