Silver Crusade

A youngish halfling lady steps into the room. She scans the area with cold eyes, her fingers brushing her dagger. She takes a deep breath while moving her hands to her sides. "I want to join this group" she pauses a moment before swearing under her breath. "Sorry sorry I am Feesh and um hello, who do I need to talk to about joining and sorry for disturbing." Her speech and manners mark her as low born, though she doesn't seem to be one who flees but fights.

Silver Crusade

The young aasimar cleric notices the halfling entering the room.

"Welcome, stranger. Worry not, you weren't disrupting anything. But if you wish, take a seat by the fire and share your story. "

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Silver Crusade

Welcome small one, I am Dolok the Shield, Spear of the Slothjaw tribe... I take it your capable of scouting or some other supportive role?

Silver Crusade

Feesh glances about and then pulls up a seat by the fire. "Well lets see scouting.." she kinda laughs at that. "Not so go in the wilds, did kill a snipe once then when we checked in the morning it was just a squirrel. I know what rats sound like, cats, dogs and that sort of thing." she sighs some and then stiffens her back. "What I am curious about is how does one follow a god?" she pulls a holy symbol of Desna. "I know you all are about doing good things and I have done good things, not by plan or intention, just luck. Helped a woman getting beaten by her drunk husband once. It wasn't to really help her, it was cause I was er mad and looking for a good scrape to clear my head. He pulled steal and then died. It was said I did a good thing. But was it? And then I was called valiant for rushing into a fight with a minotaur, same thing kinda happened. I did good by keeping it distracted till better fighter types got close and kept it from charging or what it is that minotaurs do. Wasn't by plan or anything I just wanted to get in and....."she pauses. "Not sure anymore on things. The Pathfinders have been good for me and I well it seems this god is giving me a chance" she taps the holy symbol" so I want to follow and I do not know how?

Silver Crusade

Dolok looks at the butterfly symbol, Feesh is holding aloft.

"Is that a new god which i do not know about?"

He rubs his chin, and comes to feet.

"I know about Gorum, Iomedae, and sarenrae... umm, well a bit about them. The iron lord is worthy of my worship, and since a man can only have one true master... well my lot is thrown."

Silver Crusade

Feesh twirls the Desna holy symbol in her hand. "So how or when did you know you were going to worship this iron lord?" she ponders in thought as she glances at Dolok.
"I mean is there some sign, calling or something. I was saved from death by a gnome who was a follower of Desna. She is the one who gave me the name I go by and this holy symbol." turning her head to look at Lothar A-zor and the rest of the occupants. "Thoughts on this, ideas the like....anything?

Silver Crusade

[spoof] The bat hangs down from the ceiling, scratching itself behind an ear[/spoof]

"Afraid I'm a little new to the deity thing myself. Churches were more or less banned back home, and nature worship is a lot different. Met a couple of desnans out exploring the woods though, usually they travel somewhere out in the middle of nowhere and just sit and enjoy it. Nice folks.

Silver Crusade

Dolok smiles broadly.

"I heard his call in my very bones, the rush for blood and the ringing of steel... well cold forged iron in my case. His views of the battle and the contests of strength which shape us as warriors, that is a noble calling... to protect the tribe and those which are not viewed capable of bearing arms."

He steps up to Feesh.

"forgive me...but this is killing my neck."

He reaches down and gently lifts her on top of a table.

Silver Crusade

Saetria has lowered the volume of her flute playing, so as not to overly disturb the conversation going on. Her fingers move with practiced skill over the metal's surface.

Silver Crusade

"Welcome, Feesh!" a fearsome-looking tiefling greets the newcomer. "There are many of us who have arrived at the Silver Crusade by a long and winding path. I'm an old Shadow Lodger, myself, and I still sympathize with a lot of their ideas even if Torch turned out to be a lying weasel, who needs to get taken down a peg or two."

"I'm not too knowledgeable about the teachings of Desna, but I do know that serving your goddess can give you a powerful sense of purpose in life. I'm a follower of Calistria, myself." The tiefling laughs. "What? You were expecting someone prettier? It's true most of her other followers are easier on the eyes, but don't forget that she's also goddess of revenge. The way I see it, sometimes we've got to step up and take revenge for those that can't get it for themselves."

