@RD: The ideas this thread has given me made my GMs and Players weep.

Maybe include some characters that have connections (rivals, adventuring party etc) I know you have husband and wife but I think it would be cool to see more

There are numerous relatives and rivals already. Some of them were also in the same adventuring party (though that is not generally shown). Were you seeking a specific connection perhaps?

hey rd i was just looking at some of your characters and i noticed on Shioji Petilom the stats modifiers were not matching the stat. Just thought i would bring it to your attention.

Impressive, sir. Dotting for later use...

Actually, they are accurate. His stone of good luck gives him a +1 on all ability checks. His pale green prism ioun stone grants him an additional +1 competence bonus on all ability checks. Therefore, all of his ability modifiers are 2 higher than the norm for their respective scores (at least as far as ability checks are concerned).

You might see something similar in other characters. Keep an eye out for the circlet of persuasion.

Thank you for pointing it out just the same.

oh my bad that makes sense. i have to say i am enjoying going through your characters. there are a few i am looking forward to placing into my homebrew as some reoccuring villians. most notable and one of my favorites so far is your Gnoll Sorcerer on page 1. I so cant wait to throw that at a couple of my PC's. thanks again for the great resource.

Paegin was featured prominently in several of my own home games. Check out some of these threads to get a better idea of what he was capable of:

My Campaign Outline (For added PC pain, throw in a few pugwampis)

Investigations of Heroes (No Pegin, but interesting nonetheless.)

Paegin's Introduction and Capture

Heroes Versus the Goblinwood (No Pegin, but interesting nonetheless.)

Paegin's Evil Infests the Heroes

Playtest Scenarios, With Paegin and Friends (Wholly unrelated to the campaign story shown prominently in the above links.)

Hopefully they will serve to inspire you and others.

Also, if anyone is interested, I have Paegin statted out explicitly as an NPC as well, should you be interested in seeing those stats.

...

thank you RD i will be looking into those after work tonight.

dot!

Oh I wasn't looking for any specific connections I just didn't notice many connections and thought it would be cool. I can't think of her name but the halfling sorcerer that has a rat familiar, how does she make it fly? I noticed overland flight wasn't crossed out

That's because she's a sorcerer. It's hard to cross out a spell slot when it's represented as a single digit number.

Maybe try a character with insanity like schizophrenia or multiple personalities

FILE UPDATES
- Helegûr

Helegûr has had her starting gear adjusted to be more appropriate for her level and has replaced feather fall with the spell blood money from "Rise of the Runelords" (included in the document for reference). This spell allows her to create her simulacrums for free, but also extends the process to 1 week as she recovers from the ability damage it causes. As a result, she has many more simulacrums than before (and has more need of them whenever she makes a new one).

Furthermore, Helch Barad, her unique instant fortress, has been upgraded into an intelligent item which can carry her and her minions about via flight. It now operates as her mobile base of operations, constantly surrounded by dangerous storms, from which her simulacrums can hurl their fireballs at enemies below.

Enjoy! :D

I am in love with Helegûr... She might just become an Optional Boss for my upcoming campaign.

Simulacrums sound fun to use...

She will appear if my players head to the Frozen Wastes of the North.

Any tactical advice for using her.

Any tactical advice for using her.

She never travels alone, always accompanied by her bodyguards (never less then four) who make a point of keeping close (making it impossible to approach her from any angle without provoking multiple attacks of opportunity). Her fortress is always nearby as well, hidden in the clouds when not needed, ready to swoop down and rescue her if necessary.

She puts her simulacrums to good use, often sending a few of her trolls and one of her doubles (sometimes accompanied by illusions and other trickery) to test a possible foe's abilities. She is cold, calculating, and cautious in all she does. She respects strength and is known to ally herself with the giants of the north (who fear and respect her).

Like a chess player, she's quick to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of her enemies, as well as herself, and is all too willing to sacrifice a few of her pawns if it wins her the match. She is deceptively tough, and relishes tricking her foes into attacking her with fire or targeting her Fortitude-saves, where she is most strongly defended.

When facing many adversaries (such as an army) or one powerful foe (such as a dragon) she hides behind the walls of the Cold Fortress (which in itself may be hidden in clouds or storm fog) and wears them down with powerful storms from her orb of storms and hit and run spell bombardments.

When facing a large force, there is inevitably one or more sim-clone spies already planted in their midst ready and waiting to wreak havoc with their sabotage (think of the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica).

If things are looking grim, she uses her blizzard ability to keep enemies at bay and attempts to escape with icy teleport while her minions run interference and buy her time to escape. She might also use that spell to capture prisoners, placing them into cells within Helch Barad.

She uses seeming to disguise her sim-clones and bodyguards if necessary (such as to look like a group of traveling performers or harmless pilgrims).

When expecting an engagement, she and her body doubles often cast protection from energy on the trolls to ensure their continued service, making them incredibly difficult to kill. They also use cold steel on the trolls' weapons. She personally may subject herself to both elemental body IV (air elemental) and ice body, causing her to take the form of a living blizzard (which is then wrapped in her snow shroud ability).

