Final 12 Hours! IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS!

CEO, Goblinworks

Hello Pathfinder Fans!

This is the last day of the Pathfinder Online MMO Kickstarter.

We are in the final hours, and we need your help to take us over the funding goal. We're very close; we've raised 90% of the project goal of $1,000,000. But the rules of Kickstarter state that if we do not exceed our funding goal, we'll get none of those pledges. It's all or nothing.

We have two favors to ask from you today. First, we'd like you to please speak with at least one friend and explain how cool the Pathfinder Online project is and ask them to back the project. Each person who pledges will help convince others that the project has momentum and lots of support and that will snowball.

Second, we'd like you to make a post on Facebook, Google+ or Twitter about the Kickstarter, including the URL to the project so that people who follow you on-line will be able to find and back the project as well.

The URL is:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1675907842/pathfinder-online-a-fantasy- sandbox-mmo

Together we've made history with this Kickstarter. We have already raised enough pledges to rank as the 10th most funded videogame project in Kickstarter's history. Now we need to close the deal, hit the funding goal, and then accelerate production of the game.

In closing, I wanted to highlight the value of backing the Kickstarter.

Backing at the $35 Adventurer level gets you a number of benefits that have been added since the project began, including the PDF of the Emerald Spire Superdungeon (at least 144 pages of Pathfinder tabletop RPG awesomeness from an All-Star team of designers), PDFs of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook itself and the Guide to the River Kingdoms, 2 months of game time, the game itself, an invitation to join Early Enrollment in the last month so that you'll have a jump on retail buyers on Release, and in-game benefits like reserving a character name, Destiny's Twin that lets two characters train skills at the same time, and the Adventurer's Pack of consumables and a bag of holding.

From everyone here at Goblinworks, we thank you again for your support, and look forward to Crowdforging Pathfinder Online with you!

Sincerely,

RyanD

11 hours to go now at 88%. At least it is still moving. I still want the Emerald Spire and the PDF super pack, even if the PFO is no good to me.

Posted on Facebook and I almost never recommend anything there.

I have assimilated another pledger!

[edit] Make that two.

Bumped up to $2,400. There's not much more I can afford to hand over.

Goblin Squad Member

Best of luck to you man. I'm at $365 and can't pledge any more (tuition and rent recently wiped out my bank acct), and my 1 FB friend who plays MMOs I brought on as my crowdforger buddy.

Also put $100 toward my PK's tavern, so I'm at almost $500 for this game(!)

I have done what I reasonably can. If we make it be sure and show your appreciation to the Early Access folks who didn't get all the daily deals, because those will be the folks who made it possible.

Seconded. No intention to sound preachy but a lot of us are bending over backwards to see this through, and believe me, I would have pledged before the DDs started had I just known about the game.

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

plugged it in my guild, facebook page, 2 facebook grps and I am maxed out atm on my cc else I would have gone more :( but alas

My local PFS lodge might kick me off their Facebook group, but I posted there and on my status page again.

Exactly. I knew the DD announcement might cause a spike at first, but an even greater amount of resentment as the drive went on. I'm glad GW realized it and provided a way out with the shieldmate mark, though that seems unnecessarily complicated. I had to ask a lot of questions to be sure I understood it correctly, and since then I've been trying to pass the information on, but of course I only reach the ones who are looking to have someone talk them down.

I did know early enough (I think I was in the first 150 backers), but I wouldn't begrudge you or anyone the DD trinkets. It isn't going to make a big difference if there are a few more fools running around in ninja suits wielding katana.

If for some reason the kickstarter does not work. GW should instead of starting another kickstarter, just open up a microtransaction store on the PFO website where we can purchase the items available through the kickstarter. All current pledgers could get an email, post in these forums, and post it on the KS site too. That way there would be no goal, just added funds to get the project moving quicker. Plus, we the pledgers, can still get the early access, miniatures, pdfs, and the add-ons.

Goblin Squad Member

Raided all the piggy banks and did what I could to help.

Goblin Squad Member

Email sent out to gaming buddies, and I recently upped my pledge. Fingers crossed!

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

I maxed out my pledge some hours ago.

I do not like this idea. It makes it much more difficult to manage funds due to it being an unpredictable income stream. We need to get this KS funded.

+1000

In this and the previous kickstarter I pleged more than it should ..... (sorry for my bad english)

Quick clarification...the Kickstarter Page is unclear and I have received conflicting answers to these questions:

1. Does the PDF of Emerald Spire include the PFS certificate from the $5.00 level?
2. Does the Emerald Spire print back include the PDF?

In short I want Emerald Spire both in PDF and Print, and I want the PFS certificate. How should I manage my pledge?

Goblin Squad Member

Woo, 900k!

Goblin Squad Member

Just broke 900k!

I've disseminating the great design information about PFO. So long as people have information they are empowered to make good choices!

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

1. If you put in the $15 for just the PDF that looks like that is all you get.
2. Yes the print add on does include the PDF.

So if you put in at the $5 and then pledge $105 ($120 out of the US) you will get the PFS Certificate and...

$100 - RPG Print Pack Add-On

For Backers who want to get the Emerald Spire Superdungeon and Flip-Mat Multi-Pack in print as well as PDF. The RPG Print Pack includes a hardcover print edition of the Emerald Spire Superdungeon, featuring an exclusive
cover available only to Kickstarter backers; a print edition of the Emerald Spire Dungeons Flip-Mat Multi-Pack; a print edition of the Pathfinder Tales novel The Crusader Road; and an Emerald Spire Campaign Cards game
accessory. Also includes 2 bonus Reaper metal miniatures!

So, this might be a silly question, but is there a daily deal for today that I'm not seeing somewhere?

They said in the KS comments that they'd reveal it after the KS is over today--makes me hope (since it's the last day and everyone will get it) that it's something extra cool.