"Take your encounter with the drunk, for example, the guy beating his wife. Now there's a lowlife who needs a healthy dose of revenge, and his poor wife is not likely to get it for herself. It falls to folks like you and me, Feesh, and I say you did a good deed by sticking a knife in that one!"

"As for signs, I've never seen any shining angels in the sky or stuff like that. I mostly just keep my eyes open for people who think they've got away with one, beat the system. And when I see someone like that, I just know here's the sort of evildoer that Calistria would want me to take care of because the victims are not going to get their due any other way."

Silver Crusade

Two figures enter the room. One is a jovial half-elf, muscled and heavily armored. Two white wings extend through gaps in his full-plate armor.
"May I introduce myself as Damien, the Alchemist ? And what's that I hear about angels ?

The second man is a slender human with gray eyes. Although he looks young, his hair is also gray. "Dimitrius, Sorcerer". Both wear the holy symbol of Pharasma around their neck.

Silver Crusade

Feesh looks from the tiefling to two who entered then back to the tiefling. "There is one on the ground" she quips with a slight grin. She nods to ones who entered from a table top. "Just talking about how one knew there calling for following a god, I am trying to learn how to follow a god. Desna so you know. You two gots knowledge on this?" she notes her standing on the table and smirks "Don't be gettin any ideas about me dancing singin and what not."

Silver Crusade

Dolok chuckles at the dancing comment.

"I know i am not the best one to tell you about the gods, perhaps a priest is the best source of information."

He looks around the Bar.

"anyone?"

Silver Crusade

"As for myself," The heavily armored and overweaponed paladin steps forward. "I follow the Inheritor, and she makes it a little easy.

Bree-Bran reaches into a pouch and pulls out a well-worn book. "In here is a list of Her Blessed Acts. These are examples of how to do right, and make Golarion a better place. I am no priestess to tend and guide the people, but I do seek to do Good. I have the strength, much as Dolok would say he does," She nods to the tall northerner, "To see justice done, and oppose those that would destroy and corrupt the world."

The paladin pauses a moment, and flashes a dazzling smile.

"Feesh, if I know about Desna, and priestesses, you might have a couple of missions here. First, you need to experience life. Travel, see and understand experience, but then, you need to guide folk to do the same. To enhance what is here, and make sure they live to the fullest. Golarion is a place to be seen, explored and treasured, are tasks for followers of 'The Song of the Spheres' "

Then her countenance goes a little more grim. "But then, there is war. The demons threaten all that we have. If opposing the Enemy is in your travels, we can use all the help we can get. My sword-arm is strong, but it is not enough. Not alone."

Silver Crusade

Dolok turns and looks to Bree-Bran and gives a nod, after she finishes. He pulls a strange bluish toned warhammer and matching longsword, bring them together with a thunderous clang.

"You are not alone, that is why i am here... glory and honor to the fighters!"

Silver Crusade

Feesh ponders the words of Bree-Bran and plops down crosslegged on the table in thought. "So what I am understanding there is no...erm testing like when one joins the Society or the tests one has to go thru to join a gang like running the gauntlet, or killing somebody and the like." she orders a drink and ponders. "Starting over and being good is going to be more of a pain than learning my letters and numbers and I am almost finished with that." she then grins. "I know I will case the Desna temple and follow there people around, same plan worked on getting me into the Society, though I did get creative with the entrance testing. Yeah good to have a plan." She looks more relaxed. "So joining you all require any tests, money, or the like?"

A tall stout man with a jet black mane of thick hair and a boisterous beard hanging deeply from his chin appears in the room mysteriously as if out of thin air. His silvery half plate gleans from the light pouring in through a nearby window. Clutched in his right hands is the pummel of an ornate and pristine scabbarded long sword. Held close to the side of his waist and attached to his belt by metal rings. Next to him stands a massive plate mail clad lizard man that glares about in anticipation of a possible scuffle. His flickering tongue darts in and out absorbing scents and odor from the air, and the lizard man gives a slight hiss.

With strength of a mighty mountain and a deep rumbling of it's precipice the human paladin let's out a deep resonating greetings to all and then calms his companion in arms and proceeds to address the other attendees one by one, and always keeping alert to any possible deception......

