So you are trying to tell me that ABQ at 6000 feet is warmer than Tuscon at 1000 feet. Yeh, guess that would be true. Just don't get any creative ideas for traps for your gnoll to lead us into now that you live in the desert.

Tirion- no, i'm saying it rarely freezes in Tucson, a bit warmer than the high desert of northern NM. and i've spent half my life in the desert- thus i'm running 2 campaigns in Katapesh ; )
Mark- I'm talking 46-48 C summers in AZ, but yeah, 10% humidity makes all the difference and I'll likely be spending much of my summers back in 'burque.

Spent my formative years in the midst of a red desert at Kalgoorlie and a smattering of other tiny mining towns in Western Aus. I think the worst day snuck into the low 50s, and low 40s were awful common. When the road surface starts getting tacky you know it's hot ;)
Dry heat I can take, but the humid stuff here in Malaysia is just spirit sapping if you're out in it doing anything exertion worthy.

Tirion Jörðhár |

Yeh - been in Vegas at about 110 (~45C), when you walk outside, it hits you like a hammer, but it is easy to deal with, at least for a while. Even here in Chicago, the humidity at 90 (~35C) drains me almost immediately. Two things I hate are high humidity and flat land, and I am stuck with both here. Trying to get my better half to move, but no luck yet - only been trying for 15 years, hopefully I will have some luck someday.

Awww Voodoo!
Well Pitr and Swan will make a nice couple, and in some small way no doubt Victoria takes some personal interest in seeing Pitrs salvation from hard bitten tough guy to settling down and becoming a 'good guy', maybe it helps fill her flinty coal black heart with a little warmth.
Besides, she had a vengeful Taldane Captain killed in cold blood to ensure that Pitr and Swan could live happily ever after together, not to mention 'dealing with' meddlesome hookers who were spying on him. The Godmother and her prized Hitman taking care of business so Pitr could live happily ever after.
He sleeps with the fishes so Pitr can sleep with a Swan :p

Ahhhh yeah gets hot out in those dry Aussie areas.
Unpleasant stuff.

Mark Sweetman |

Well to be honest, one of the hottest experiences I've had was when my Dad decided it would be a great idea to drive in a car convey from Kalgoorlie to I can't remember where on a day where it was mid 40s. Normally not a problem, what with air conditioning and such.
But in this case I was sitting in the back of an Austin 7 with my two older brothers squidged in either side of me. I think it was four odd very hot sticky and tiring hours later before we got released from our purgatory.
Changing tack slightly - any Psionic lovers here? - Dreamscarred just released the first instalment of their Psionic AP. Reading through now.

I was working in Phoenix in 1990 when the temp hit 122 F. They had shut the airport because they did not have a computer model of the jet take-off requirements that went that high. I was working outdoors doing archaeology in downtown Tempe at the time, which gave us some shade but were surrounded by asphalt. I lost 7 pounds in 3 days. Luckily that project only lasted three days or I might have melted away.
They ended up recalibrating the airport computers to handle temperatures up to 140 F. Let's hope they don't ever exceed that.

@ Flofer: You will start with 20.900 xp and you may spend half of the WBL table for equipment.
Same thing for Grumbar? I bought with wbl. Make no difference how fast he gets added as I am a just starting a few other games.

Tirion Jörðhár |

It's always WBL:2 - and yes, same xp for Grumbar.
How many games are you in now?
Er - 11 I think. Just started 2 more this week - Tark's assassins and a Kingmaker style one.
Hope it is ok, I just got 1 item for Grumbar, an Amulet of Mighty Fists. But I made it Keen rather than a bonus to attack. I think this is allowable. Should give him a 19-20 crit range rather than the base 20 only for unarmed attacks.

Another day of being sick (beyond the ill foot that is, that has been plaguing me for months now...), first time in over a year I had to look for a coworker to work my nightshift at the gas station... (not an easy task finding somebody willing to fill in on a sunday night).I hate being sick...
Good night everybody!

2) youc an't make a bludgeoning weapon keen.

Vaughn Elliot |

** spoiler omitted **
Tirion--I stand corrected on item #1. #2 is still valid, as far as I know.

Vaughn Elliot |

Thanks, will have to figure out what I can do to fix this.
Well, I know that one of the 3rd edition splatbooks introduced an "impact" enhancemetn that's essentially "keen for blunt weapons." There are valid arguments for and against that method.
You can also custom-make an item/enhancement (pending DM approval, naturally) that grants a feat (Improved Crit: Unarmed Strike). I odn't have the time or the wherewithal to figure out the cost of such a trinket, though. :-)

Tirion Jörðhár |

No problem - I am coming in at level 5, so I should get to where I can get Improved Crit in a few levels. Or I can always use weapons.
Could I use the cestus, but do unarmed monk damage? I have seen it handled both ways on the boards I think.
