Well I think what makes a nice movie title also makes a nice AP title. And I think it's different enough for Apocalypse Now!, too. It was, as I'm just recalling, different enough to become an episode title on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine but that's probably obscure enough not to be too obvious.Jim Groves wrote:Apocalypse RisingToo much like a movie title, I think the actual honorific is better.
It's cool Zaister. :)
I was just kidding about cursing you, if he picks Apocalypse Rising it's not like I'm gonna wanna fight you or anything. No biggie. :)

Usher is sort of gentle I guess. Makes you think of a dude in a tuxedo (or a handsome musical artist) gently guiding you towards the end of the world. Maybe "Harbinger of the Apocalypse"? But so many syllables...
Nah, it's the Demon Lord's actual title. Don't get talked out what you like. :)

Well, the text about Deskari in Lords of Chaos starts out with
Thought to be Pazuzu’s greatest son, Deskari is believed by many scholars to be the Usher of the Apocalypse.
True, it doesn't really read like a title, but it's capitalized. He's also referred to as this in the Gazetteer and Inner Sea World Guide.

Not that no adventure path so far has actually featured a Golarion place name. (Skull & Shackles kind of does, but shackles is also a word and shackles are even featured in the logo for that AP.) So I think, titles with place names are out for the whole AP. Not for individual adventures though, and "Worldwound" is already in the name of the first adventure.

Still... it's one name that's been on the short list for a bit...
Anyway... keep the names comin' folks! I've already jotted down 4 great ones (not gonna call them out though... not yet, at least).
Now I am curious which 4 you liked. :)

Dark_Mistress wrote:My first thought is Worldwound Legacy. To imply either what the Worldwound left after opening or to imply what the PC's will leave the world at the end of the AP. or both. That's actually not a bad one... but it also repeats the word "Worldwound" from the first adventure. I'd really rather not repeat any words from the adventure titles.
You know you could go with Worldwound Legacy and then just change the first AP book name from The Worldwound Incursion to The Demonic Incursion or something along those lines. Not knowing if this is a incursion into the Worldwound or the Worldwound host doing a incursion into other lands makes it harder to think of a counter name. If it is the later the name could be changed to A Plague of Demons.

parts one through six
1. the wounded crusade
2. the sundered land
3. the weeping sheild
4. the burning rift
5. enter and be known
6. lights last stand
James is actually only asking for a name for the whole AP. I only mentioned renaming the first part cause he did like my AP suggestion but it was a bit like the first book. So was offering a suggestion to make my first AP name suggestion work.

Is it just me, or does The Burning Rift sound like a job for Preparation H?
Not sure if any of these will get used, but there are a lot of good metal band names here....

Another angle could be "The True Crusade" or something similar. Mendev always seemed to be painted in tarnished light, a very murky gray as opposed to the more purely idealistic Lastwall. All of the atrocities and abuses on the human side of things causes one to consider all of the Mendevian Crusades except maybe the first one to fall far short of shining examples of goodness in action.
From what's been said about this AP so far though, it sounds like it may promote heroes looking to buck that trend, being Mendevian Crusaders as they should be rather than how they often have been. Such heroes won't just be opposed to the demons of the Worldwound, but to the corruption and cruelties that have taken root amongst their own.
I have to admit, the idea of Iomedaean Inquisitors throwing the book at Burners has a lot of appeal. Paladins vs. Burners do as well. Heck, Barbarians vs. Burners.
...
I really hope we get to punch a Burner.

Isn't Savage tide the last adventure path Paizo did in Dungeon Magazine?
These names might have already been suggested
"Into the Abyss"
or
"Sealing the Abyss"