She relishes the opportunity for personal combat, and when fighting an obviously weaker foe, she often transforms into a living blizzard, as above, and also casts transformation upon herself.

Hope that helps.

Holy Crap on a Cracker... I will have a wonderful time using her.

Her personality matches most of my standard PCs/NPCs...

Be sure to post about it here when you do.

Well they are heading to the Northern Reach now.

So they will probably hit Winter's Kiss soon meaning I can use this as a chance to introduce her.

I am thinking a Simulacrum+Retinue scouting out the Town for a raid or such.

Soooo I can't wait any longer for moar characters

Ravendark was actually my original online handle years ago, until my brother changed it as a joke. I liked Ravingdork so much, I've been using it ever since.

Nice!

Also I really would love to see Lermos Daewolf in the Arena.

RD, I love this! Thanks so much. I know that some of your postings on other threads have had the backgrounds of your characters, I still remember the old lady who charmed the people who wanted to kill her and sent them after the town. Are you planning on loading that type of infomration as well?

Oh yeah, Helegûr went over very well.

Sadly, my Party ended up allying with her...

Is it possible to put in a request RD?

Breadcrumbs the Kobold Cook, master of Dragon themed dishes?

To my knowledge, there is absolutely nothing making it impossible.

Whether I accept it however, depends entirely on my mood and how impressed I am with the concept.

Understatement. They already have conquered an entire town do to the town being controlled by evil. They are Level 3, about to become Level 4, and they now control a castle.

If RD doesn't take on the request I might. Though mine might only be Level 1.

Kufu needs a bio what a cool character

I really like Robilar/Duneharrow. He's awesome.

Kufu was created little more than a week ago as a response to complaints that I had no gnome characters.

If love to see your take on a 12th level Order of the Nail inquisitor -> hellknight

Grand Lodge

I am actually willing to pay you to create Breadcrumbs the Kobold Cook.

You know you want to make her.

In that case, I'll throw out 5 different character ideas. Lol

Dwarf zen archer, N, wo sees the world as. Itching of black and white but of pure gray, as in the true balance of everything, extremely zen, middle path all the way. Optional character idea for him: blind.

Rogue detective who likes to use his clubs just as much as he likes solving the next crime. Think Sherlock Holmes, more Robert Downey movie style.

Archaeologist bard, believes only he is capable of getting to the root of a problem through his wits and perception. Has social issues because of his flaw of being able to see the truth in all things old and new, including people. Sherlock Holmes style more like Benedict cumberbatch from bbc show, ' Sherlock'.

( sorry, I love Sherlock Holmes. :)..)

Goblin, or human, ranger archer, CG, went missing in the wild for many years. Learned to fend for himself and sees all who try to deter him from his objective as an enemy. Kind of bounty hunter style,, but with his own list of those who should be dealt with. When not using bow, which is rare, he tends to throw the occasional knife or 4, but only when out of arrows, again, rarely happens.

Hurler barbarian, CN, what he lacks in words, he makes up for in pure destruction. Demolition expert as well as a veteran siege combatant. He knows a thing or two about getting er an obstacle, even if ou have to throw an ally over to do it; or a 20 ft boulder. Is also handy when it comes to breaking down/ sundering a building, or enemy's,armor, with his falchion. Even the occasional king refers to him for his expertise in 'get-it-over-the-wall- I-don't-care- how' style. Not exactly an idiot because of this.

If you plan to make any or all of these that would be awesome. Let me know if you want their names or anything, or more background info. As for levels, I guess mid-high, starting at I guess level 10, but again your choice since you'd be making it.

Again, thanks for the consideration for ideas.

Dotting. I enjoy the flying castle, I'll be looking up the cost of mundane castles now.

Haven't seen prices since v3.0. There they cost about 1 million gold pieces if I recall.

How about a clown good(buffs) or evil(debuffs)

A Rock N' Roll Clown?

Out of curiosity, did you consider choosing to have Lermos receive inflict spells for free instead of cure spells for free?

Seems like the mass versions of the inflict spells would be great to both heal your undead and harm your enemies. And of course it synergizes well with Bleeding Wounds.

I assume that instead you were going to take those spells as spells known, but I'm just curious.

Cheers,

Xykal

Do you have versions of these characters (or any others?) with NPC level wealth?

I think most of these characters are meant for PCs or Final Bosses.

I believe Fayth is correct from what I've seen.

As a side note, do you take requests for characters Fayth, pm me?

I have a few NPCs and monster mixed in. They are marked in blue and have a CR listed.

I went to upload new character changes to account for the recent FAQs (namely the reduced pricing of the amulet of mighty fists), but it would appear that the network is down. None of the links are working and even my personal web site that the service also hosts (The Fool's Court) is also inaccessible.

I will get to the bottom of this and get everything up again as soon as I can. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I will notify you via post the moment they are up again.

EDIT: Whatever is happening, it's not just me. The entire service appears to be down. Maintenance perhaps. Hopefully that means it will be back up soon.
