Darlann Silvercrown |
A tall half-elf in plate armour enters the room. His heavy breastplate is emblazoned with the symbol of Bahamut, the head of a platinum dragon. He looks around and clears his throat, ready to break the fourth wall.
"Hey guys, world-renowned Paladin of Bahamut Darlann Silvercrown here to give you a short tutorial on post formatting before we start."
As you can see, this is the alias for my Pathfinder 2 Society character, the archetypal Darlann (anyone who's played with me before has probably seen a Darlann). The first paragraph if this post was written without any formatting - that's for describing in-game action and scenery. The next line, in bold ([/b]) and between "quote marks", denotes speech.
And finally, the previous paragraph uses the [/ooc] or Out-of-Character tag to show that it's Edo speaking to the players outside of the game, Darlann thinks to himself. "Wait, I probably should've said out loud that the [/i] italics tag means it's my thoughts and you cannot hear them."
Let's show a quick combat round as an example.
Darlann swings his sword at the training dummy once again, roaring with sacred rage as he brings down the blade on the straw-filled sack.
Time to finish it, Darlann, once and for all... "I shall be your demise, fiend! Holy blade power of destruction, activate!" Activating Smite Evil.
Longsword + Smite Evil + Plot Power; damage + Smite Evil + Plot Power of Destructive Destruction: 1d20 + 4 + 3 + 42 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 3 + 42 = 541d8 + 2 + 3 + 64 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 3 + 64 = 74
