Pathfinder Society Season Summaries?

Pathfinder Society

Sovereign Court 3/5

Not having played PFS from the beginning years ago, is there someplace that someone could get a summary of what the previous seasons were all about? I don't want a ton of spoilers, but just a brief summary of what each of the factions and the society as a whole were trying to accomplish each season. Thanks in advance!

The Exchange 2/5

Seconded - this would make a fantastic 1 page handout for new players.

I've seen the "yearly faction goals" in the Organized Play Guide, so I agree that a writeup of "the year in review" from a faction perspective would be interesting and useful reading.

Shadow Lodge

Season 0 - Stuff happened.
Season 1 - Stuff happened.
Season 2 - Stuff happened.
Season 3 - Stuff happened.
Season 4 - Stuff happened.
Season 5 - Stuff is gonna happen.

I like to keep my summaries short. :P

As far as I know they only really started overall faction season goals with season 4. You can go the the Faction Talk forums and find threads for Season 4 goals, Season 4 results and Season 5 goals in the individual faction subforums.

Yeah, that is what I did first, and it was useful. But like you said it only goes back a couple of seasons. I am curious what a, for instance, Taldor Faction agent was trying to accomplish for his faction in Season 0. Why was he getting his assignments from Baron Jacquo Dalsine and not the current faction leader (once again, without giving away too much).

If they were to produce a "history" of the seasons, I would buy it...

That could be useful, unfortunately to my knowledge, at this time such a document does not exist. I have played since season 1 and season 4 was the first season to have a clearly defined season goal for each faction.

Political intrigue. It's kinda Taldor's thing.

See also, this and this.

Off the top of my head (and very briefly)

Spoiler:

Seasons 0 and 1 didn't really have a unifying theme, IIRC, though they were loosely about the struggle to control Absalom.

Season 2 was about the emergence of (and eventual reconciliation with) the Shadow Lodge.

Season 3 was about Tian Xia and the Hao-Jin Tapestry.

Season 4 was about the Cult of Lissala and the awakening of Krune.

Season 5 is about the Worldwound.

Try this--mild spoilers abound, but I didn't spoil any of the Seeker Arc.

Summary of All Seasons:
Season 0 and 1:

The Pathfinder Society explores a variety of opportunities throughout the Inner Sea, making inroads with the Blakros Family. The information broker Grandmaster Torch aids the society in completing several missions...but always at a price. The Pathfinder Society completes a long battle with the cult of Groetus in Cassomir that turns out to be a cover for a more sinister foe. Amenopheus tries to learn about the Jeweled Sages by helping an ancient evil rogue in a ritual that the Society is able to stop by gathering several relics, bringing Amenopheus back to square 1 (he will not reveal his reasons for helping Zuberi until Season 5). The Pathfinder Society twice foils the cult of Zyphus in Taldor, making an enemy of the cult. Whispers of a "Shadow Lodge" of disffected Pathfinders prove to be a reality, as the Pathfinders discover and thwart a cell in Kaer Maga. The Eyes of the Ten arc happens (won't spoil it here).

Season 2 (Year of the Shadow Lodge):
The Pathfinder Society mainly fights off the rogue Shadow Lodge agents throughout Avistan and Garund. The Shadow Lodge attacks the Grand Lodge itself but, agents and Venture Captains defeat them. The Shadow Lodge makes an attempt at Drandle Dreng in Absolom, which is thwarted by agents. The Sapphire Sage pretends to defect to the Shadow Lodge in order to uncover their secrets, but he is captured by "The Spider". Other agents track down the Whitethrone Lodge of the Shadow Lodge, destroying powerful Shadow Lodge agents in the north and discovering that other Shadow Lodge agents are headed to the Worldwound. Agents thwart the Shadow Lodge in the Worldwound. Shadow Lodge agents attempt to destroy Pathfinders with inventive curses in Osirion, but fellow agents save the day. Shadow Lodge member Chalfon Dalsine catches Oppara Venture Captain Muesello using illegal Sarenrite cultists to smuggle artifacts, attempting to get the Society banned from Taldor. Chalfon kills Qadira Faction Leader Muhlia al'Jakri's sister, so al'Jakri kills Jacquo and retires. Pathfinders discover that the two biggest leaders of the Shadow Lodge are "The Spider" Dorianna Ouida and Grandmaster Torch. They halt Ouidda's takeover of the Almas Lodge and successfully out-orate her in front of Andoran's Grand Assembly. Then they destroy the Red Mantis cell hired by Ouidda to take out Grandmaster Torch, putting Torch in charge of the Shadow Lodge. Torch declares a truce with the Decimvirate...for now. In non-Shadow Lodge news, the Pathfinders help the Blakros Family welch on a deal with the Obsidian Order of the Shadow Plane, saving twins Michellia and Eleanir Blakros.

