Oh Greylurker, what did you do to the monster spawner to anger it so much?

OMG, Dr. Vault Tec hasn't captured ANY monsters for her nefarious experiments yet... I've got a project to work on....

New Plan was Mine field and Quad Missile launcher, which did work. Although Jake Finch died defending his family farm. All that effort to get him away from the forged and he gets killed by robots

and then Supermutant Dog ate my face so I have to do it all over again

apparently Supermutats are drawn to loud bangs

Maybe you need to seed the perimeter with mines before going in to fight.

Alternately, just let Finch Farm be attacked offscreen. There's always a chance it will be fine on its own, and even if it isn't, over time the damage will be repaired and happiness will increase again. You can always also just show up afterward and fix any remaining damage and stick around for a bit, and the happiness will go up.

I've never driven a settlement's happiness low enough from neglect that they unaffiliated from me.

It's worked out. Same plan, no super mutants this time. Jake is MIA presummed dead but I can't find a corpse.

Took a nap once the farm was safe and then headed up to the Slog

on the road I encountered a pack of killer robots heading to Finch Farm.....

Starting to wonder if maybe they're not telling me something

Found Jake's body down by the pond

Managed to make my way to the Slog and help those ghouls with some Super Mutants.

and you know what. I want this place. These Supermutants have an awesome place. It's got a farm, His and her bathrooms (I have never seen a Her Super Mutant so I'm guess the clean one was for the ladies), a nice house, weapon workbench.

Why is there not Settlement workbench here, this place is great.

Go back to the Slog and start fixing the place up but I am short on Gears.

So after a night's rest I head over to the ironworks to scavenge up some stuff.

To my surprise the forge have already moved back in.

I can tell from the 3 molotovs flying my way

Did you clear out the Gunners right by the ironworks around the same time as you cleared out the Forged? As I mentioned upthread, I cleaned out the Gunners originally and left the Forged alone, and the Gunners came back pretty quickly. Once I cleared out both, they stayed cleared (at least as of the last time I played).

I thought I had got them both. but I might have missed some

It's was wierd because clearly I was investigating the place in the middle of respawing. There is that one shed on the side with the Flamethrower trap. Looted it, then came back a few minutes later door was closed again, trap reset and all the loot was back. Gonna need these guys gone if I want to set a supply line between the Slog and the southern farms.

I'll have to recheck those Gunners too, don't want them snipping the cows from the highway again.

and I still have Dunwitch to deal with...That place is a damn nightmare fortress

Ironforge is cleared out again.

Also discovered a single Gunner corperal wandering around that highway all alone. That guy is probably the reason things respawned so quickly....He's dead now so here is hoping I don't have to do this again. Left some mines in the Forge regardless plus a wandering protectron.

Lost ADA on the way back to Finch Farm. Hadn't realized she'd gotten into a fight with something and now she is probably back at sanctuary or the Red Rocket. I'd be less concearned about that if it wasn't for the 4 mini Nukes we found in the Forge that she was carrying.

I'm really looking forward to those and now I have to go find her again.

she was also carrying most of my guns ammo and food.......

I'm sure I'll be fine on my own for a while

I built some Artillery at the Slog

then I spent a day blowing the crap out of Dunwitch.
Not just with the Artillery either.
I've used Missiles, Grenades, a mini nuke, a nukamine I found on the road

and of course my trusty 4 crank musket sniper rifle

Hit, run, sleep for a few hours, hit'em again
I think I got them all and can finally get to that door

I thought wrong

Todays Story ends with a grenade in my face

Dunwitch is done

except for the Ghouls, decided I don't want to deal with that crap

Back to the Slog for a good long sleep. While I'm there I outfit a few locals with armor and weapons I got from Dunwitch.

Wake up to hear that something is attacking Starlight Drive in.

I start running that way when I hear something is attacking Country Crossing

...
..
.
seriously

While I'm making up my mind some jack-ass raider shoots me with a missile launcher

Todays Story ends here

Senseing that Country Crossing is in danger, I pop down there and build some turrets. Then I dash over to Starlight Drivein.

Wow I have never seen that many Raiders attack a place. Was about a dozen of them. Buggers destroyed quite a bit. Fixed things up and added some more turrets once it was over.

