With you now taking over part of the AP development (along with Crystal and Amanda Hamon Kunz), do you think this thread's going to see a spike in popularity?
It's entirely possible. I expect that I'll be answering most questions that are relevant to the Adventure Path in the AP section of the boards, though.

Also, any chance that Strange Aeons will feature flumphs in any capacity? They seem a remarkably good fit, given their new role in the cosmos in PF.
There are no plans at this point to include a flumph in Strange Aeons. I don't think that their goofy vibe would fit a theme of weird cosmic horror.

I've said this before, but being introduced to Flumphs through Misfit Monsters Redeemed I've never seen them as goofy, more nice and innocent and helpful, a fragile light in the darkness.

Thank you! That article is a good example of me doing my job in redeeming the flumph, but I'm afraid there's a lot of history to fight against in getting these noble creatures respected in other circles. (Especially their treatment in a certain comic.)

Thanks, Adam. I get it, the flumphs have been a running gag for thirty years. I was just hoping that this AP would be the one to redeem them, as I suspect that we won't get another one this in their wheelhouse for quite some time.
Thanks for your continued flumph support. :) Since I'm developing this AP from James' outline, I think I'd have to fight him in the parking lot to be able to include flumphs in this AP. :)

Does this sort of thing happen at the offices a lot?
If so, who among the staff can you take?
Who is the sneaky ninja type, that just stands there waiting...
How many people does it take to take down Bulmahn?
How long does it take Wes to set up his theme music?

Or you could just ask? :3
If that doesn't work then fight!

Nah, not really.
I don't know. I'm a pacifist.
If we expand the options to gninjas... Lilz.
Enough. (Or one big spider.)
Not long. He's quick.

So...will Ruins of Azlant reference anything related to Serpent's Skull (as a majority of that AP delves into ancient Azlanti history) or Shattered Star (given the presence of a Veiled Master in it)? Should I be prepping my hypothetical character for this AP with ties to my PCs for each one?

Crossposted in AMA threads: it's a Paizopaloozaganza!
Adam.
Aaaaaaaaaddaaaaaaaammmmmm.
Super-serious series of questions*:
* Nnnnnnope.
If you could have 1d4 ⇒ 4 different super-powers, what would they be and why?
(Assume corollary powers required to make a given power work are part of it; i.e. Since you'd need super tensile strength/durability to, you know, not-die when you made use of your super-strength power, you get them both when you say "super strength" as a singular option.)
Why?
If, instead, you could be a gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 super heroes, who would you gestalt to be yourself? Why? Which comic universe would you run around in? Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one?
On the other hand: BAM! You just gained 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) + 2 = 13 levels in a Pathfinder class (or classes)! Which class(es) do you pick, and why? Incidentally, if you could spontaneously switch races, would you? And if so, to which?
Similarly, you won the super-lottery, and gained mythic tiers! 3d3 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) + 1 = 6 of 'em! (And you gain class levels to match; please feel free to change your previous answer if this does so for some reason.) What path do you take? (Alternate option: substitute a single tier for a simple mythic template.)
Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 19 (or less) monster! Which are you?! ... and would this have been your first choice? If not, which would be?
But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official source! Which prepublished NPC is it?
What campaign setting do you run around in? Why?
As a final thing: blend any and/or all of the above questions into a single ginormous question: an optional blend of a prepublished NPC, monster, and some superheroes all walk into a bar... and out comes you, as a gestalt of those guys, the race you choose, some extra superpowers, and have extra class levels and mythic tiers on top! What are you?! (Other than "awesome" - naturally.)
Equipment is a non-issue (like adjunct super-powers; what you need to do <X> is assumed). Also note that any significant others can be brought with you.
"Official" and "Pre-published" are loose terms, but general expect something that has a solid publishing company and identifiable map/world/conceits behind it (like WotC for Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, Greyhawk, etc; or Green Ronin for Blue Rose, but not "True20"; or Paizo for Golarion, or the Maelstrom, or the upcoming Starfinder; but not "the Bestiaries" or "the Planes" or things like that - basically things that people can find and nerd out about with you). Similarly, if it has a solid AP out for it, that, too, is acceptable (like Legendary Planet; or any of Paizo's APs). It should probably be a d20 variant, but it can be whatever you like of those many variants (True20, Blue Rose, Paizo, 3.5, 3rd; etc.). That said, if a Homebrew or otherwise "weak" entry just needs to be there due to compelling reasons... okay. Similarly other systems. Let us know why! Computer and video game translations of such (Neverwinter Nights and/or expansions/sequels; PFO; etc) are acceptable as interpretations as well.
Similarly, for comics, it needs to be superheroes that people can reasonsonably be expected to come across - "that one I made up with my cousin as a kid" is an awesome answer, and worth noting and why, but prrrrooooobabaly isn't the best choice, unless it's just so powerful that you've GOT to. In which case: sure, but bring us along for the ride! Related, the super need not come from one of the "big two" in comics, so long as the people and world is both recognizes me and accessible - choosing The Incredibles world is valid (and awesome), as is Spawn (blech); you're not just limited to Marvel or DC. Similarly "standard" powers need not apply - so long as it is clearly communicable, it's fine (even if all the field specifics aren't clear, that's okay - knowing you're powered by our yellow star is fine; you don't need to know this, but it's acceptable if you do).
Finally, presume you have the basics necessary for a happy life. Your spouse, best friend, and so on, can all be considered to "come with you" (should they choose to do so) wherever it is that you go.
Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?
Thanks! Enjoy!

