Wasu! Just stumbled across this thread and I'm blown away! A lot of great work here that I can't wait to look over and digest. Surely, this will give me a lot to think about with my future builds!

Be sure to tell all your friends about it.

I wish I could figure out how you made the table with the racial build breakdown come out cleanly...

Thank you, RD.

Why wouldn't it come out nice and clean?

Mine always causes the Text to go wonky.

Do you have any interesting concepts for the actual witch class? :D

*checks archive*

I thought I did, but apparently the closest thing I have in my archive at this time is a hex magus.

I'll be sure to make one soon.

Beast-Bonded Witch with an Octopus familiar.

Why?

Tentacles.

You have an unhealthy obsession with Tentacles...

I honestly cannot believe that I have a cavalier before I have a witch. I hate cavaliers and love witches.

I love all classes in Pathfinder...

Also do you really love Flails? EDIT: And Casters?

And no inquisitor?! Why is it both of my favorite classes are missing. :( No love!

Yes. Yes I do. I also love long swords, shields, and bows. Nothing screams fantasy better to me than these weapons. Google some knight pictures and 9 out of 10 of them will be carrying a longsword and shield (or equivalent blade).

I have a number of inquisitors, and am relatively fond of them. Check out Riko Mycen, who is already posted.

Yay! For once I'm happy with my failure to full comprehend!

@Ravingdork: Why do you dislike Cavaliers?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Plenty of reasons, but mostly personal taste. I find many of their abilities uninteresting and entirely too narrow. Adventurers need to be versatile.

A cavalier without his mount is like a wizard without his spellbook, only the GM is MUCH more likely to target the latter over the former.

I don't like classes that strip me of nearly all my class abilities every time I go into a structure, underground, or ship. (And small mounts don't really help, because then you get a bunch of weird looks from the NPCs.)

Why no switch hitting rangers?

One day I will see fit to educate you as to why you are wrong.

But not today.

Erh, cause I haven't gotten around to it yet?

Come on guys. I have about 100 characters (roughly). If you spew 500 concepts at me, odds are, I'm not going to have most of them.

I have plenty of rangers on file (not sure if they are switch hitters), but most of them were made (and played) by my friends, not me.

Haha yea you have a lot but I didn't see any rangers :(

My Cavaliers hardly ever use their Mount...

The Cavalier is built more to be a Team player not a loner.

EDIT: Musketeer trades their Mount for a Firearm.

What about Samurai

Samurai gets a mount don't they? And yes they are a bit more loner than a normal Cavalier...

These are great... but do you do any with tactical recommendations?

Do I have any with tactical recommendations?

A few. There were a few high level characters that, by the time I was finished with them, ended up being SO complex that I had to make tactical notes just to endure they lived up to their potential.

EDIT: And you know what? I can't seem to find them. I may have been thinking of some old v3.5 characters.

Grand Lodge

Just dropping a note of thanks, this will help if I ever need a good npc on the fly.

@Ravingdork: I can't remember if I told you this but:

Thank You! You are my new favorite person!

@Ravingdork: Clockwork Kin should be 15 RP as well. Natural Armour is 2 RP.

Azaelas Fayth wrote:

But they aren't build around their mount.

Eh? So it is.

Was it changed at some point?

Neither is a Cavalier. If you look only around 2 class features revolve around the Mount.

It is mostly people tend to take it as a Mounted warrior. Don't get me wrong they are some of the best Cavalry characters. But you can build them many ways.

And most dungeons tend to have enough space for you to bring along your mount as it is Large 1x2 not Large 2x2.

Heck, I have a Halfling Cavalier who hardly ever rides his Riding Dog Mount instead he fights side-by-side it.

In between the Playtest and the Printing apparently.

FILE UPDATE
- All PC characters.

Minor changes have been made to each character sheet to make them more closely resemble the stat blocks found in the NPC Codex. Some characters now have new character portraits. I used a different DOCX to PDF conversion method this time, allowing for smaller file size, but also blitzing some of the pictures. If a character portrait doesn't look right to you, please point it out and I will re-upload it using the old method, which should fix the problem.

sorry if this has been asked, but are other people allowed to add their own wackos to this pile of awesome characters?

You're the first I think.

I've considered the idea, but ultimately decided that I want to get my stuff out first, before the thread starts to get cluttered with the awesome of everyone else.

Once I run out of existing characters, then I'll open it up to other people's PC concepts. Currently, I'm timing it all out to finish up some time around Christmas. After that, I will add individual characters as I make them (we will no longer be on the Monday format) and will open up the thread to others.

good, good. i'll start preparing my submissions for such a time then (mostly because i get bored and have tons of free time).

@AndIMustMask: Why not open your own thread?

That is what I plan to do.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Would it not be better to have one place for people to come to for characters, rather than a bunch of scattered, hard to find threads.

Together we are strong. Apart we wither and die.

That is why we set up a thread to link all the threads. Similar to the Guide to class guides thread.

Though one thread wouldn't be bad. until it gets to be around 100 pages.

i should hope it'd be a long while before then. at that point everyone could migrate to a new thread that links back to this one as an 'archive' of sorts.

Hmm, I could see it evolving int an entirely new messageboard outside of Paizo's...

Shadow Lodge

If a bunch of threads with builds crop up, I'll organize a google doc with links.

Also, If people want me to, I'm happy to make a resource linking all the builds organized by class - which could be very helpful. But I'd want authors' permissions to link their stuff. Starting with ... RD?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I'll think about it. We had some problems early on, presumably because the servers were being overwhelmed. If that is the case, I may want to limit the exposure to the files somewhat.

I'll try and get it all figured out by Christmas.

Shadow Lodge

Well, my offer extends to any other authors - post your stuff (preferably in external
PDF-like format like RD), and I'll organize it into a big resource. Just let me know.

If you want we could probably find an external host to reduce the Server load.

Thanks RD I stayed up so I could read all of your builds. Gave me many ideas for my own characters. As well as some ideas for some villains in the games I run for my group. I really liked Obrist Lang I think his name was... phalanx soldier/skirnir. Im of the same thought as you, I like sword & shield, or spear & shield types in a fantasy setting.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I love the quirkiness of the characters here. Looking forward to seeing you post more NPC type creatures/characters, as I tend to DM more than play.

Shadow Lodge

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Following up with all those other authors. I've created a google doc to consolidate all of the builds we have on these forums. If you want to contribute, post on this thread and I'll add it to the resource.

The google doc can be found here

Thanks so much for this, RD!