Ok....been putting this off for a while but. ADA lets go deal with General Robotics.....ADA?....oh right

Quick trip to Sanctuary to get ADA

OK General Robotics

Quick stop to kill Supermutants who annoyed me and then a nap on one of the boats at the harbor.

Ready to go

I don't make it past the front door. Some legendary Swarmbot with machinegun arms was waiting for me. Something tells me this is gonna take some effort

This better be worth it ADA

Todays Story ends here

So back to General Atomics.... where I hide in the bathroom while ADA kills all the robots.

Plan works well.

I search the place until all that is left is a computer locked security door. Little bit of hacking and the password is....trap

ಠ_ಠ

getting real sick of your crap Fallout

On the other side of the door is that legendary swarmbot with the machineguns again.

When confronted by difficult problems , sometime the easiest solution is Excessive Force.

Excessive Force in this case defined as Fatman

Note however that in a confined area Fatman is extreemly hazardous to your own health.

Stims'll fix it.

In the rubble of the next room I find the Robobrain on the other side of a security grill. Can't seem to shoot him through it, but I don't think he can get me either.

Turns out the metal grill is not a problem for the Swarmbot in there with him armed with some kind of lightning gun

Lucky for me stims are still slowly replenishing my health as I fall down a hole to the floor below.

....not bloody fair this place. I blame you ADA

So lets review, to get at the robo brain I have to hack the terminal for the security door while Swarm bolt lightning bolts me....

No, not doing that, looking for another way. Find a door on the first floor lets try that....+20 Rads....no lets not try that one

Third floor it is. I find stuff and a hole in the floor right on top of the robo brain.

A lot of grenades go down that hole followed by a Pulse Mine.

Excessive Force = Problem solved.

1 Robobrain Acquired

What is that Thumping noise.....Wow, I don't think I've seen a Behemoth before. I'm just gonna slip quietly away

No ADA NO Do not Fire DO NOT FIRE

Well that ended quickly

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

Did you read about my problems with ADA and Curie earlier in this thread?

The assaultron head's hostility sensors are ridiculously oversensitive, and she will always charge into battle even when human companions or different kinds of robots wouldn't--and yes, she will get you killed over and over and over and over again. Her AI is also especially aggressive.

She seems in particular getting you killed an awful lot. You should have easily been able to run away from that behemoth. I suggest either switching out for a different companion (you CAN take her through Automatron, but she is not required), or least giving her a new head. I believe the Assaultron and Robobrain heads are the worst. I think Protrectron and Handy heads are safer.

Alternately, as long as she isn't drawing fire toward you, abandon her and then pick her up later.

I did try running. Figured worst case ADA respawns at Sanctuary. But then the Behemoth threw a rock at my legs and crippled them both.

Next thing I knew It was club to the face.

I keep meaning to change ADA's head, just keep forgetting until she gets me killed

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

To be clear--not blaming you for not running. I figured you probably did try and ADA's actions drew the behemoth's attacks toward you before you could get away. My saying was "you should have been easily able" was my commenting toward the game's AI for ADA and how it screwed things up, not toward something you should have done.

Have you traveled any with Codsworth? When you earn his admiration, he improves your energy resistance versus robotic weapons. VEEEEERY handy when doing the Automatron's quests.

So.....I'm hiding in a Red Rocket bathroom, because there is a Sentry Bot outside who has marked this place as important and I am apparently an intruder.

I lost ADA a while back, she fell off the highway and I haven't seen her since.

anyway it seems to have calmed down now so I'm going to make a run for it

.....
..
.
right into a radioactive pit.
...
..
.
full of Bot flies

40 levels of Survival mode

I feel fairly proud ofthat despite the huge number of times I've been killed

Me and Nick are heading out now. ADA is presumably still at sanctuary but I'm not going to be back there for a while, so Nick is my new travelling buddy.

We swung by Hangman's alley......
...
seriously people? You are packed in this place like sardines already...why? Why would you think 3 cows was a good idea.

So while I'm building houses and beds an Interesting thing happens at Hangman alley. We get attacked by Raiders, two of whom are in power armor.

Someone one of them got disintegrated without destroying his armor.

It's now mine, but it counts as me stealing it

I take it anway.