The Lizard man becomes a little agitated as a few unkind remarks waif about the room.

"Small gossip seems to be the form of the day my lady." the human paladin states while speaking with a stern voice. "Does such nonsense ever end." "My friend has proven his loyalty many times over, and none for the better than am I for his devotion to the order!" The paladin adds.

"Thhiss is no plaaaccce for uss to sstand Idly my friend, theressss muchss too be done." The lizard man states with an eagerness in his speech.

"Do not worry friend, if they do not trust you, They do not trust me either." By our code of valor we belong here as much as any." "For all it's worth most of these recruits are fresh out of the stable and lack any true resolve." The paladin points to a few members and then expresses his intent for the lizard man to attempt to converse and offer a righteous act of mercy even upon those that would appear unworthy of it.

The lizard man complies.

Silver Crusade

"No, Feesh, you don't have to pay or anything like that. Maybe the Sczarni require payment? I agree with you that turning to the path of Serenrae is not easy."

Silver Crusade

Dolok glances at the new comer and sighs.

"No one questioned your friend, i have seen many strange things crossing to these shores."

He points at Doyle.

"like him, if i can shake the hand of the bat... well sorta hand, maybe the whole bat... i can afford the presence of a scaled creature. Mind you, i am not unfamiliar with scaled beasts, but your friend appears to be humanoid, instead of the animals i am used to eating."

He turns back to Feesh, waving the back of his hand at the unannounced and rude newcomer.

"I know nothing of numbers or letters... i never learned that. My people have a oral tradition, not really a written language.... at least i don't think they do? As far as testing, i say bring it on... that is what i am here for."

Silver Crusade

Feesh hrmms "Well here is the short of why I am trying to get info on following a god. A few years ago I took a bolt in the back and got dumped into a river. I was part of a gang at the time and facing off against some rivals. Well I was dead or should of been, all I recall was pain and then hitting the water. I woke up weak as a kitten in the back of a cart to the brightest head of orange hair and these huge sparkly eyes. It was a gnome named Fod. She was fishing that night and pulled me. Anyways she tended me thru infection and such as the bolt didn't hit any of the internal guts. So there I am weak and wounded but getting better and she refuses to use my real name, kept on about I was caught like a fish so would be Feesh and she was a follower of Desna and therefore Fod or Fisher of Dead. Either way I was with her for many months. We parted when she changed gods to follow as she was going to try them all before settling on one. I had choice of going back or taking the road she left the holy have and a note on. I chose the symbol and note and eventually made my way to the Society and here. Last I saw her she waiting to see which way a stick would fall and therefore which god she was going to follow. I did learn to read the note and all it said was. 'If you have doubts on your choice just remember fish makes me ill'. So I figure if somebody who gets sick on fish just ups and goes fishing in the middle of the night for no reason and ends up saving my hide, and is a following a certain god at the time I should be thankful and follow this god. " she glances about. "I'm not sure if all that is a true calling or what but I gots a second chance and well I intend to return the favor someway.

Silver Crusade

Dolok nods in thought.

"Sometimes we are chosen by the gods, but for the most part we must make the decision of whom to follow if anyone of them. A god may or not have saved you... do you feel a tie to this butterfly god, desna?"

Silver Crusade

Feesh ponders on this. "I don't really know. I feel a strong tie to breathing and I suspect I can thank Desna for that thru Fod. I like not having to constantly watch my back and the learning is something to focus on. I am curious though about Desna, butterflies are so fragile, yet pretty. They don't attack things as far as I know and yet there are followers. I should ask followers of Desna why they follow."

Silver Crusade

Dolok nods.

"you have chosen to join the silver crusade, that means you are protected by me and many of us here... likely all. Your path is laid in front of you, you simply must now find where it leads. Mine took me to this place and to the Silver Crusade, yours to faith, it would seem."

He shrugs his massive shoulders, popping a few tension cords in the process.

"I would seek out a priest or paladin of Desna, those holy people tend to be able to answer any questions of there faith. I do not know alot about butterflies to answer anything about them..."