Goblin Squad Member

Daily deal usually appears in about 2 hours time.

I can nearly spam refresh on the kickstarter page and watch it climb: I am so thrilled that suddenly the worldwide community is weighing in at long last!

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

I wouldn't hold out on possible stretch goals either. Both Project Eternity and Star Citizen had huge growth in the final hours.

Goblin Squad Member

I still hoping for news for the Linux crowd before KS ends, so I can pledge some more.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

I believe Project Eternity is using the Unity engine also and they had Linux as a stretch goal. If they have faith it can be done I do too.

Goblin Squad Member

Wow! Getting $1 000 000 goal on first day for Project Eternity. That is insane.

Ok, I’ve done what I can do. Almost $700 pledged total.

Pledged a little more than I can!

Sadly, none of my friends are backing this. Half of them are in the "PVP?! Unclean!" camp, and the other half will launch into a half-hour rant about why Kickstarter is 'such a scam', whenever I bring it up. Bah.

Goblin Squad Member

Pledges before noon have been really good, if we can keep up this pace there might be a chance we can pull this off. But yesterday pledges all but stopped after noon.

Slaunyeh wrote:

I have a friend who is also skeptical about KS in general, which I really don't get. I have received some of the most interesting and high-quality products from KS, all the while making sure the money goes directly to the folks that deserve it. Some folks are just a bit too hardened.

Goblin Squad Member

We're at the second best day in the kickstarter already with 8 hours to go.

1. NO it is only the emerald spire.

2. $100 - RPG Print Pack Add-On

Add $15 for shipping to non-US addresses. Canada and Mexico are not US addresses.

You may purchase this Add-On multiple times.

pledge 115 and you get both the print pack and pdf.

Goblin Squad Member

@Darsch, $5 for the PFS certificate + $100 for the print pack gets you the PFS cert, the PDFs, and the printed material.

There's a faq at the bottom

Quote:

Will I get PDF versions of the contents of the RPG Print Pack Add On?

Yes! Everyone who purchases the Add On will also get PDF versions of the printed content!

It'll make it. Yesterday was Sunday. Big gaming day for many of us TTRPGers. Big NFL day for others (in the US at least). Wasn't the last day of the KS. Watch for momentum all day long. East coast lunchtime is over, but you're right in the middle of it for the Midwest right now with Mountain and West to go. You'll get another big burst as people in the US get home from work. I also still think we'll see one more bit of news or incentive from GW before the day is done. Next big psychological hurdle falls at $950k. Look for a big flood from there to the $1M mark.

Goblin Squad Member

Maybe a halfway decent and attainable stretch goal will encourage some of us to increase our pledges?

Goblin Squad Member

Adding to Kickstarter not recording properly. I was in at 100 pledge + 100 reward = 200

Wanted to increase to Brewmaster 300 pledge + 100 reward = 400.

Screen shows 400 pledge + 300 reward = 700?

Unless they get it to read properly, I'll stay at my 200 total pledge + reward.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm not usually a real vocal person here on the boards. And I have remained quiet the last month or so.

I just want to apologize to everyone here. I apologize as I am unable to help fund this kickstarter. And trust me, I WANT to. I want those minis. I want those pdfs. I would love to be able to give $100 to this drive. I really really do.

But, as I have been unemployed for the last 4-5 months, I cannot. And it is killing me. I gave to the first drive. And it is a big bummer to me that I cannot give to this one.

All my friends know about this game and kickstarter. So, I apologize for not being able to put my money where my mouth is.

I am still looking forward to the future of this game.

Goblin Squad Member

Ok, it's really picking up speed now. If this keeps up, we'll be funded in a couple of hours.

What are those stretch goals again, GW!

More minis!

Goblin Squad Member

@Mogloth, Hey, if you're out getting the word out to your friends and the like, you're doing your part.

Goblin Squad Member

@Mogloth: No need to apologize for not being able to fund the game. At least you aren't publicly telling Goblinworks you want them to fail. Some posters are quite uncouth in that way. I hope you can find work soon so you'll be able to play with us when the game is out!

Goblin Squad Member

Pledged to the 100 goal + 115 overseas print pack... can't really do more right now :/ I'm already way over my budget, and wishing, wishing I had the money to pledge more

Goblin Squad Member

@bluddwolf When your looking at the pledge management, the only thing your paying out is the amount listed under pledge amount. The radio button options is just so they know what baseline reward your asking for. Post survey will ask what your wanting to spend all your money on.

Also, Amazon Payments will show you the amount you've authorized to be given to Goblinworks before you finalize. If this number is incorrect, you should go back and check to see what went wrong, otherwise you're good to go.

No one should feel bad about being responsible to themselves. Lisa, Ryan, and I'm sure the whole GW team would not any one to hurt themselves. They're in the business to entertain, and that goes against every principal of that.

So don't feel bad. Just spread the word. Any new backer at any amount is extremely helpful.

I am in for a $100, and I want to give more too. Doing so would not be responsible. But I have used my social network to bring it to the attention of my communities.

I'm not even sure if I will like the game, but I have tried many many MMO's and never fallen in love. BUT Mister Dancey says he has a plan to try new concepts and new ideas. That's why I am supporting this project. I want to support innovation and new concepts.

Just like I don't think hybrid cars will single handedly change the energy needs of the world, but I want to support that technology too.

I find mysel gripped by the countdown much more than I thought I would be.

I think we're going to make it. Just keep spreading the word.

Like Ryan said in one of the other threads, don't break your bank account or your relationships with significant others over this. It'll make it.

For those of you that haven't been part of one of these nutty last second ones, don't wait for the last second. We broke Kickstarter or Amazon Payments at the end of Bones. Hopefully they've added more servers since then.
