I didn't see this posted and recently came across it, so I thought I'd share:
Thomas Jefferson wrote: I had rather be shut up in a very modest cottage with my books, my family and a few old friends, dining on simple bacon, and letting the world roll on as it liked, than to occupy the most splendid post, which any human power can give.

There's actually an Italian dish, spaghetti carbonara, which is essentially what this was, I just didn't have all the ingredients for that either though, so I improvised.
You'll want to look up an actual recipe but basically:
1. cook some pasta
2. cook some bacon (diced)
3. remove the bacon from the pan, drain the grease
4. heat up some onion and garlic in a little olive oil
5. add the bacon to the pan, then add the noodles (or if you're making a lot of noodles, add everything to the now empty pot).
6. add 1 beaten egg to the noodles, add parmesan cheese, add olive oil as necessary to keep the noodles loose
I love left over pasta, so whenever I make something like this I usually make a big batch and eat it for a couple days. You can skip the egg, onion and garlic if you need to, but they do round out the dish. Really the key is lots of bacon and lots of cheese IMO.

Same occurrence, just over one week later.
Mmmmm....nearly the perfect hybrid between crunchy and chewy.
The memories of delicious bacon that once was, and hopes of delicious bacon yet to be, are all that is sustaining-tormenting me through the sad yogurt breakfast of today.
I'm eating bacon and reading this thread.
Sadly, I need more bacon. So does this thread.
