I'll have to remember the spring scroll trick.

My only TPK was in 2008, as I said elsewhere we didn't record it so I'm not going to rehash it. (Now I know better)

We almost killed a barbarian Saturday. I wasn't that worried, since the party was a full table, and I knew they'd be able to bind wounds with time to spare.

The scenario in question makes it difficult for animal companions to be there.

When my character played that, he strolled in wearing full armour with his weapons visible. Eat your heart out Taldor.

Per the discussion of that adventure on the GM board, that's perfectly legitimate if you're playing up your affiliations, Mergy...

Hasty check - I think the GM slots are all filled for the tables where I'm playing.

Silver Crusade 5/5

I might preempt a GM to give "certain" tables the fuller experience of a VC run...

Some GM's have said they'd rather "play"...

Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to taunt you. If I could afford to come that way, I totally would. Not even sure how many "wife" points it'd cost me but paizocon was a $800 ticket just for the flight. So I guess similar for CA.

I do enjoy taunting your players though. :P

You weren't trying to steal my tables were you? It's been an epic journey to get this close already.

You should continue to enjoy taunting my players. That is, after all, what they are there for. :)

As far as coming to Kublacon, if you can afford it (wife and real currency), you should. It's going to be a blast. We are up to 140 tables of PFS goodness, 5 VCs, 4 VLs, the PFS Campaign Coordinator, a real Pirate, sweet ass judge rewards, a Shivok, and one Yahoo.

Everyone here is also invited to KUBLACON 2012. Btw, it's free airport shuttle from SFO to hotel...it's easy transportation.

At some point, I would like to perfect my teleportation ability so that I can attend all these cons.

+ infinity

Silver Crusade 5/5

I'd rather work on my Multiple Man abilities and attend all the events at once. :P

Silver Crusade 2/5

Crimeny, this reminds me I still need to get signed up for that (weekend after finals, woot!). Still need GM's, O Master of Pain?

Go ahead - I can take it (I think ...).

My 2nd PFS game was at a table run by a VL, and at two of the local game store events I've been at a table run by another VL. I've also sat in as an observer on a table run by our local VC (Azmyth), where Painlord was one of the players (and at least two others were VLs, IIRC).

But I think I'd like to get just a little more experience with the rules before running a table at a con. It's OK if I screw up at our FLGS - the other players know me, and there are plenty of more experienced folks around to rescue me if I miss something. But it's a lot more responsibility to carry if you're judging for a table of strangers; you're representing the con, not just yourself, so you need to be on the ball.

While I've got years (decades, in fact) of experience with RPGs, I'm quite new to Pathfinder. I've only got 11 PFS sessions under my belt as a player (plus two as a GM), so while I think I've got the basics covered by now there are a lot of classes, spells, feats, etc. that I've only seen in passing.

To veer close to the original topic of the post; in the two tables I have run, I haven't actually killed any characters yet. But that is, in part, possibly due to my inexperience: the second scenario was The Dalsine Affair, and I believe I made a minor error in tactics when combat was initiated one round before everything would have been ready. It seems pretty trivial - a sub-optimal choice of swift action on the first round of combat - but as things transpired that would have resulted in enough extra damage to end up with a dead character.

I'd rather work on getting his powers, and have the best of both worlds.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Yea, but Multiple Man isn't actually a "mutant" he's an early evolution chain of Mutant which doesn't have the X Gene that Mimic requires.

Sovereign Court 5/5 RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32, 2010 Top 8

Well has Calvin ever tried it?

Going further off topic, I played MSH years ago. Got a mutant with only one 'real' power. Residual absorbtion. Started out calling him 'Knick Knack' as he'd collect souviners. Later when I'd burn karma to learn a power permanently, the name 'Arsenal' became appropriate.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Dunno...I haven't "followed" marvel in a while. I've just loved Multiple Mans ability to clone at will and for them to act independently. The only thing that would make his powers cooler IMO would for them to be able to hive mind if they wanted. Kind of like linking to the internet, or not linking.

It's not my fault all the NPCs and Monsters at my table are more successful than at other tables! I'm a born leader and my inspiration to kill, maim and torture just can't be contained.

I think I got Care Baird Fever (see Ghoul Fever) during Cult of the Ebon Destroyers...or no...probably more likely UCon...I wasn't this lethal till after Ucon...

the unspoken rule to surviving a TPK: jump out a window. It doesnt matter if your on the first floor or in a tower. Even if your underground, create a dimentional window and jump out it.

My group got TPKed in the last session... It was the most fun I've had in years! We were about to go to 2nd level, too. Still, if the dice say it's time to die, it's time to die!

It's actually the reason I prefer organized play...no coddling. Or at least, there isn't supposed to be any.

Shipudi: At yesterday's session, the party ranger jumped out of a window and the Annis Hag went right out after him. Ten seconds later what was left of the noble ranger fit into a tin bucket.

Do you need a personal invite? Stop posting on the boards and sign up, AD! :)

You can easily find slots to GM for the Intro's and Tier (1-5) slots and others.

We currently have 131 of 144 covered and your contributions are appreciated.

I TPK'd my table, on the first combat vs. zombies. It was a perfect storm, no one had slashing weapons, all of them 1st levels. Last zombie had 2 hp, and rolled a crit on the still standing sorceror. :(

You're attending a hoighty toighty opera, they're not going to let the "Large Cat" in.

Put a Pink bow on his tail and say he's a decoration for act three :)

Every time someone won't let the pet into the party it means they're going to try to killing me...

I once had a fighter attend some fancy party. The door man/guard wanted him to check his weapon. My fighter points at his sword, which was battered and bloodstained from previous events. "Oh, this" he says, "it's decorative." The GM raises an eyebrow and rolls to discern my obvious bluff, rolls a 1. My fighter was armed for the eventual ambush. :)