We leave in the morning cause I've learned my lesson about save points.

get about 2 blocks when we are caught between Rust Devils and Scavengers

The Rust Devils brought a Sentry bot with them....things went poorly for us

Todays Story Ends here

Me and Nick had to duck into Vault 81 to avoid a pack of Swarmbots.

Lucky we did cause it looks like something nasty happened. Kid got bit by a diseased Molerat.

Vault-tec has a lot to answer for. We found a secret part ofthe vault. Details on the experiments in diseases they were doing there on the people living in the rest of the place. Luckily someone had an concience and put and end to the scientists. Vault 81 got to live a good decent life free of Vault tec control because of that one person.

Overseer gave me my own room, which is nice cause I broke my legs carrying too much stuff. Did you know that, if you are over encumbered for too long, your legs break

Good night of rest then back to the commenwealth.

5 minutes later I get eaten by feral Ghouls

A masterpiece of understatement.

Me and Nick are making out way North East towards the Nekano place, seems they have a case for us.

Along the way I want to try that Vault I found earlier in the highschool full of gunners.

We did much better this time, manged to get through the front door at least. Even managed a quick nap in a quiet corner of the place so hazah Save Point.

Was going great until we got caugh in a corridor by a bunch that just love Molotovs

Man I hate Gunners

Todays Story ends here

Vault 75 is cleared out and all the gunners dead (hazah), so with that out of the way me and Nick head north towards the Nakano's place. Stopped by Finch farm for a rest, took out some raiders sniffing around the forgeworks. Things were going great until we saw the Alpha Deathclaw heading towards the Slog

or rather it saw us.

Damn those things are fast

So, I never really bothered with Curie as a companion before, but this playthrough I did her quest line and everything. I absolutely adore her. Not only is she a cutie, but her lines are so pure and full of wonder. It's a refreshing change from all the angry bitter companions.

She seems nice, probably pick her up once me and Nick deal with Far harbor. Discovered the other day that I'm infected with the Molerat disease. probably should have checked on that before I handed over the only dose of the cure. ah well, probably would have made the same choice regardless

Me and Nick finally reached Far Harbor

and immediately got eaten by Gulpers.

Not sure which was worse the Gulpers or the damn NPCs throwing Molotovs.

Well it was the Gulpers that ate me I suppose, but honestly I'd still be on the wall if they hadn't set it on fire.

Todays story ends here

Far Harbor is huge
and dangerous

Fog is bad, I'm guessing poisonous/radioactive so I desided to try wearing a gas mask. Don't know if it'll help any.

Talked to the syth leader. He and Nick seem like a thing. Found the girl I'm looking for and she wants me to look into stuff. Did that and things don't look great on this island. Gonna need to steal someone's brain from an evil cult.

Town wants me to fix their water purifier, something happened to it.

That something was mutant lobsters which ate me

Fallout is a helluva drug. XBox had a sale over the weekend, and, unlike the PS4, it supports significant mods. So, now I'm the proud owner of 2 copies of Fallout 4...

I now have a catapult that shoot bowling balls

It's no Fatman but it'll do.

Situation on this island is tense. Normal folks and crazy folks are going to start killing each other if something isn't done.

Robot asks me to investigate a murder at the hotel so me and Longfellow check it out.

It's Ghouls, your hotel is full of ghouls, ghouls killed your guest.

and they ate me too

I sent my Xbox One out to get repaired a day or two ago so I can hopefully get back in Fallout 4. I've been itching to play it again and do settlement building that I'll suffer through the story.

Until then:
Monster Hunter World and Stardew Valley will keep me busy.

Would anyone be interested in an "adventures of Wraithguard" for Monster Hunter World? It is my first Monster Hunter game and I gotta say it is rather enjoyable.

Heck yeah I love to hear people's stories

I agree, it sounds like fun!

Sounds like I need to start a new thread then.

....Landmines and Bear traps....together

that's a bit overboard don't you think

Todays story ends here

and here I am with my new home next to Longfellows shack.

Found me some t-51 Power Armor. It is lime green and has corporate logo's on it but beggars can't be choosers.

Killed a Fog Crawler for a crazy lady....I don't like Fog Crawlers but I will eat it now that it's dead. Crazy lady let me build a settlement where I killed it so a new farm has been set up.

