Is there a feat/magic item/spell that will enable a mounted character on a horse to charge through difficult terrain?
ie. Would Horseshoes of a Zephyr work?
Nimble Moves will allow your horse to ignore 5' of difficult terrain; Acrobatic Steps with allow him to ignore 20'. It's also much easier to qualify for these feats than Dragon Style, since they only require Dexterity and 3 Int.

Any 2nd level animal companion can get dragon style. The qualifications are easy.
Really?
Still have to meat the Prereqs.
Str 15, Improved Unarmed Strike, Acrobatics 3 ranks.
Acrobatics 3 ranks is the stopper. 3rd level is the absolute earliest you can take Dragon Style.
But yes, this is an easy way to achieve charging through difficult terrain once your mount is 3rd level or higher.

I don't understand how you would give a horse Improved Unarmed Strike?
Even if you bump his Int to 3 (at level 4, and you don't get next feat till level 5) the AC still has to be physically capable of using the feat...
so even if you really stretched it and said they would be physically capable of making unarmed strikes, they still wouldn't be able to get Dragon Style until the feat after that one, which would be level 8.
I don't know how you figure Dragon Style at lvl 2....

The requirements for Dragonstyle are Str 15, Improved Unarmed Strike, Acrobatics 3 ranks.
Strength is no problem. Acrobatics is no problem at level 3. Improved Unarmed Strike is the tricky part. So let's look at Animal Companion Rules.
Feats: This is the total number of feats possessed by an animal companion. Animal companions should select their feats from those listed under Animal Feats. Animal companions can select other feats, although they are unable to utilize some feats (such as Martial Weapon Proficiency). Note that animal companions cannot select a feat with a requirement of base attack bonus +1 until they gain their second feat at 3 Hit Dice.
So Animal Companion can choose a feat at 1st level.
I CAN select Improved Unarmed Strike. It is, however, unable to utilize the feat. But it can select the feat.
So, having selected Improved Unarmed Strike at level 1, it builds its ranks in Acrobatics at level 3. However it does not get to select Dragon Style at that time. The next time it gets a feat selection and is capable of meeting all requirements is level 5.
Intelligence is not a necessary prerequisite for either Dragon Style nor Improved Unarmed Strike. Nor is Intelligence required to select feats off of the Animal Companion list, as is demonstrated above in the rules. It is not necessary to utilize a feat in order to select a feat. For example a Fighter can select Combat Casting. The rules for Animal Companions specifically use the feat Martial Weapon Proficiency as an example of feats an animal may select, even though it cannot utilize the feat. So there is no need to increase the companion's Intelligence, Awaken it, or give it a headband of intellect.
But I have to correct myself. An animal companion can select Dragon Style, but not at level 3, but at 5th level.

Huh. Never saw that before. Thats nice and contradictory with whats on the other page... grumble....
Animal companions can select from the following feats:[list of feats here] Animal companions with an Intelligence of 3 or higher can select any feat they are physically capable of using. GMs might expand this list to include feats from other sources.
So can my panda learn kung fu (unarmed strike) right out of the gate or not...

I believe it's saying that your panda can be taught kung fu at level 1 (taking the Improved Unarmed Strike feat), but it won't be able to use that feat until it gets an Int of 3 or higher.

Well I guess we need to FAQ this then, because on one page it says you can take ONLY 'animal feats' (which are listed) UNLESS you have an Int of at least 3, and ONLY if they are physically capable of using it.
on the other page, it says they can take other feats, but are not able to utilize some of them.
Which is it? They can't both be right.
So as far as Dragon Style goes:
When you can get it depends hugely on which paragraph is correct, and tyhe interpretation of the rules by the GM...
SO: either level 5 (if you can take Imp. Unarmed at 1)
or level 8 (if you need to wait for Int 3 to get Imp. Unarmed)
or never (If an animal can't take Imp. Unarmed)

What's stopping it from using unarmed strike?
Lack of imagination. Any creature with a physical body can make an unarmed strike, but not all creatures can take the improved unarmed strike feat. As such, any creature that can take the feat, and has a physical body, can utilize it.