Silver Crusade

Bree-Bran nods slowly, and looks to Feesh. "So long as your desires are for the good of the world and those innocents in it, I will fight for you. You may not have the same respect for systems and legalities as I have been raised in, but the good of all is most important."

Silver Crusade

Dolok nods and forgetting himself in the moment, slowly puts away his bluish colored Hammer and Longsword.

"Opps... i forgot to put those away."

He recovers himself after a sheepish grin.

"You have to be sure of yourself before you make any lasting decisions, right now your thoughts are strained and twisted by doubt... sit and take a while, perhaps visit a sweat lodge to cleanse yourself and see what lays ahead. The Butterfly god, may come to you... then you will know for certain."

Silver Crusade

Feesh nods and smiles "Well I striving for the whole good thing, its a work in progress." She looks Bree-Bran up and down. "I will fight my own fights, but won't refuse help. I do well enough in scrape I think." grinning she turns back Dolok. "I think I will get more knowledge before deciding." pausing slightly. "Sweat lodge, is that like a bathhouse?"

Silver Crusade

Dolok scratchs his head.

"umm, whats a bathhouse?"

Silver Crusade

Feesh looks confused. "It's a building where they have tubs full of hot water and you can clean yourself for a few coins. Think you can call em sweat lodge as the tubs of hot water does make one sweat. Only sweat lodge I know of is the grand lodge and well sweat ain't coming from relaxing."

Silver Crusade

"ohh... usually the sweat lodge is used to cleanse spiritually, if the weather permits...lakes and streams work for hygiene. I think that is what you mean? I should mention, since you likely were not here when i first introduced myself... this is my first time coming to the south. I did not know what a door was til like a week ago...now what is a tub?"

Silver Crusade

"Feesh, it seems your path here was something like mine."

Silver Crusade

Feesh can't help but chuckle slightly. "Um well lets see a tub can be called a very large bowl or a portable small pond?......ah I know half a walnut shell but large enough to fit a person in and you fill it with hot water and soak in till it gets cold or feet get all wrinkly" she looks quite proud of her explanation as she turns to Nonnie. "Oh do tell, I am curious. Was there a orange haired gnome involved?" she settles back to listen with a smile.

Silver Crusade

Dolok thinks for a moment.

" I suppose that would be more comfortable then a icy stream... but how does not fill and empty this "tub" so far from the water... are people carrying buckets of water and dumping them in to the tub and then doing the same in reverse?"

He brightens.

"This is one of those things you must magic up then?"

Silver Crusade

a average tall woman walks in saying "thanks for showing the way" to someone behind her as she comes in.
she have neck-long brown hair, wears a armored coat, a long blue skirt down to her leather boots. strapped on her back is a sturdy, simple longbow, a quiver and a small sack. Also around her neck hangs the only jewelry on her, a simple necklace with a drawn bow in the appearance of antlers.

"Hello, My name is Nadira Downsong, I'm told this is the Silver crusade?" she asks the first person she gets to "I'm unfamiliar with the procedure to join, could anyone here do me the favor and tell me?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Silver Crusade

Dolok turns from the table top to look at the newcomer. He looks her up and down and nods.

"This is the place where the Crusaders do indeed met... a few of us are also new to the organization... please step forward and let us hear of yourself."

Silver Crusade

"Hail and welcome to the Silver Crusade Nadira."

A black haired male dwarf dressed in full plate armor and carrying a silver tankard of fine dwarven ale extends his hand towards Nadira for a handshake.

"There is no procedure to join the Silver Crusade ma'am. All we ask is that you look to do good and help your fellows so long as you are a member here."

"Excuse me, I failed to introduce myself. I am Silver Crusader Rhon Delver. How might I assist you this day?"

Silver Crusade

Shakes Rhon Delvers hand "it is a pleasure to meet you Mr Delver, no assistance is needed, but pleasant company is always welcome" and puts the sack and bow on the floor against a wall with the other hand.