I'll say this about Far Horbor. They give you a Lot of room to build on, too bad there is a major shortage of Steel to build with.

So now I've got the Dalton Farm and Longfellow's Cabin. Desided to clear some roads between the two. Found some Toilets filled with Ghouls. While I'm clearing those out the noise attracts some kind of Fishman.

Fishman seems to be bullet proof cause Guns ain't doing much against it.

and then it spits fire at me.

fire....the fishman spits fire......

g%@ d&@n it Fallout ಠ_ಠ

Todays story ends here.

Anglers, son. Nasty.

At present I am rockin my 10mm pistol

Why you may ask?

Because that Angler took every single Shotgun Shell me and Nick had, plus 2 Frag mines...and Nick still had to finish it off with that Chainsword I gave him

Told Nick to get some rest while me and Longfellow give the road another sweep. Took down some trappers then after a good night's sleep went up to that hotel with the ghouls again.

You don't see it clearly at night but in the daylight it's pretty visible. A Vault Door right infront of the place. Half covered with wrecked cars and such so you can't get at it but that is definately a Vault elevator.

Ghouls in the hotel still ate me though

Crazy LAdy is right, this island is evil and it wants to kill me.

Been sorting out that farm settlement she gave me. Built up a small house there for the two guys running he place, setting up some defenses and so on when what comes wandering along the beach.....

Legendary Glowing Fog Crawler, along with his posse; an Angler and Several Gulpers, including the one that snuck up behind me while I was throwing grenades at his glowing green boss

my current defenses at that place are....inadequate

Today's lesson was taught by a Legendary Fogcrawler that charged me in a rage the moment I shot the Chicken.

Rookie. Everyone knows that this lesson was originally taught by Zelda.

Sebastian is correct. Zelda chickens are a terror to behold.

So the people at Dalton Farm have been telling me about these Hermit Crabs that live in old Vans. They want to go kill one for both stuff and food. Sounds like a plan where is it?

The whole other side of the island...do you have any idea how much crap we have to get past to reach it. I mean you must it's your island right..

.....and you are already running off into the fog.....

ah son of a.....
I give chase.

First they lead us into a bear. Bowlingball cannon works wonders. Never seen a bear fly like that before.

Then they lead us to a Fog Crawler.....bowlingball cannon less effective but somehow we survive it.

Then they leads us past Super Mutants.....Lots of Supermutants

things went less well, That's what I get for associating with people

Todays story ends here

So, me and Nick are slowly working our way south to this hermit crab. Currently we are using an old house for shelter. Used to belong to a glowing green bear.

Have me a new gun. Armor peircing Automatic rifle with advanced scout scope. Used up half the ammon trying to kill the above mentioned bear.

We set out acros the marsh and had to take down an Angler on the way... damn those are tough. Move a little farther south when I spot a Gulper ahead of us. Was about to shoot when I though enough to look around.

Oh God Nick....they're in the trees, we're surrounded, there is tons of the damn things. Nick we gotta go, we gotta....too late RUN!

We didn't get far

Quoted for truth.

You know if you just lose the people, you lose them....

The first time I noticed those critters up in the trees I got much more paranoid walking around Far Harbor.

I thought I could get away with it....It's just a chicken

there is no such thing as a chicken curse.
it's been 130 days since I thawed out (I checked) and I have been eating bugs, dogs and the occasionally wonderful steak

but no chicken

So I shot it

nothing happened

I looted it and got two wonderous chicken thighs

and thats when the Trappers found me

you win again chicken

Wraithguard wrote:

I think it might actually be 3-0 now..

So......killed a bunch of trappers and took over their little tree fort. It's nice

Went looking for that chicken but it was gone. Continued south found a whole town full of Trappers.

begining to hate trappers more than gunners. Snuck around trapper town to an old broken ship and grabbed some storage drives. two were easy to get but for some reason my cursor wouldn'tt pick up the third. Carted the things all the way back to Arcadia and hand them over....and he complains that I only brought 2 of the 3. You never said a number and these two were the only ones that popped up on my screen as being important, get off my case would ya.

seriously some people

I suck down some RadAway and get a night's sleep at Longfellow's.

Me and Nick head for that Hotel again, see if a couple of levels and some nice new chest armor make a difference against the ghouls there.
