I'd like to announce and welcome two new Venture Lieutenants for Central/Southern Illinois...

Jeff Morse aka jjaamm is based in Champaign-Urbana, IL

Seth Gipson aka godsDMit is based in Carbondale, IL

Both have been a great help in covering areas that are otherwise hard for me to personally visit on a regular basis. Together with Shaun Burton (VL for Peoria, IL) our team is poised to make PFS the preeminent game in Illinois with aspirations to meet or exceed the success of Living Greyhawk.

Please join me in saluting our newest members.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Scarab Sages 4/5

Congratulations to both of you!

The Exchange 5/5 RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16

I've gotten a chance to work with all of Bob's lieutenants. To an individual, they are terrific people: working to make sure that the players are having a good time, the GMs are supported, the conventions are well supported and the brand name is shown in the best possible light.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Congrats guys!

Sczarni 5/5

Awesome sauce. Look me up if you ever travel north.

Liberty's Edge 4/5

So, does ChambanaCon still exist?

Are there any close to Mt.Vernon, IL? I am in Salem and Carbondale is almost as far as STL for me, so was just wondering if there is anyone a little closer.

Try this link. http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/events. I dony know wom is the closest to you with a regular game. Problem is, that ther ecould be one right next door but if they dont creat an event for it than you dont know. Im bad about not doing this myself. other than that you can start a thread in the lodge section and hope someone responds.

Not that I am aware of, though I have been looking for someplace around Mt Vernon that might be suitable to host PFS. Just havent found anything yet. Do you have any suggestions?

Silver Crusade 4/5

Congrats! Look forward to meeting all of you at Winter War!

Grand Lodge 5/5

Congrats, I'm in far southern IN, where there us not much of a presence for PFS, Carbondale is almost as close to me. Going to try to make it to Winter War. Hope to meet you guys there.

Whereabouts in Indiana? Anywhere near Evansville? I dont know how close any of the Indiana VOs are to you, but Evansville is just an hour or so from me, and I have been looking into areas where play might be expanded that way as well...assuming that wouldnt be me stepping on any Indiana VO toes, that is.

If you make it to Winter War, make sure to catch me so I can pick your brain about locations, if you know of any. :)

I'm an hour from Evansville too, sort of in the middle of nowhere. Jasper, IN pretty much an hour to an hour and half from any major city. There is a VO in Blooomington( See CommonCon) but I don't think they handle anything this way. Pretty new to PFS so trying to get my bearings, definitely will look you up at Winter War of I can make it.

Yeah, I have family in Birdseye/Huntingburg/Washington so I know the remoteness of the area. I am not aware of any game stores down/over there until you get to Vincennes, and even then I haven't been there in a few years so they might not have one anymore. The next best area is Evansville. I recall some players posting about games in that area in the past, but I can't find anything on Paizo's events search page. If there is anything going on there, its not being registered. A quick online search does not return any game stores. Your best bet might be to post in the Grand Lodge thread looking for games/players. Wish I could be more help. :-(

I've found a couple comic shops that I figured I could probe for interest, with Mike and Tracey's blessings of course. I dont know if any of them would even have enough space to run a game, but since Pathfinder now has a comic, I might be able to swing something. :/

Grand Lodge 5/5

@Bob and Seth, there is a game store in Huntingburg, but as of yet I have not reached out to them, holidays and such. Anytime I've gone by, they appear to focused on Minis, though I haven't spoke to them so I could be wrong. A friend told me they did carry PF books. I'll make it point to get down there. Not sure how many people play down here though.

@ Bob, small world.

@ Mike, hey Mike, hoping to get to CommonCon to meet everyone, been meaning to get up there for a Tue. night but its hard with family.

Either way I'm highly motivated to drum up some PFS I'm this neck of the woods, or at worst, Have PFS #, will travel.

Hi Hawkwen,
You may want to try some online games as well. The Pathfinder Society Online Collective has frequent games.

Greetings from up north!

Rene

Liberty's Edge 4/5

I hope to make it to Winter War so I can meet up with new and old friends.

We still have plenty of open seats. If you make it, look me up. I'll be the short, fat, bald guy with the goatee and red polo at HQ :-)

That'll teach me to make a quick post as I'm running out the door to run PFS on NYE!

Well, good thing, since we play Monday nights in Btown at the moment :) If you had come up on Tuesday, we'd have had to get a special get-together for ya. I can imagine that would be quite a bit of a drive on a weeknight...

Are you on Facebook? We have a group for PFS Bloomington where we also discuss other game nights (the last few months we've had a few on Friday and Saturday nights too, in addition to our regular FLGS-hosted Mondays).

As for CommonCon, have you signed up to play any tables? Seats are going surprisingly fast! No matter what, we'll get you in to play if you're able to make it out! :)

I signed up for tables a week or two ago. Hoping a last minute development doesn't affect my plans though. As far as Facebook, I don't really use it, but that may have to change.

Ah ha. I'm guessing you signed up with a name other than Hawken Agricola than? :)

Glad you're all signed up - I won't be hard to spot once you arrive - just look for the really tall guy with the beard and glasses in a green VL shirt.

So there is a game store in Centralia and it has plenty of tables and owners willing to have people come in and run things. I was wondering if one of the venture captains would mind getting in touch with me and lets work something out maybe. my name is Corey 205-266-3596 (AL phone number cause that is where I am orig. from). I have a venture captain Mike who lives in Birmingham, AL that is a good friend of mine and got me hooked on this. I am really hoping to being able to play or even run if needed soon.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Im no VC, but I think I'm the closest VO to you in the region.

PM sent. :)

YAY!

If anyone is interested in coming out for this, my wife and I will be there the entire time, helping to make characters and hopefully run an actual scenario, enough players permitting.

Come help us launch a new PFS venue! :D

Grand Lodge 5/5

Wish I could make it, its a nice FLGS. Stopped by there last weekend.

Grand Lodge

Should be every Sunday afterward, same time. Just too bad they're starting on my work weekend.

Grand Lodge 5/5

I cannot commit to being there every weekend. I can probably do once maybe twice a month. I will be looking for anyone interested in taking up the GM mantle to help the venue get a game going on a more regular basis than I can manage myself. Even if we are able to find someone (or more than 1 preferably) who are willing to GM, I will still come help out when and where I can. :D
