(Please read this next word in the voice of the Super Smash Bros. Announcer)
Congratulations!
Now it's time for the hard work.
For an adventure we are going with a modified end of an adventure path, specifically Rise of the Runelords(Sorry if you have played it). The end of an AP was the most popular option, and Runelords is the AP I have the most experience with. I ran in IRL group of 5 through the Anniversary edition as the first thing I ever GM'd in Pathfinder. They died in book 6 before the final boss, and your adventure will exist in the world they molded.
Can you succeed where they failed?
This adventure begins in Sandpoint, in Varisia. The town came under attack by a raiding party of Stone Giants and a Red dragon about a month ago. Though they were repelled by the fabled "Hero's of Sandpoint" they caused much damage to the town.
Half of the great theater is burned down. The top of the Cathedral was knocked down by the dragon. The famed Rusty Dragon Inn, has lost it's rusty dragon, as it was used as a large weapon and dropped on a pair of stone giants.
It is up to you 5 if your characters traveled here as a party or separately, but either way, Our adventure will begin just after your arrival in town. Please use this space to decide. I will post the first story post tomorrow or Wednesday where we will begin in earnest.
Rosa Luminass |
Thanks GM:
I am happy for Rosa to be in a party going there and be known by the others well. You would know who she is and what she can do etc.
Rosa also has her own Demi-plan which is her office, which she would grant you all access too.
Inner Offie
Outer Office
Feel Free to have a room there and keep stuff in. She is lawful so your stuff will be safe.
Note: Rosa always show as LN, but you may suspect thats off, how ever she IS far more Lawful than Evil.
GM: I have changed her domains from Death to Knowledge, just to have her be less evil and dark. Altered her Dammed feats to pick up the slack.

Hi! Thanks for the picking.
As for the knowing each other, it depends on what you expect from us or what you guys like more. IMHO, knowing each other beforehand takes us more directly to the point, whereas being strangers makes the game slower at the beginning but there'll be tons of roleplay. I'm with any options, both have positive points.
Theoretically, Laszlo would specifically go to places where folks are opressed by a tyrannical government and the like, but he's more focused in the 'Hope' portfolio of Milani than in 'Uprising' so, if he's somewhere nearby, he would dive head first to help the poor citizens of Sandpoint in their direst hour.
Latharien "Lefty" Setiva |
I'm bringing Lefty down from his earlier highest level and higher stats. If it looks like he's got too much skill points, treasure, etc., I'm just not done adjusting it.
I sorta like the idea that we don't know each other, though we've probably heard of each other and may have shared a few adventures in the past, given our level.
Drogar White-Tusk |
Since the undead threat that wiped out his tribe is gone from the other thread, will alter Drogar's story to reflect that he grew up in the orphanage in Sandpoint and was summoned from the Mammoth lands from a childhood friend. He had never met the other players would make most sense.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Yeah, 18th level people be like, what, close to demigods, or something? They fly or teleport to wherever they want and do mostly whatever they need to do. They use vast amounts of gold on a daily basis, and the creatures they fight are the ones to scare a whole kingdom. So yeah, probably they're heard of, and probably they've heard of each other, if only vaguely. Specially with someone like Rosa. 'Yeah, that hellish lass who's scary as s~++. I heard she once faced a big black dragon and got it so scared it peed on its pants, fled home and never came back.'
Rosa Luminaass |
I agree it's why sort to to de-Mary-Jane my PC.
Giving her weaknesses and Drawbacks.
A "one PC dose all" is no fun at all.
Rosa sword is her strength and her weakness.
She knows little of the local news or events .
Her AC is not great, by no means is she a tank.
She Illusion dose not hid her form.
And she is not really that much of a "face" for any party.
Not so much a people person. Hehe
Means what ever it is that's needed to be done she can't do it alone.
'Lil |
On the lines of knowing Lil, I leave it up to you. He tends to keep a low profile. My thoughts are somewhere along the lines of stories about him. But, if you decide to know him or know of him I'll totally roll with it.
Rosa Luminass |
In Rosa's view there is always and Elf queen someplace, ,mostly in green woods, hugging tress and being all flowers and tea party's. Being all wise and mysterious while sending others off on Prophecy's. Sorry one of Rosa's pet hates in flouncing elf nobility hehe
GM MT007 |
Hey, I haven't doubled checked everyone's sheets but I just wanted to make sure you all saw the part about you getting a +5 resistance bonus to saves, so cloaks of resistance are mute.
If you didn't feel free to swap out before we really get going, I thought about it because the Muleback cords, one of my favorite cheap items, would come in handy about now..
Just a note, we will call that bonus a supernatural ability.
Rosa Luminass |
My intro was a little awkward.
It was fine, he's a good counter to Lil PC.
A finely dresses elf and a dressed down one, makes for a nice image. One a planes hobo whose seen thing you would not believe and the other courtly dandy used to walking the halls of power and playing power politics with Elves and fey [Good luck with that one, fey game, shudder, give Rosa Hells politics any day].
It's good you both made PCs with great KN skills, that will help with Rosa. Poor Girl dose not get out much so knows very little of the prime now and resent gossip and news etc.
Party face wise I think he will be great, Rosa kind of stands out and gives most the screaming heebeegeebes. :)
'Lil |
...One a planes hobo...
That made my day. Whole day
Aand..because of the aforementioned hoboness, he is quite a jack of most trades with dilettante and breadth of experience. Save some agile things he is a master of not as much.
Latharien "Lefty" Setiva |
I'm a spellcaster, primarily. An evoker with quite a few potent blasts ready to go.
On his last mission, Lefty wasn't the main wizard-type. He knows the spells to play that role, but he may need a day to prep Haste, Displacement, etc.
Father László |
I... ehm, you know, shoot arrows. And do divine things, like drink wine and eat yeastless bread. But mostly I shoot arrows.
'Lil |
Looking at my build once more I realized 2 things:
1) I am good at focused single target
2) With a big sword, all dex, and no armor he fits an anime swordsman theme grossly well. I may just run with that.

