Alright you two. I'm still working on Powers, but here's the rest... First off, lets get the new mechanics out of the way.

NEW MECHANICS EXPLANATION-

1. Aspects. These are double-edged character traits that will help to flush out characters. You get to make them up, and you really do WANT them to be truly double edged. You can get a +2 to a relevant skill or saving throw if your aspect is working in your favor, but if your aspect is screwing you over, (or if you see a way it could screw you over and suggest it) you get a Fate Point. The Screwing over will be known as a Complication. You have 5 Aspects, and ill get more into these in the Character Creation phase. The 5 are High Concept, Trouble, Origin, Encounter, and Conclave. Make them interesting, make them both useful and dangerous. Also, try to make the phrasing interesting too.

2. Fate Points. By spending a fate point, you can do the following- Reroll, Add your level to any roll, Force an Enemy/Ally to Reroll, Avoid Death, Prevent a Complication from one of your Aspects, Cause someone else to suffer a Complication based on one of their Aspects (You can learn Aspects with Sense Motive, or you can guess.), Declare a Story Detail (With DM Approval. Jumping off a roof? Spend a fate point, and 'Luckily, a passing wagon full of hay breaks my fall'), or use a Power Stunt (More on those when I get Powers figured out, but.. Way Outside-the-box uses of your power. Like Thor using his Lightning powers to jump-start a car.)

3. Wise's. Extremely focused Knowledge skills, (Possibly a little Craft skill in there too, depending) Wise skills represent hobbies and casual knowledge, while Knowledge skills represent more formal training/professional interest. You get a number of Wise points each level equal to your Int mod or Cha mod, minimum 3.

CHARACTER CREATION-

1. High Concept- First, Decide on a High Concept Aspect for your Character. A short phrase that sums up what your character is about. Think of this aspect like your Job, your role in life. It's what you're good at, bit its also a duty and comes with problems of it's own.
Some Examples: Monster-slaying Accountant, Despicable Sheriff of Nottingham, Singing Knight of the Round Table, Black Sheep of the Roosevelt Family, Low level thug for the Mariachi Mafia...

2. Trouble- Every character has something that complicates his existence. Broadly, the Trouble aspect is broken into two groups. Personal and Relationship. Whatever you go with, it should NOT be easy to solve. if it was, your character would have done so already. On the other hand, you should choose something that gives you a little leeway, something that won't be constantly interfering with game-play or plot. Also, it should be something unrelated to your High Concept. If your a Honest Cop, saying your trouble is The Criminal Underworld Hates Me... Well, duh. Now, if you go with something like Don Corleone Personally Hates ME... that's a bit better.
Some Examles of Personal: Attracted To Shiny Objects, Sucker For a Pretty Face, In Love With The Bottle, Manners Of A Goat...
Some Examples of Relationships: Family Man, Debt To The Mob, The Mayor Wants Me Dead, Escaped Test Subject...

3. Origin- This is your Character's First true adventure. First Caper, First heroic deed, whatever. You'll need to think up and write down the basic details of the story for this one, as well as the next two Aspects. Dosent need to have a huge amount of detail, just a couple sentances. As for the Aspect... Maybe you learned that Smashing is Always An Option? Maybe you had a traumatic encounter, and now you've got a Debilitating Fear of Snakes? Get inventive.
Examples: I Owe My Mentor Everything, Initiate of The Secret Order, Sucker for a Sob Story, Not The Face!...

4. Encounter- Something involving another person (NPC) in your past. An extremely formative experience, something that has either made you who you are or haunted your every waking hour. While you don't have to, this is a good place to add an NPC (living or dead) to your back-story. Lover, Child, Sibling, Parent, Mentor, Enemy... Maybe you killed someone. Maybe you learned that all lawyers are bastards. Maybe you had your heart or your legs broke. Maybe you made a friend in an unlikely place.
Examples: All Men Are Bastards, I've Got Zird's Back, Doesn't Suffer Fools Gladly, An Eye For an Eye, I Love Amelia Pond...

5. Conclave- How you Met the other PC, or your First Adventure Together. The Two of you get together on this one, figure out how s$#! went down. You don't have to have the same Aspect for this, though you can if you want to. The Aspect for this one is very open ended.
Examples: See any of the above.

6. Starting Fate Points- You start with 3. No max, and after plot points you get to reset to 3 if you're lower.

7. Normal Character Creation- Or just use the ones you've already got and make the previous steps fit.

8. Wises- You get Int Mod or Cha Mod (highest) to spend on Wises. Minimum 3. Explained these a bit earlier, but here are some examples- Chinese Restaurants, Lounge singers, Action Movies, Romance novels, Internet Porn, etc. Let me stress- Please don't build a Fighter with Sword Smiths, Sword Styles, and Local Fight Clubs Wises. Wises are here to round out your character and make him more interesting. Sword-Fighting Fighter-fighter, who knows about Swords and Fighting is not interesting, he's boring. Now, A fighter who can tell you all about Foreign Beer, knows all the Local Musicians, and knows a hundred and fifty Dirty Jokes... That sounds more like an interesting character. Plus, the feeling you get when your knowledge of Macaroni Art defeats the BBEG is pretty priceless.

ALRIGHT-

If you guys could put your characters up on
http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumhome.php
And post links here, that'd be great. Please make sure to fill out your character's freaky description under "Description" and your Race Build under "Other Notes". I'd say, Put your Aspects under "Character Flaws", with the short Blurbs for Origin, Encounter and Conclave somewhere else.... Hmm, maybe in Other Notes as well. Wherever they'll fit, just make it easy for me to find and read your Aspects. Might want to post them here too, with the blurbs, just for funsies, and so I can judge you, and tell you why you are making your character wrong. (/jk)

Next Few Posts will be some further Info on Setting and Geography. Not tonight, though. Crashing for now. Throw up any questions you guys have, and I'll try to answer them before we get going for realsies.

NOT ACCEPTING NEW PLAYERS.

Edit- Heck, while your at it, give me a total rundown of your characters here. Aspects, Description, background....