She turn towards the long and darkhaired man and gives him a nod.
"My name is Nadira and my story may not be so interesting. I'm a orphan raised by the Church of Erastil in a village in Nirmathas, the Priest there was also the chief of the guards in that village. I grew up admiring him and now I am merely following in his footsteps. joining the Crusade is the third step I make"

looks at Delver and smiles "and following him and God is my oath, bond and will to do good."

walk to the long and darkhaired man "pleasure to meet you sir" and present her hand for handshake, noticing the Halfling on the table "oh and you too Miss"

Silver Crusade

Bree-Bran gives a nod of greeting to the young paladin and then shifts the pair of greatswords on her back so she can sit at the table. "Good to meet you, and welcome to Absalom. If you have any questions, I hope I can help. I have some experience with the Society and the world." The woman speaks as if she could project across a battlefield, but is keeping her voice in check, and her soft Chelish accent isn't pronounced.

"I call myself Bree-Bran, and I follow the Inheritor. Hopefully you will have an easy time fitting in. Sometime those of our calling are not appreciated by the powers of the City. I think, though, that you will find the common folk will listen to what you have to say."

Silver Crusade

Dolok clasps her arm in a warriors handshake.

"Nadira, i am Dolok the shield, Spear of the Slothjaw tribe, it is a pleasure to meet you... our friend on the table is... well i best let her speak for herself."

He flashes a smile to Feesh.

"ohh and who is Erastil?"

Silver Crusade

A shortish female half elf walks in, she has red hair the color of flame and eyes as green as emeralds, wearing a muted greenish gray cloak.

"Greetings, I am Willow Feywind, I have just completed my first mission for this most honorable faction."

Silver Crusade

"Thanks for the welcome Bree-Bran, I hope and believe I will fit in, atleast among all here" smiling at Bree-Bran.

"that's a strong arm you have there Dolok! About Erastil, simply put, he is an old God over community, farming and hunting. one should lead a simple life doing what is good for your family or community." Nadira grins "Often depicted as a man with a head of an elk"

Nadira turns her head towards Willow as she speaks "congratulation Miss Feywind, and greetings. My name is Nadira Downsong and just joined this faction my self"

Silver Crusade

Saetria comes to a pause, lowering the flute from her lips and drawing in a breath. She then carefully places the instrument on her lap, flexing her fingers and rubbing at her hands, so as to keep them from cramping up.

Silver Crusade

Dolok smiles.

"Ahh, the powerful totem animal of the Elk... your god is wise in the ways of the world and in guiding his herd to the greener pastures. Lets see, that's Gorum, Iomedae, Sarenrae, Erastil, and Abadar.... wow, there sure are alot of deities around."

Dolok flexes.

"you can even touch it if you like."

Silver Crusade

Bree-Bran signals, and a round of whiskey, mead and ale is brought out for the house, with double for the potentially thirsty bard.

"Aye, it's going to take all of the good folk in the world to join together to defeat all the evil there is about. Good to see so many here!"

Silver Crusade

Nadira clap her hands as the bard quit playing while saying to Dolok "haha no thanks Mr. Dolok, maybe another time."
"I didn't actually expect so many people here and I'm overjoyed how wrong I was on that note" she says with a smile

Silver Crusade

Dolok chuckles.

"Ohh, and i forgot the butterfly god, Desna... so many to remember."

He looks down at Feesh and then back, scanning the room.

"Any followers of Desna here to Help Feesh?"

Silver Crusade

Feesh smiles widely and nods to Nadira. "I am Feesh Newleaf, also new to this group as there was no paperwork and such to join. I am working toward following the butterfly god Desna." Feesh grins at Dolok "That what written words are good for, remembering things and giving headaches while reading, finger cramps while writing."

Silver Crusade

The bat loses a good foot of height as he puts a wing over his head instead of flying for a moment Lets not get started on the whole writing thing again...

Silver Crusade

Feesh follows the movement of the bat for a moment. "I will have you know I got high marks on how neat and precise my writing is on my reports. I just need to work on puncture tation and grammer. I think I am doing well for just learning it recently." she scrunches up her nose for a moment in thought "Are you a mages familiar?" she enquires toward the bat.

Silver Crusade

Feesh jumps down from the table and stretches some. "Ok all take care. Got some casing to do" she waves and wanders out.

Silver Crusade

Dolok frowns.

"What is this casing? never heard that term before... unless you plan to make some kind of sausage? Which i don't think you mean to do..."