Jeeze, man! This is a monster. I’ll do my best.
Why?
Teleportation (that’d just be handy), invisibility (this would involve a career shift into some sort of spy or master burglar… because I’m way too much into heist and espionage movies I guess), accelerated healing (and the extended life span that goes along with that), and the ability to heal people, especially of deadly diseases (because I have to balance out the outcomes of being able to be invisible).
If, instead, you could be a gestalt of 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 super heroes, who would you gestalt to be yourself? Why? Which comic universe would you run around in? Would you prefer to be in that one, or this one?
I’ve always liked Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Longshot, so I’m gonna go with those. Nightcrawler’s teleportation and nimbleness is rad, being able to walk through walls is rad, and having supernatural luck and being a genuinely good guy doesn’t hurt. I’d of course be running around in the Marvel Universe. I don’t understand in your last question if you are asking if I’d rather be in the comic universe as opposed to the real world or if you are following up in case people mentioned super heroes from differing comic universes. If the former, I’d much rather be in the real world. Strangely it seems safer.
I’d likely put those 13 levels in either bard or rogue, for Core classes. I might go with mesmerist or psychic or gunslinger or investigator or maybe alchemist when considering newer classes. I might just do some weird multiclassing. I’d like to think that I’d have class levels in things that make me well-rounded and resourceful. Even though you can do some crazy things with magic, I think it’d be a weird thing to be able to do in real life.
I wouldn’t change my race. Humans are pretty special.
Probably trickster, if not that then guardian.
Yet another query: you monster. Specifically, you CR: 1d30 ⇒ 19 (or less) monster! Which are you?! ... and would this have been your first choice? If not, which would be?
CR 19 or less opens up a TON of options, which makes this really hard. This decision is subject to change, but at this moment I’d choose to be a mezlan, because I could be whatever the heck I wanted to be and be pretty much immortal.
But the wheels of fate-time have spun again, and your everything has been transposed into that of someone else! You've just become a prepublished NPC from an official source! Which prepublished NPC is it?
Hmmmm… At the moment, I’m going with Uanae Deepsky. I enjoyed writing him up in Distant Shores and he seems like a good guy.
What campaign setting do you run around in? Why?
I currently run around in the real world setting. Because I have to. :)
This is so not a final thing and it’s weird. That’s a lot of responsibility to go with that package.
Finally, presume you have the basics necessary for a happy life. Your spouse, best friend, and so on, can all be considered to "come with you" (should they choose to do so) wherever it is that you go.
I’d go to Costa Rica. There might be better places in the world, but I was enamored when I had the chance to visit that country. One day I’d love to move there. It has a climate that I enjoy, last year they reached 99% of their energy coming from renewable resources, they have ended deforestation, and their life expectancy rates and literacy rates rival the US…. and their leadership continues to push for more. Also, Ticos are friendly, hospitable people. Pura Vida!
If you didn’t mean real life places, I’d like to go to some place I’ve made up that has become a reality in some way. That seems like fun.
Oh, and one more thing: if you lived through a Legend of Zelda (as one of the Links); which would it be, and why?
See. That “one more thing” kept the previous question from being the last thing. ;)
I only played the original NES Zelda. I’m sure there’s better ones than that when it comes to choosing which I’d live through, so I choose that one.

