Stacking and Unarmed Strike-enhancing weapons

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

While wearing brass-knuckles, cestus and assorted other monk weapons which modify unarmed strikes, what's the word on how they stack with Ki or items like Amulets of Mighty Fists? (I'm assuming all dissimilar bonuses stack; and usage of the weapons does not preclude employing feats which modify unarmed strikes.)

Cestus and Brass Knuckles are alternative striking options, you're hitting with one or the other.

Brass Knuckles (and 'possibly' the Cestus as well) 'can' conceivably stack with an Amulet of Mighty Fists (Higher Enhancement bonus applies, count all abilities to a maximum equivalent value of +10) however, this is subject to DM decision.

We had a massive discussion over this before, and I don't recall ever getting a final answer. In the end it was just 'talk to your DM.'

I am going to say that it works much like casting greater magic weapon, upon a +1 weapon. You get only the higher of bonuses, and non-similar abilities stack.

Is there new errata or something I missed on these?

Last I heard, Cestus, Brass Knuckles, etc. were all standard weapons as far as function goes.

They don't interact with Amulet's of Mighty Fists any more than a Temple Blade does.

I wish I knew what still counted as an unarmed strike. Are the Cestus, Brass Knuckles, and Gauntlet unarmed strikes, or weapons, or both? If any still count, then they would interact with an amulet of mighty fists as stated above.

As far as I know if you are using something OTHER than your fist then it is an armed strike. You are hitting with an Unarmed attack, or an armed one.

Rather than repeat the same arguments again, I'm simply going to link the relevant thread. By all means read it for yourselves guys.

Brass Knuckles + Amulet Discussion

I should note that this isn't the only one, just the one with which I'm most familiar.

That thread predates the errata which removed most of the confusing special properties from Brass Knuckles by almost 7 months.

Anyone reading it should bear in mind that it isn't really relevant anymore.

Ah, could someone please quote the relevant errata for me then? I haven't seen it yet, and I can't spare the time to look it up at the moment.
