I have generally interpreted double weapon damage in D&D, including the lance charge bonus, to mean 2d6 rather than 2*1d6. If there is a specific statement somewhere in the rules that contradicts this, by all means please point me to it, but if it's just from the description of the lance, just use 2d6.
Nope, no specific statements; just the voices in my head. Those voices are not to be trusted, I tell you.

I think I like my mental version, even if it would require one of the dog collars from 'Up'.
Hey, Kyrademon, can we get one of those collars for Attatoq?
Myriana Bayden |
Well I guess the guys do seem to have more room. What's one more to share a bed with? ;p
Actually, before Kyra put me in the middle of the "ladies" wagon, I was assuming Myri would be mostly outside. Either under a wagon or off to the side as long as it wasn't raining or really damp/muddy. She's a little more used to open areas. Though she has no problems spending some nights with the girls as well.

Now what might that ... left unsaid be? hmmmm. ;)
Lilac-scented wolf leavings? Since he's obviously well-trained and disposes of bodily waste far outside, then rubs up against fragrant plants so that his shed fur makes the entire men's wagon smell like a fresh spring glade.
right?

The manwagon smells like a locker room. It's inevitable.
I think the manwagon's odor could be convincing Kalimac to sleep atop the wagon, in the driver's seat. You know, Kalimac is small. The wagons, and their seats, are built for much bigger folks than him. With his bedroll he could be quite comfortable. At least till the weather turns cold. But for now he could be following Myri's example and roughing it outside with Attatoq.
When it gets cold he'll join the manwagon and brave the odor. But for now the lures of brisk outdoor living are quite compelling.
Myriana Bayden |
Yeah, but oog I had a bone with raw meat still on it that was still waiting approval on my shopping list before that came up ic. I just decided not to post as such afterwards. So Attatoq did get another bone, he just got it "behind your back" :p
I guess Attatoq has a following. All hail his furriness!

It was the greatspear. You have to stay true to your hammer.
The spear is actually my primary weapon (and I have a +1 bonus to attacks with it). I'm glad I didn't have to charge through that monster's reach with the hammer.
17 HP, ouch. Knew it was going to hurt. Another of these and I'll have to dig up a backup character. Well, I have a lot of ideas. ;P
As for the manly wagon: I suggest mandatory Prestidigitation treatments twice a day.
Hrunndalf Jarlsson |
Because girls smell nice. That's just science.
Except maybe for the quarter-orcs. ;o)
Hey, could anyone spare a spell against that ogre? He's tearing us apart. A Grease or so would be shiny.
By the way, do I get the trait bonus to attack while Ameiko is threatened even against enemies other than the ones threatening her directly...? I guess not?

I used to work as a stage technician in a theater. We occasionally would have professional ballet companies performing. I can state categorically that ballerinas are some of the most disgusting humans I've ever met. Backstage in the dressing rooms, at least.
I've just been too nice to generalize from ballerinas to other women.

Hrithik might be persuadable to relocate to the other supply wagon, like the two drivers for Sandru do with their supply wagon. It would let him keep an eye on alchemical processes set to run overnight, as well as just be a fresher place :-) ... Kalimac and Attatoq would be more than welcome if they would agree to not jostle the fermentation and distillation apparati.
In other news, Hrithik's been reading the relevant books for awhile, and has been setting up a still with the alchemical lab. At 3rd level, Hrithik will take a rank in Profession (brewer), which will let him serve as a Cook role. This has the same game-mechanical benefit to the caravan of reducing Consumption as Scout, so he would probably serve better there, crafting beverages and sauces and dyes and flavors.
GM: Would Hrithik need to buy Craft (distillates) to purify hard alcohol, or is that covered under Craft (Alchemy)? Profession (brewer) wouldn't normally go beyond wine and beer and mead, but Hrithik's looking for whiskey and Everclear and 200-Proof pure alcohol supplies.

Rhost and Hrithik, molecular gastronomists of the Inland Sea.
No, Ranbhir and Mab-i-gof has a better ring to it.

Yes, Scouts reduce Consumption more than Cooks.
I will look up the rules on alcohol making. It may take me a little while to get to it.
In terms of sleeping outside the wagons, the nights get extremely cold. The NPCs would also prefer that the one extra supply wagon be kept "free", if possible.
The +1 combat trait bonus only applies to those enemies who are threatening your trait NPC.

If on the other hand, whenever you feel it is getting overly uncomfortable for her (as we move up north, probably fairly soon?) she would most certainly move inside when available.
Also, if there is anything wrong with my logic, please feel free to let me know or just give me comments in general.
Hope you are having fun on your vacation with Beth and we are not being too much of a bother. ;p Thank you for running this pbp.

Couple of notes:
1) A whispered conversation is actually DC 15 for someone close by, not DC 25. The message spell is explicitly different because you can essentially subvocalize.
2) In response to several questions/comments on the subject -- please sleep in the wagons so that your character does not die when the next bandit group is quieter and uses a coup de grace on you instead of charging in.

Sorry, I will try to make it more clear in my description, but when Mel does the 'DC 25 Perception' it is because she is taking advantage of the unlimited cantrips... message being one of them.
I apologize for confusion, and will be better in the near future. (and in the post that I just edited)

So what you're trying to say is that adventuring is inherently dangerous. Ahhhh, I see.
Wait, why didn't someone tell me this? I think Kalimac's insurance premiums just went up.

If I need the language to know the chants... Well, Mel still doesn't speak the language. :) In my head at least.