By the way: even though I (sorta)* started out in AD&D, I never really experienced knew about or cared about Flumphs until Paizo. And now I think of them like little psychic/Psionic space-Paladins flumphing around using their meager skills to protect, warn, and defend those who truly cannot and prepare greater heroes to do what they cannot. The first line of defense, but a line of grooming, more, and preparation, to make each world they come across a better place to hoody seek out new life and new civilizations to boldly go where no Flumph or lovcraftian old one has gone before (or has gone before and been destroyed or put to sleep or something) and help prepare or repair and guide those people to a better tomorrow; kind of like the programs that build white blood cells and lymph nodes or a vaccine: they may not do much of the fighting (one hopes, as their powers are t big), but they are a critically important part of the process!
Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that's sort of kind of the vibe AI have for them in my head. Thank you for it!
* <qualifying statements>

Tacticslion |

It's gonna make some people sad, but there are no flumphs in the Strange Aeons Adventure Path.
Well, there weren't gonna be any in this AP, you mean...
*cackles at all the flumphs that will soon be appearing in this AP whether printed or not*
(Hint: those categories, though stolen from Gravity Falls, we're not facisious...) >:)

Thanks! I'm kinda proud of my take on the humble flumph, and it makes me happy to see others digging it too. I dislike that they were essentially a monster made into a fart joke back in the day, and it's gonna take a lot more to fully wipe that representation from people's minds. Hopefully our take will stick more in the coming years and flumphs can rise above being a joke monster.

What ARE the witch patrons of Winter Witches (since I assume they don't make Faustian bargains with Devils like normal witches do)? Winter fey? Ice elementals? Baba Yaga herself?

Mr. Daigle, is there anywhere in canon where it's indicated that "normal" witches make faustian bargains? I'm pretty sure it's implied that the iconic which is more or less "taught" magic by Desna...? Am I wrong? Is that just very abnormal?

Were flying polyps responsible for the disappearance of the Kellid tribes that originally settled in what is now Iadenveigh? Because there seems to be a Star Stelae there.
You know, I'm not quite sure what the intention is with that. It never calls out Starcaller Rock as being a Star Stela, but the big invisible worms seem like it could be referring to flying polyps. James or Ron would be able to more accurately answer this.

I know threads like this are for Adam to answer questions, but I can say I wasn't contemplating flying polyps when I wrote this. Children seeing horrors adults can't see was the creepy vibe I was going for, not any particular creature. Maybe this came from the fact I'd recently seen the movie "Branded" at the time?
For Adam, since it's his thread: are you playing in or running any non-Pathfinder RPGs now?

Adam, would you ever consider some sort of benign insect colony creature based loosely on the doozers from Fraggle Rock? Like they could make these delicious honey comb type structures, and when people wreck them for food, they could just immediately start to rebuild.
... I don't know what game purpose this would serve. But it'd be cool!

I like insects, especially benign ones, so I wouldn't rule it out.
