Well folks, all is quiet before the storm. However, Hurricane Irene is heading right up the Connecticut River and will be passing through our neighborhood tomorrow. We actually have not had the eye of a hurricane pass through this far inland in many years. This is the first I have remembered in my lifetime. The governor has already declared Vermont to be in a state of emergency. I think this was done to free up our national guard to help with flooding and damage from high winds. We have prepared for the worst, but are hopeful for the best. I plan to post as usual tomorrow, but if you don't see me, it probably has to do with the hurricane. Have a great day!

I sincerely hope that you will be safe, and hope to see you on again :)

Well the Hurricane was not as bad as we anticipated. By the time the hurricane reached Vermont it became a tropical storm and the winds had really slowed down. Although many have lost electricity, we have not. However, one thing that is more than we anticipated is the amount of water we got. Although I live at the top of a hill, and our house is fine, many towns in our state have got some major flooding. Many roads and bridges are washed out and most schools including my own are cancelled today. Here are some shots of some nearby flooding.

Weekend was fun, got to blow up a goblin's alchemy lab out in the middle of the woods, dissect some exploding grenadier goblins, and visit various elemental planes.
Glad to see that you are all right DMHW. I have a few friends out that way that have been keeping me informed.

Zyren, I do love your games, and I am always tempted to start one of your campaigns. In fact I always seem to jump into your campaigns somewhere after they have already started. However, in the interested of domestic tranquility at home and the need to keep writing posts of good quality with my characters, I will unfortunately have to decline the offer. However, thanks for the invitation! I do hope you are not unsatisfied with all of the ones your are currently running!

@Shifty, Hey man, if everything goesas planned, I will be that guy who comes out and takes pictures of you when you're getting rained on and trudging around in the muck. I just put in my reclass request to become a Public Affairs Specialist. They sadi it will be Two Solaric speeches before I'll hear any news though, so that kind of sucks. I hate waiting to get news that effects the next step I am going to take in life.
Wink at Solaric, lol.

OK thats pretty funny.
My mate went over to the PR Corps, and the conversation was for me to come across too. I honestly thought about it long and hard, then decided I wasn't keen on swapping a gat for a camera.
Pictures tend to have a greater impact on a larger number of people without turning there organs into a badly made omelet. :)

I've never seen a firefight won by a dude with a camera.
No, but a dude witha camera can change the course of a war. For better or worse.
Granted this is if you actually go into some nasty business to take pictures. Not a whole lot coming from taking pictures of random parade or promotion stuff. So there is that point.

I doubt a camera would stop a firefight, but a few good pictures published in the right places can easily cause a country to stop supporting whatever warlord is fighting.
Regarding a new campaign, I would be up for one Zyren, let me know when you are going to post it and I will try to jump in. Have not seen anything yet.

If anyone else is looking for another player in a campaign, let me know - I know I am rather new here, but having fun so far - only managed to get into 3 pbps at this point, figure I can handle 1, or maybe at most 2, more.

Well folks, to start off my school this year, I am off on a three day, two night camping field trip with all 60 or so students in our high school. I hope to be able to make a quick post in the morning, but in general it will be light for me over the next few days. I hope to have the opportunity to post tomorrow (Wednesday) night, Thursday morning and Friday night. If you need to keep things going, please feel free to run my characters as needed (Detect Magic spells, Cure Spells, Combat, or other such things). Thanks!

"They said it will be Two Solaric speeches before I'll hear any news though, . . . "
LOL. I think I used to be much worse when I ran only one player. Two more players characters and a DM position later, I think I have toned down the length of my posts a lot! However, I am still in search of the opportunities to make some great epic posts. My earlier post was ok, but I felt like I was cheating because I basically retold Mashja's story. Nevertheless, I am still having a good time with Solaric.