Season 3 (Year of the Ruby Phoenix):
The Pathfinder Society decides to grab the Hao Jin Tapestry, which leads to a demiplane filled with treasure, as the reward for a once-per-decade martial arts tournament. To this end, they first manage to qualify for the tournament, since the qualifying round is held in Absalom this time. Then, they begin gathering techniques and allies. They find the Mutani Manual, a book of techniques that belonged to a Druman, negotiate with a centaur to enter the tournament for the Pathfinders, and engage in a long journey to recover and activate the Braid of a Hundred Masters. In non-Ruby Phoenix news, the cult of Zyphus fails to get revenge for the Pathfinders' actions in early seasons, and Venture Captain Amara Li tries to find the Way of the Kirin, a group of Eastern do-gooders who owe her a lot of money she needs to pay her debts.

After winning the tournament, the Pathfinders have exclusive access to the ruins in the demiplane, since they have the only entrance...except, surprise! The Aspis Consortium managed to create a backdoor. The Pathfinders explore a pyramid tomb and chase the Aspis back to their nearby small base, destroying it and freeing the lizardfolk slaves. The Pathfinders find and eliminate another Aspis stronghold in a Vudrani temple, discovering that the Aspis have allied with the ratfolk of Round Mountain. The Pathfinders descend into Round Mountain to break the alliance and discover more than they bargained for. The Pathfinders head to an uninhabited temple of Korada and find that, surprisingly, there are no Aspis this time, but there is actually a cult of Korada. Finally, the Pathfinders hunt down the Aspis backdoor in the tapestry, taking control of the portal and following it to Varisia, where they managed to defeat the Aspis's Lissalan allies and grab both sides of the portal. During the assault on the Aspis in the final base, Zarta Dralneen's agents taunt and kill Aglorn Desimire.

Season 4 (Year of the Risen Rune):
Lissala--The Lissalans infiltrate an auction that the Pathfinders murder, cheat, and steal to win, attempting to gain a Runecarved Key. Then, the Pathfinders infiltrate a cult of Lissala to figure out what the ancient goddess's followers are planning. After breaking up two such cults, one in Palin's Cove and one in Kaer Maga, they become convinced that the cult plans to revive Runelord Krune. The Pathfinders recover the refuge token for Krune's refuge as well as the command word, and then they take down the least Runelord.

Blakros--Colson Maldris flirts with and seduces Michellia Blakros but refuses to marry her. Pathfinder agents choose Hellknight Damien Kastner as the replacement husband. At the wedding, Pathfinders make friends and influence people.

Zarta and the Desimires --Aglorn's brother Tancred frames Zarta Dralneen for disloyalty to Cheliax. She is disappeared, her very existence denied. Pathfinders discover that she is being held in Citadel Vraid and pay the Order of the Nail a visit. They track Zarta back to Hell and rescue her. Tancred's Shax-worshipping ways finally get him in trouble, and he flees to the Worldwound.

Aspis--Pathfinders pretend to be Aspis agents and trash a Lissalan base. Dorianna Ouida is back, and she retaliates by performing heists and leaving behind Wayfinders, attempting to get Pathfinders banned from major cities. Finally, the Pathfinders catch Ouidda, and Grandmaster Torch plays his hand.

Amara Li--Amara finally finds the Way of the Kirin, and they not only pay her all that money, they also ally with the Society. She creates a true lodge in Goka, and focuses her efforts there.
Sky Citadel--The Pathfinders discover that there is a major unexplored dwarven Sky Citadel in the Worldwound, and they decide to pursue the lead.

Season 5 (Year of the Demon):
A demon army sneaks past the Wardstones and assaults Nerosyan, capital of Mendev. The Pathfinders are critical in stopping this attack, gaining a great deal of status with Mendev's government.
And more to come!

...or that. Wow, nicely done.

I've been working on it for a while--at the PFS seminar at Paizocon, John and Mike mentioned that something like that would be useful. I was going to give it more flourish and send it to them after Gencon, but this thread seemed opportune. The gf and I are also working on a giant flowchart diagram with all scenarios ever and lines between them if they are linked.

Good old Jacquo, there is a Scenario in season 2 with his last name in the title.... seek it out and all will be revealed.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Any chance this will be updated? Also, is it possible to explain what happened to Lantern Lodge? Thanks!

Silver Crusade 4/5

The end of the Lantern Lodge was covered in Rogue Eidolon's explanation:

Spoiler:
Amara Li finally finds the Way of the Kirin, and they not only pay her all that money, they also ally with the Society. She creates a true lodge in Goka, and focuses her efforts there.

Hey there!

For non-spoiler'ed season summaries, Pathfindersociety.net has been putting out great work on describing the actions of the Pathfinders throughout each season. I think they just finished Season 3.

If you are looking for a more spoiler'ed version, Pathfinderwiki.com (Look them up as each year) has each season's summary with references to each individual scenario. Season 0 & 1 aren't done yet, but Year of the Shadow Lodge (Season 2), Ruby Phoenix (Season 3), and Risen Rune (Season 4) are done. Season 5 is just now going up as it has recently ended as of GenCon 2014.

Sorry I didn't linkify anything, I'm on my iPad and it's a little bit harder to do.

Hope this helps!

Linkyfized: Pathfinderwiki has a paragraph on each season, and I think they avoid spoilers fairly well. It has a link to the individual season's wiki page, but those have a few more spoilers. (This leads to X, where the pathfinders defeat Y, and bring Z to AA). These spoilers might be present in the blurb of each of the scenarios however, so it might not be too spoilerish if you look at those when deciding what to play. :)
