That sounds tasty.

It is! It was at a Thai restaurant, and it was sweet, spicy, and salty all in one.

Silver Crusade

Today, French onion soup.

Dark Archive

Friends at work took me out for lunch since I won't be around for my birthday Friday. We had sushi it was good.

Change of plans, coworkers served nachos.

A piece of pork ham will be fried, braised with apples and served with mashed potatoes. Today and for the next three days.

Had a steak tartare and caramelized celestine filled with berries.

Ate a sandwich with jam. Should start making an actual dinner instead...

Yesterday's dinner: Cheese toast and tomato soup.

Today's breakfast and lunch: Zip

3:30PM-not-going-to-make-it-to-dinner meal: Bacon sandwich

Dinner (with the parents): Baked chicken, unknown sides, unsweetened ice tea

Meat is in the pot and potatoes are almost done.

I might overgorged myself a little bit. But only a little.

Going to see my parents today. I'm bringing shisbaraq, warak enab, malfuf, maklube, and a generous selection of arabian sweets.

My folks are kind of nuts about arabian food (myself as well, to be honest).

Scarab Sages

To tired to cook, so french fries, barbequeue sausages and lettuce salad.

Me too. And I have no idea what I will get to eat. Strange feeling not making own food. Or rather it will be when I start thinking about it...

Well, you can't go wrong with icecream. Everyone loves icecream.

Moose roast, potatoes and various other rootfruits, and gravy.

Silver Crusade

At the risk of making Drejk homesick: kielbasa and pierogi.

Silver Crusade

It looks like leftover fried chicken, wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon

Last of the Hungry Howie's.

Tomorrow and day after will be the last two TV Dinners I have sitting in the freezer. After that will either have to buy more or look at ordering something. I still have coupons to various local restaurants so....

Icecream yesterday.

Had last one yesterday and the former today on breakfast.

What filling was in pierogi? Was those pierogi ruskie (potatoes with quark)?

They were "potato and cheese", but I could not identify the cheese. It was soft, so probably quark, yes. They gave me an odd one that I think was a different variety, though. It seemed like shredded cabbage or something inside. It was good.

The kielbasa was of a thick smoked pork variety.

In Polish the same word (ser) means cheese (ser żółty), quark and cottage cheese (both referred to as ser biały).

Cabbage is one of the kinds of filling. It could be spiced cabbage, cabbage with mushrooms or cabbage with minced meat.

Silver Crusade

Cabbage with mushrooms, if I had to guess.

Today: Leftover homemade chicken stir-fry with Asian vegetables over brown rice, an apple, two pears, and a Diet Pepsi.

Leftover homemade whole wheat biscuits and leftover butternut squash couscous sautee. Mmm... oh, and half an avocado.

Turkey, sweet potatoes, salad.

Later I ate a few baguettes with quark and scallions or tuna salad.

I was running late this morning and didn't have time to make lunch at home before running off to work. I went out for a beef and bean burrito, a Diet Pepsi, and a bag of potato chips.

Chilli con carne made by mother.

Breakfast: 2 cups coffee.

Lunch: Salami on whitebread, glass of 1/2 iced tea + 1/2 Squirt soda

Dinner: With mom, apparently stuffed scallops and side of homemade mac & cheese (I dunno how she came up with that combo either)

That sounds adventurous of her!

How has the food been since the move?

I think that my weight went up...

Silver Crusade

This weekend my wife and her mom made a bunch of chicken and beef tamales.

Today it shall be chicken with spanish rice and refried black beans

Breakfast: Two cups coffee

Lunch: Splurged! $4 Steak 'n Shake double cheeseburger and fries

Dinner: 'Pasketti and meat-a-balls

Waffles. (Cause I'd forgotten to take stuff out of the freezer and the weather's pretty darn horrendous.)

Rice with pears and apples.

Lunch today was some leftover vennison stew over whole-wheat noodles, two Asian pears, and a pot of jasmine tea.

Rice and assorted vegetables. It's almost healthy! :O

Aiming for a beef tartare today.

Fancy me some raw meat.

You know enough about food to know how careful you need to be with the quality of the meat. Is good, though. Capers and egg and diced beets yum!

Thankfully I live in a country where the quality of food very rarely is an issue, which with my tendency to try weird stuff everywhere is likely the reason I'm still alive. After mining, growing food is sort of our specialty, and we're so geographically isolated that diseases just kind of give up (oddly enough, we have one of the highest rates of Creutzfeldt-Jacobs in the world, yet none of our cows have ever shown signs of Mad Cow's. Researchers think we got the short end of the stick from a group of immigrants in the early XXth century that ended being pretty prolific in terms of kids and it just stuck into the local genepool).

Double bacon guacamole burger. And waffle fries.

I could taste my arteries hardening and it was glorious.

homemade pasty. On the rare occasion that I make them, I always make a lot more than is needed so I can have leftovers for days.

A slice of homemade pizza with sauteed onions, black olives, Italian sausage, and kale; a salad of escarole, shredded carrots, and sliced radishes with store-bought Caesar dressing; a grapefruit; and an apple. And a large glass of water.

Silver Crusade

Chicken picatta, grilled asparagus, caesar salad and agua

Mongolian BBQ