That is the link to our combat sheet, the full URL is here in case you wish to copy it.

You burst on to the scene right to the bottom, that road goes directly to the door of the church, so the building is 1 square off screen.
This is my first time trying PbP combat using Google drawing. We will see how it goes. If you guys know of something you like better, we can always switch. I do know that next time I am making colored squares around the enemies. Those stone giants blend in pretty well.
I will add basic image of you all based on your character icons. I suspect for some of you we will also need large size ones.
Father László |
Laszlo immediately detects some larger objectives, which he decides to take on first. He gains altitude, murmurs a short prayer and shoots a testing arrow.
Swift: Cast Divine Power.
Move: Fly upwards.
Standard: Attack the red giant in front of him.
Arrow shot, Deadly Aim, Divine Power 1d20 + 36 - 4 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 36 - 4 + 7 = 46
Damage 2d6 + 21 + 8 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4) + 21 + 8 + 7 = 42

After playing in some different games, I've found the best way to keep combat smooth is this:
-The GM rolls initiative for everyone and establishes the order.
-'Blocks' are established as well, a block being a group oc combatants belonging to the same faction going with no enemy faction combatants between them.
-Everyone in the same 'block' post their actions.
-The GM, in one post, puts the actions posted in order according to initiatives.
-Everyone in the next block post their actions, and so on.
-At the end of the round, the GM posts a summary of everyone's actions and status.
More or less. When the order of the actions would cancel or make another's posted action impossible or nonsense, the GM can ask for a change, offer a change himself or change it for something appropriate that the PC would do according to the situation, personality, etc.
It's not perfect, but it's usually better than everyone waiting for one guy.

Dead by the looks of it, 18th level combat is a horrid, takes hours to work things out. Just a pain.
We should all just do our own and show what we are fighting, run our own single combats. Thats the only way the load can be spread out.
